About this listing
Casa Selvatica is: main house and 2 bungalows. They can be rented together or separately. Main house is right on the beach, bungalows behind in the palm forest - all on a creek bed. Bungalows have kitchenettes & outdoor patios w/ chairs & tables.
You can rent the main house that sleeps 4, or you can rent the bungalow that sleeps 2 to 4 or the cottage that sleeps 2. The rent ranges from $125 per night to $600 -depending on the number of 'casas' you want and the time of year.
The property consists of the main house in front, (1) Casa Selvatica, which has two bedrooms, one with a King bed, one with a Queen, both with their own private decks. In back are the bungalow: (2) Casa Buena Suerte, a suite with a King bedroom, a living room with two sleepable couches and small kitchen area. Down from that on the path to the beach is the cottage: (3) Casa Lilia, an all marble studio with Queen bed and small kitchen area. One, two or all three can be rented. The price is determined by how many people and how many places (bedrooms) are needed and the time of year. Casa Lilia, the studio, goes for $100-$150 per night, Casa Buena Suerte, the suite $150-$200 per night, and the entire property which sleeps between eight and ten people is $300-$600 per night. It is not available the 2012 holiday season.
Casa Selvatica, the name of the entire property of house and cottages, is located in the private and 24/7 gated and guarded community of Punta del Burro, 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, 20 minutes before Sayulita, 10 minutes before Punta Mita and 5 minutes after the fishing village (and new Marina) Cruz de Huanacaxtle - all located on Riviera Nayarit. It is the second to the last house in the community, located in a palm forest adjacent to a river bed and sits in front of one of the area's best surf beaches: "Burros". This famous right point reef break is just 100 yards to the right of the house. Direrectly in front of the house is a very forgiving wave perfect for learners, (with both rights and lefts) - with another mostly left break in between.
There are 5 kayaks, 5 boogie boards, a competition ping pong table and assorted surf fins, snorkles, booties, etc. for your use. Available for rent are long and short surf boards and Stand Up Paddle Boards. There is a fire pit on the beach and barbecues outside the houses.
Punta del Burro is a private community located at 10.3 Kilometers on the Punta Mita Highway. It is not attached to a town or village, thus a car is useful. There are great restaurants within 10 minutes of the house - just request the list. There is a spa on our beach, horseback riding 15 minutes away, many locations for rain forest canopy tours and zip-lining, swimming with dolphins and unique to our area is a fishing boat trip to the Marietas Islands directly in front of our house, one of the few nature preserves in the world with Blue-footed Boobies. And after all the adventures, you will return to a quiet, beautiful private white sand beach called Burros. It is a surfing beach and thus there is a reef, but swimming is easy right out from the house and on calm days snorkeling will reveal the colorful underwater world of these tropical waters.
Casa Selvatica was designed by Cristina Duque from Mexico City and is a unique combination of local stone, tropical woods, stained glass and Mexican tile. The individual and distinctive style, reminiscent of the houses of the Catalan Spanish architect, Antoni Gaudi, was inspired by the nature that surrounds and is both casual and elegant - it makes all who enter feel right at home.

We've been coming to Mexico for years now & stayed in some pretty cool places, but this spot is amazing. Nestled into a well kept jungle with winding brick pathways lined with tropical flowers - it's like a wild garden, providing a shady haven when you need a break from the sun. Casa Lillia is great for one or two people, everything you need is there. Dave loved the Burros surf break right out front & I loved reclining in a chaise lounge under a palm tree catching up on my reading. The beach is great to walk & explore. Lori is so sweet & friendly, & made us feel like family. She even arranged & accompanied us on a paddle board/snorkeling tour out to the Mariettas bird sanctuary. We highly recommend this lovely piece of paradise to anyone looking for peaceful privacy, beauty, safety & great surf opportunities.

I had such a great trip! This is a good place to unwind for families, couples, and the surfer alike. I had excellent surf out front at burrows (solid 6' !) and special love & care from Lori and the Selvetica team. The trip was unforgettable and I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I return next summer. The dynamic layout of this little gem in the jungle provides areas ideal for both privacy and community (perfect for group dinners, events, & entertaining). Close enough to anything you could need but no real need to leave. Nice kitchen facilities available for guests if you like to cook, but also a dreamy five-star (minus the price) cook staff for those that like to be pampered (the food was better than my meal at the four seasons). *SPECIAL NOTE TO THOSE WHO LIKE SURF ADVENTURE* No need to bring boards as there is a great selection at the house. Also Lori is a surfer with a wonderful spirit. She knows everyone in the local surf community and has the place wired. she set me up with a guide that took me on a truly magical 4 day surf south to some of mainland's best spots including pascuales, la ticla, and rio nexpa.
Words of a 9/21/10 Casa Selvatica guest:
We had the privilege of spending the last part of our honeymoon at Casa Selvetica. It was the best part of our trip. There's this feeling of peace and serenity the minute you walk in the door. The architecture is great and we loved how open everything is. It was relaxing, peaceful. and romantic....everything you dream that your honeymoon is and more. As new surfers, we enjoyed being able to watch the waves from our window and be in the water within minutes. Lori, the owner, makes everything so comfortable that you feel like you're home (thanks again Lori). We're already planning our next trip back.

It was truly an honor to stay at Casa Selvatica! An easy drive from Puerto Vallarta to a tropical beauty. This home is so unique, you fall in love the minute you walk through the door. The owner and her staff are not only accomodating, they are delightful. All the toys to play in the water and the home is a great place to entertain or just a quiet getaway. Casa Selvatica is charm and elegance.

Only one rule: wash the sand off at the beach under the jungle shower / foot wash!
You may want to wash your board, too!
Our reception was very well organized - we received a complete detailed guide for the house and the services, with a house manager picking us up at the airport. The house is better than photos describe is integrates beautifully into the surrounding greenery. It is a great place to stay with multiple families, as each room has independent bathroom/shower. Beautiful beach right next to the house requires shoes (provided by the host) - something to keep in mind. But its a great place to learn to surf, paddleboard, etc. I strongly recommend a "Nahui" beach about 10 minute drive from the house - white sand, no rocks, very few tourists. We greatly enjoyed our stay at Lori's house!
Outstanding home near Sayulita. Lori was exceptionally helpful with directions, pointers and any recommendations you would need under the sun.
Their home is gorgeous and the beach break in front of the home provided one of the best surfing days we have ever had.
Her home admin, Pablo is the kindest and most eagerly helpful gentleman and took great care of our group.
What a great experience!
Not only is Lori's house an idyllic, artistic paradise surrounded by lush vegetation, coconut palms and papaya orchards, but she is also the most wonderful host. Engaging, welcoming and full of local knowledge in addition to boundless generosity... plus the grooviest poodle in Mexico.
This is a calm oasis or a great place if you want an active trip; cayaks, surfboards and snorkels at your disposal, swimming, hiking, sunlounging, it's all here.
We had such a great time Lori, thank you!
