Interaction with Guests
Happy to help. I have maps, local info, guides and travel info, a cuppa tea and a wee chat with an introduction to The Friendliest City in the World n
(That's official! It's an actual Award)
Above a great Italian Cafe, with two others within 200 meters. (but you get a discount from Smile! Cafe because Santino loves AirBnB too.)
Beautiful riverside walk 100 meters away, with over 50 restaurants and pubs within a 15 minute walk. Plus, 9 museums, botanical Gardens, 3 parks all within 20 minutes.
7 minutes (I geekily timed it) to Underground system and 4 minutes to all major bus routes, though, you can easily walk anywhere from the apartment.
Other Things to Note
You can call, text, email me about anything. You really are welcome. Good communication seems to keep the stress of your journey down as much as possible. Also, you can check-in anytime, I've had guests arrive at 6.30am and at midnight (that's EasyJet for you) its not a problem,.
Relax and have an enjoyable time. Your on your holidays!
Dave is a superhost for a reason!! Right from when we booked with him he gave us great tips and advice on Glasgow and always replied to our questions and messages immediately. When we finally met in person he was super friendly and continued to give great recommendations (Indian restaurant for dinner). His apartment is cozy and in a perfect location in the West end. Near the city centre by bus and underground (around 20 minutes) and in a really nice and safe neighbourhood. All in all we had an awesome time at Dave's, the bed was extremely comfy and ladies no need to bring a hairdryer or straightener. Dave's got it all! We would definitely stay with Dave again when we return to Glasgow and highly recommend checking out Smile café below his apartment. Best coffee ever!!
Dave was a wealth of knowledge and a very kind and accommodating host. His place is gorgeous. The room is large and the bed is super comfy. We are just sorry we didn't get to spend more than one night there! Thanks Dave, you are a definite gem!!
This is my first Airbnb experience and I'm really happy that I chose to stay at Dave's place in Glasgow. Dave is very excited about being accredited as Superhost and trust me, Airbnb gave that accreditation for a reason! Great hospitality of course, Dave makes sure his guests are feeling comfy in the house. Before I arrived in Glasgow, he provided me with all the useful information and kept in touch. Chatting with Dave in person is like chatting with good friend, as I'm very interested in everything, we chatted for quite a long time (like 3 or 4 hrs?) and then at some point, I realised he's sleepy.. Sorry my bad!... I can be a chatterbox sometimes, but Dave doesn't mind at all:S Besides all the cute decorations, the bed is comfy too, also I like the bathroom which looks very girly with the mirror, ribbons, candles etc. Location is nice and quiet, easy to get to. Its about 7-10mins walk from Hillhead station, you have Starbucks, lots of shops and nice bridge view on the way to the house. If I'm to go back to Glasgow for holiday again, I know definitely where to go now:)
We arrived in Glasgow somewhat unexpectedly at 10 pm and were left without a place to stay. We found Dave's flat was an instant book. We felt bad asking to check in so late but Dave was very accommodating and didn't seem to mind. He gave us suggestions on where to get food so late and even helped us cook our frozen pizzas. Our stay was very short (10pm till 4am) but Dave even took the time to text us afterwards to make sure we got to our destination safely and said he'd help in anyway that he could while we were travelling.
Dave was great, flat was beautiful!
Dave made me feel very welcome and was super helpful with transport in and around Glasgow. He's a delight! Funny, great conversationalist, but also very respectful of privacy - perfect balance. The house is charming, clean with lots of interesting details. The room itself was quiet, very comfortable bed. All was provided for! I also loved the location above Smile cafe (great sandwiches) - the botanical gardens are gorgeous, lovely walks possible there in nature and yet super close to public transport, Glasgow U and the Kelvin grove museum. Feel lucky to have landed with Dave!
I love walking, reading, eating. Love good friends, conversation and cooking Love animals, sunshine, rain, snow. I'm a wee bit shy but people say I'm a cheery little fella and easy company. I'm five foot seven inches tall (that's not tall) so I don't take up much space. Text me even if you just want any info on Glasgow, I'm happy to help out if I can. Now, if I can just figure out how to add a photo...
