Just wow. What a stunning and massive property for large groups that enjoy privacy. We even got engaged on the grounds! Ema is incredibly responsive and has great recommendations. The pool is gorgeous but there is a neighbor closeby that complained two nights in a row because we were playing in the pool. So mind your volume at night. You are deep in the woods so bring bug spray. Lots of flies and wasps. Also - Only TWO ROOMS HAVE A/C - the attic bedrooms. Yes we were there during a record heat wave but the listing isn't 100 percent accurate. The living room, breakfast room and kitchen as well as 3 bedrooms were unbearably hot. Thank heavens for the pool though. If you can handle the heat and want a gorgeous, mini-castle hidden away in the Provençal countryside, don't stay anywhere else. A house for celebrating, for relaxing and for enjoying life.

This is truly a magical and special house, one that is clearly loved and cherished by the delightful owner. We were two families made up of late teens to early twenties, with four older parents and the house was perfect for us. We swam and played in the great swimming pool (approx 20 meters), read (or surfed making use of the wifi!), played boules, table tennis and card games, cooked in the terrific kitchen and ate on the terrace & drank lovely wine late into the night. Due to unbelievable summer traffic driving down we actually arrived 3.5 hours late. However the owner could not have been more charming & accommodating; she was there to greet us, and show us the house and there was no bad feeling (apart from our own guilt!). The house is clearly a home, and a much loved one. As with any old house, she has some quirky features & idiosyncratic charm, and you have to stay here with the right mindset. It would be more than possible (as with any old house) to find fault in the layout if you wanted to be over critical. It is a old house which means it has multiple irregular terraces made up of old flag-stones, the house has steep stairs, only the top floor bedrooms have a/c, quirky bathrooms etc; and the house is situated up a remote and long driveway, so you will ideally need a car or be prepared to arrange taxi's to take you into Aix (10 mins away) or shops (5 mins away). Alternatively you could think of it as fairy-tale home in Provence, with its beautiful gardens & terraces as places to escape to, read, recharge, paint, draw, laugh, swim and remember that living in a creative and artistic place of beauty for a week is as about as good as life can be.

A beautiful old and quirky house set on a hillside. Amazing pool. Very close to supermarket and highway. Lots of animals- donkeys, tortoises and cats so if you love animals, this might be the place for you!! Emmanuelle was very kind and respected our privacy. Lovely family.

Beautiful setting with lots of outdoor space for dining, grilling and swimming in the pool. Modern kitchen. Hard to find house. Must use GPS. About 10 minute drive from center of Aix-en-Provence, a wonderful treasure of shops, restaurants, Cezanne museum, and outdoor markets. Region is the best part of this house. Responsive landlords.

This was the first time we used airbnb and it was a wonderful experience. First of all, Emmanuelle was quick to respond and super helpful in the planning stages. We were driving down from Paris and did have a little trouble finding the house after dark in a rain storm, but we got Emmanuelle on the phone and she guided us safely to the right place. I don't think I can adequately express how beautiful that house is. Think of every movie you have seen where someone goes to Provence and falls in love with the place. This was it! The pictures don't do it justice. It was not only gorgeous, it was also very practical with every gadget and appliance you could ever dream up and room for everything and everyone. Outside there are terraces with tables and chairs just about everywhere you look and lounge chairs as well. The pool is lovely and I must admit we plundered the fig tree. There is a gigantic supermarket 2 minutes away so it is easy to stock up on everything if you don't have time to go to the fun market in Aix. Emmanuelle and her family live right next door and she couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful. Her husband is a painter, as you will see in the house, and she proudly showed us his studio and other finished paintings. We were 3 couples plus one and we all had great bedrooms and 3.5 modern bathrooms in all. We were all sorry to leave and dream of returning for a longer stay next time. Thank you, Emanuelle!
