You are not going to be closer to the centre of town for this price than in this lovely oak floored room. A mixture of contemporary and vintage features give the room great character. To get around Cambridge like a pro a guest bike is included.
Note: I have a second room available here: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/2420961
This spacious and light room is full of character with great pictures, furniture and fittings. I enjoy collecting interesting items like trunks, vintage lights and old packing crates, so have filled the room with such items to make it feel a little different and make your trip more memorable.
Overlooking the garden there's a lovely view outside as Spring turns into Summer, beyond the gardens are beautiful Victorian streets.
The room accommodates 2 people sharing the bed which is a high quality king size bed with plenty of storage space underneath, as well as drawers and a clothes rail/shelves (not shown in pictures) and black out blind as well. A bathroom with shower is next door, and clean towelling for two and a hair-dryer is provided.
Breakfast of cereal/muesli and tea/coffee is all included.
I have provided an Apple Airtunes stereo system which makes streaming music from any iPhone or iPad device really simple and if you have any other music device you can plug it in to the stereo provided.
Finally, the room has both a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector.
You have complete access to;
Bike and combination lock
Kitchenette area with fridge
I prefer to keep the living area for my own use as I sleep downstairs where as you will be upstairs.
Most days of the week I will be at home too, so can be on hand for any questions you might have. It is only myself living here permanently,
Nestled in the Castle area of the city you will be staying in a really historical area of Cambridge. Castle Hill is full of interesting shops, architecture and history including the famous Castle mound which is the highest point in Cambridge giving great views over the city. This blog gives an idea of some other sights within a 10 minute walk from the house;http://(email hidden)(phone number hidden)/a-tour-around-castle-hill-cambridge/
My street itself - I don't know of any other area which is so close to the centre yet so quiet - no pub kickouts keeping you awake. The 20mph streets in the area are barely used as they are not through roads. If you are after food or drinks, there is a lovely pub about 5 minutes away called the Carpenters Arms, and world famous pubs like The Eagle are no more than 12 minutes walk away. You are also very very near Magdalene Bridge where you can taking a punting trip which I highly recommended.
5 minutes walk to major bus stops taking you to the train station (Citi 8) which is situated a couple of miles from the centre of Cambridge. Apart from the station, everything else of interest in Cambridge is easily accessed on foot or bike from the house.
Incredibly near Fitzwilliam College and Churchill College - less than 5 minutes walk so great for graduation ceremonies.
If you want to check out other villages like St Ives, the house is near guided bus way stops.
I can provide parking permits.
Nice and clean room. Very friendly and considerate host. 20 min walk to city centre. Highly recommended!
Graham is a very kind and helpful person. The room is spacious and close to the city centre.
Great location, an easy walk to and from the centre of Cambridge. Graham's room was clean and the bed is large and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
Graham's place was great, the room was bright, clean and comfortable and Graham was very helpful. It was great to have use of the bike. Ten out of ten.
Really nice room, very tasteful, and perfect location, close to the city center and the colleges, in a quiet neiborhood. We had some great time, and Graham is a very considerate host. Thank you!
I only stayed one night, but the room was very nice, and Graham was very hospitable. Would definitely recommend him as a host.
The accommodation was clean and quiet and Graham is attentive.
Everything was as promised, and clean and comfortable. However, we were only there for one night, and were out in the evening and off first thing so we didn't spend much time there or see much of our host. Graham provided me with a car parking ticket for £3, which is much preferable to trying to find anywhere to park in town, parking is horrendous in Cambridge. We walked into the centre in about 15 minutes, so that was fine. There were two of us, so we didn't ask about the bike, but that would make it even easier.
as we was on budget and with his bicycle, we cycled around Cambridge with great fun.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
