The cabin is very nice and exactly as advertised. Roseanne and Bill were very responsive when we had to delay our arrival. We'd definitely stay there again
We loved staying at Bailey's Retreat. Everything listed was accurate and the cottage was very comfortable. Enjoyed the deer and fox while having morning coffee. Can't beat that. Would love to return in the future. Highly recommend!
Bailey's Retreat was exactly what my wife and I were looking for in a weekend cottage in Charlottesville. The area was so peaceful at all times of the day. The view from the top of the mountain was phenomenal. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a basket full of treats for the weekend, including some delicious pumpkin bread in the cottage. We met Bill when we were exploring the area Saturday morning. He gave us some good tips for vineyards to visit if we had time. The fire place was awesome and extremely convenient to set up since they provided a starter log. The entire cottage was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and cozy. All towels and toiletries were available at the cottage. We didn't get to spend enough time in the cottage since we had plans in Charlottesville but the plan is to return to Bailey's Retreat for a future getaway stay. Thanks so much for the fantastic weekend.
We had an amazing time! Such a cute place, very clean and comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality!
Great cottage, beautiful location, gorgeous views from the lookout spot. One night definitely wasn't long enough!
The host was very accommodating to our schedule. The vista was amazing and sunset was great. There were deer on the property, very neat to see first thing in the morning. They made pumpkin bread. I did not eat it there, but instead brought it home. My daughter promptly stole the bread and liked it so much she hid it from her brother so she wouldn't have to share.
We had the chance to meet Roseanne and Bill when we first arrived at Bailey's Retreat on Thursday afternoon for a long weekend. They were both extremely friendly and gave us great advice about where to go to make the most of time in Charlottesville! As recommended by our hosts, we stopped by Starr Hill Brewery for a tasting, which was only $7. A very tasty food truck was at the brewery, so we were able to eat an inexpensive lunch as well. The cottage had a great fireplace with plenty of firewood (including a starter log). The place was very clean, and there were many snacks laid out to welcome us. Roseanne and Bill had a basket with lots of pamphlets for vineyards, breweries, museums, etc. in the area. I would recommend Mudhouse in Crozet as a great spot for a morning cup o' joe!
