The Space

Nestled in the Green Mountains of Central Vermont, our secluded 16 acre Mountain Valley Retreat Bed and Breakfast in Killington offers a unique opportunity to privately explore wetlands and mountain terrain uninterrupted by traffic and the din of city life. This unique home has three bedrooms. Two of them have double occupancy queen sized beds which we rent. The Queen Room with a View is a corner windowed bedroom with a view of mountains and valley wetlands. My wife Barbara and I live in the third bedroom, welcome guests, serve breakfasts, and maintain the property. We have two common bathrooms, one upstairs, and one on the main floor. Each room offers spectacular views of some of the world’s oldest mountains and the narrow valley headwaters of the Ottauquechee River.

The chance to commune with nature at our Mountain Valley Retreat is well worth it. No matter what the season, no matter what the weather, we are confident that your experience with us will be a memorable one. We encourage you to view our four season presentation to select your perfect retreat.

  • Mike and Barb have a beautiful place in Vermont. It was the perfect place to stay for a quick trip to Killington and it was a nice respite from the hectic city life. Mike also cooked a delicious breakfast! I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable environment.

  • It was a delight to stay at the Mountain Valley Retreat, which was tucked away in a beautiful, scenic property beside a brook, and still close to the major mountains and attractions of Vermont. The location was perfect for our ski trip to Killington resort (10-15 minute drive).

Mike and Barb were gracious hosts and prepared delicious breakfasts every morning, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that our eggs that morning were freshly laid by Mike's chickens.

    Will definitely come again!

    Response from Mike:

Thank you Mona, for such a kind review. I am in your sevice.

  • My daughter and I had a fun trip to VT for snowboarding. Mike and Barb have a cozy home on 16 acres. They were very friendly and allowed us to use their snowshoes and play in the snow in their yard. Breakfasts were always plentiful and prompt. The room was large with plenty of space for all of our things. Something to be aware of is that the Internet connection is weak on the cell phones. I was able to get a slightly better connection on my laptop. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

    Response from Mike:

Saychay and Olympia were wonderful guests, They certainly got the most out of their vacation, even while attending to employment responsibilities and homework. Saychay helped me with our WiFi system which now works seamlessly. I would certainly welcome them back.
