I never met Catia, but her niece made me feel welcome. The place was perfectly clean and well looked after.
The house is a fair distance from the city (at least an hour each way), which is further than I would have liked. However, this was my own fault for not checking the details before I booked.
If the distance does not bother you, then it is a great place to stay that is clean and comfortable.
I have stayed with Catia and her husband for four months so far, and they have been happy to offer me another room, as my stay has been prolonged.
I have been delighted with their service. They are very friendly and helpful, without being too intrusive and, as mentioned, they have been very accommodating and patient with my changing circumstances. Likewise, the household as a whole, even with various people coming and going, is usually calm and quiet.
The room is small, but has been a very pleasing place to return to after being out. The kitchenette is great, and there are plenty of places to store things. Also, the bathroom is conveniently right next to it. The tram stop is just around the corner from the house, and one can easily use the trams to get to a few train stations which take one to central London (which I've had to do often when going to work in Hackney).
I have appreciated my stay here, and recommend it to anyone looking for a brief stay in London, or as a stepping stone to a permanent move.
This is a lovely home in East Croydon. The family who hosted me was always nice and helpful. I was impressed with the cozy yet extensive accommodations. The fact that the room came with its own sink and dining table is especially nice. The shower is spacious and has decent water pressure. All in all, it is a fantastic deal. I highly recommend this place. One tip: the bathroom upstairs has a folding door. There looks like there is a lock on the right side, but that is not a working lock. Look up. The working lock is at the top in the middle. I didn’t realize that at first, and one of the boarders walked in on me. Thankfully, I was dressed and leaving the bathroom anyway, but it is helpful to know in advance. As far as the neighborhood goes, I was able to walk to the tram station in under five minutes. There is also a bus that stops about a block away. Near that bus stop, there are a few inexpensive restaurants and a small grocery store.
I truly enjoyed my stay. They were very welcoming and very helpful. If I needed any directions or ideas on what to see all I had to do was ask. The house is right near the tram line so getting around was really easy. Also, there is a small shop down the road that has important items if you don't have time for the tram. It was a great place to stay for my adventure!
I stayed over Catia's place for over a month and a half, and had the best time I could ! I really enjoyed the privacy I had as well as being able to do as I pleased. Catia was really helpful when needed, calm and very caring. If I had to come back to the UK whether it'd be for a short time or longer like this one, I'd choose her place again !
The kitchen in the room helped a lot when eating-in at night, and the proximity of the house to the Tramlink allowed me to sleep more at least i stead of waking up at the crack of dawn to get ready to go.
Thanks for the amazing time and help Catia ;)
Very good value for money. The kitchenette was very helpful. I didn't meet Catia but was given the key by her niece on arrival which was all very easy. Lack of hot water was the only real issue, 2 of the 4 nights I stayed I couldn't shower because the water was so cold. Overall good value and good location.

I am a registered general nurse and work for private patients delivering nursing care in their own homes. My work schedule is usually 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off depending on the client's condition. At times you may not meet up with me but please don't be alarmed. My husband and niece are wonderful persons who will take good care of you and I am constantly in contact with my guests to see that they have settled in nicely. My husband is a retired mental health nurse. We have 2 daughters who are both married. I enjoy musicals, concerts, dancing and cooking. I also love travelling and meeting people from different countries. I am patient, understanding and calm. We will make your stay very pleasant and you will have a great time with us.
My motto is that I take good care of my guest as I expect the same for me when I am an AIRBNB GUEST.
