Wow! From every aspect, this gets a 5 star rating from my husband and me! We were warmly welcomed by Roger and shown the immaculate accommodations at Birds and Breakfast. Everything was perfect, loved the common room where cold drinks and breakfast items were always stocked. Our room was great with air conditioning and fan also. They even let us bring our daughter and her boyfriend over to have a quick dip in the pool in back yard. Sunday morning was special with the delicious pancake breakfast upstairs with great conversation with Roger and Mary and other guests. We were sad we couldn't join them for a campfire in their backyard because we were busy with the family we were visiting. I'm so glad to have found this gem, and will hopefully by back someday!
my top ten reasons of how great this place is.... 1. the comfy bed and clean room. 2. a relaxing oasis to rejuvenate. 3. the AM. well stocked "breakfast nook 4. KOI pond 5. hummingbirds as well as other birds and flowers 6. the swimming pool 7. close to beaches, sights and restaurants 8. the " Puppies" , Mary and Roger!!! 9.conversations, laughs and and of course... Rogers jokes 10. the wonderful blueberry pancake (website hidden). The Worst thing about this place.............our stay was way too short. would love to stay there again.
My boyfriend and I decided to go on a weekend trip to the Cape May area for the 4th of July weekend. We came across Birds and Breakfast and immediately knew this was a perfect fit for us. The reviews were excellent and the actual experience even better. Mary and Roger were so generous and inviting from the moment we arrived. They showed us the room which was exactly as described in the posting. It was very clean, organized, and welcoming. They left us snacks and an open door for anything else we needed. On Sunday, they offered us pancakes. We ate a delicious breakfast while engaging in a fun conversation. We would highly recommend staying there with this wonderful family. We will definitely be back.
Roger and Mary were sitting outside when I arrived. They helped me with my luggage and showed me where everything was. Their home is lovely and the entire downstairs set up for the comfort and convenience of guests. There's a small refrigerator loaded with drinks and snacks. There's a microwave, toaster oven and coffee/tea maker.
My room was quite nice with plenty of closet space if needed. I was only there for two nights, so I didn't need it. I certainly could stay there for a week and be quite comfortable.
Lovely backyard with an above ground swimming pool. It's very pleasant for sitting outside. The house is set back quite a bit from the road so it was very quiet. The houses are far apart so it's a very quiet neighborhood.
Very easy to get Avalon to go to the beach and also easy to get other parts of south Jersey. A car is a must!
Come on a weekend so that you can enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast on Sunday morning with Roger and Mary and other guests. It makes for a very relaxing Sunday morning.
Highly recommend if you don't need to be right on the beach. Very affordable and delightful hosts.
This was our first AirBnB experience and it was beyond our expectation. It was really really great. Both Roger and Mary were wonderful. They truly enjoyed hosting guests and that made us always feel at home. The place was very clean, secured, beautiful and quiet. We are coming back for sure again in the near future. We HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone who's looking for quiet and super nice place near Cape May.
So sorry it took too long for our response. What a wonderful young couple. We had a great group that week end. We feel as if we all became friends. Introduced them to bird watching. Seul was a joy learning to work the tractor! Hope we have the pleasure of hosting them again!
Roger and Mary were amazing hosts. The space was very clean and I felt at home right away. It's the perfect spot to relax! I'd highly recommend both the hosts and the space!
Mary and Roger are the sweetest couple we have ever met and with huge hearts! Be ready for a handful of surprises and (website hidden) while staying at their home. Our experience at Birds and Breakfast was phenomenal.
It was our first time using AirBnb, and Mary and Roger definitely set up very high standards on future expectations. I and my girlfriend both work in the hospitality industry, and Mary and Roger definitely go an extra mile and beyond, being excellent hosts, providing that you are a respectful guest on your side. They don't only treat you as a guest, but rather make you feel a part of the family.
We had a supply of fresh towels, soap and all you may possibly need for your bedroom and bathroom during the stay. There’s a communal area where they keep snacks so that you don’t leave the house on an empty stomach! The entire place is super neat and tidy with a beautiful backyard where you can enjoy a fish pond, rest area with a fire pit and a hammock, and get an opportunity to observe a variety of bird species, if you are lucky enough. The place is amidst woods and you get all the fresh air you need.
The house is quiet, and you will enjoy a very peaceful awakening. As if that wasn't enough, Roger treated us in the morning (all 3 couples staying with them on that weekend) with freshly-made delicious blueberry pancakes! At the table both, Mary and him, shared stories and had some laugh with us and other guests during the breakfast to start the day in a good mood.
Highly recommended stay!
