The listing was a very accurate description of the cottage. Everything was very clean and inviting, and getting the keys was a very easy process.
The cottage and location was very nice and as pictured on airbnb. We would stay at the location again. We could not connect to the internet with our three devices but we do not know if it was our issue or their problem. We were out of the cottage most of the weekend so this minor issue was not a big problem. Both Roseanne and Bill tried to resolve the issue and even offered to loan us a laptop. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great on the hot weekend.
Just returned from a weekend at Bailey's Retreat with college girlfriends. I can't say enough about this beautiful place. We rented cottages 1 and 2 for the weekend and they were both exactly as advertised. We made homemade pizzas Friday night and there were plenty of kitchen items for us to use. Our favorite feature of the property is the overlook at the top of the hill. It provides an amazing view of the sunset over the mountains. This was truly a perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with old friends. This city girl fell in love with the Charlottesville area and Bailey's Retreat. Roseanne was a great host. Even though they were away for the weekend, she was just a text away! This is well worth the 3 hour drive from Baltimore and I highly recommend this as a retreat to anyone coming from the Baltimore/DC area. I forgot quiet like this existed! Thanks again!
Bailey's Retreat (including their friendly owners, Roseanne & Bill) is a wonderful getaway. Everything was exactly as described – and we really enjoyed the gift basket upon arrival with that wonderful pumpkin bread.
This was our second time at Bailey's, the first time we stayed in their old cabin right next to the hosts home. The property is wonderful and large, lots of wild life (the non-dangerous kind) with perfect views overlooking the mountains. We especially recommend checking out the sunset from the main hill.
The cottage was clean and included all the amenities that we needed for the 3-4 days we were there. Interaction with the hosts is limited and can be as little or as much as you'd like–both Bill and Roseanne are available by cell if you need anything, but they can also be found tending to their property throughout the day.
All in all, we will be back. The property was close proximity to Charlottesville and was very private. We had a wonderful time.
The cabin is very nice and exactly as advertised. Roseanne and Bill were very responsive when we had to delay our arrival. We'd definitely stay there again
We loved staying at Bailey's Retreat. Everything listed was accurate and the cottage was very comfortable. Enjoyed the deer and fox while having morning coffee. Can't beat that. Would love to return in the future. Highly recommend!
Bailey's Retreat was exactly what my wife and I were looking for in a weekend cottage in Charlottesville. The area was so peaceful at all times of the day. The view from the top of the mountain was phenomenal. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a basket full of treats for the weekend, including some delicious pumpkin bread in the cottage. We met Bill when we were exploring the area Saturday morning. He gave us some good tips for vineyards to visit if we had time. The fire place was awesome and extremely convenient to set up since they provided a starter log. The entire cottage was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and cozy. All towels and toiletries were available at the cottage. We didn't get to spend enough time in the cottage since we had plans in Charlottesville but the plan is to return to Bailey's Retreat for a future getaway stay. Thanks so much for the fantastic weekend.
