  • I definetely recommend you to stay at this apartment. We booked the apartment initially for one night but extended our stay to 3. Ivania has been the best hostess ever! She is very helpfull, she even made a small tour of Quepos for us on her day off and got us a good deal with a tour guide of Parque Manuel Antonio. The apartment is very clean, all the furnitures and equipment are new, basic but confortable, we did not miss anything.Location is kind of odd and it took us a while to find the location with the car as we arrived at night and there are no signs. If you have a car you can visit around and once you find the apartment is easy to move around.

  • Ivania was very sweet and the apartment is nice and clean as described. The drive from the main road to her apartment is a little bit rough if you are not used to Costa Rican dirt roads but it really wasn't a big deal. However, you will need 4-wheel drive. The shower has excellent pressure and the apartment is close to Manuel Antonio and local attractions but nicely tucked away from the noise, hustle and bustle. I recommend the apartment! We enjoyed our stay.

  • Nice little home away from home, close enough to Manuel Antonio yet far enough from the hussle and bussle of a popular tourist spot. Clean and well equipped, you feel part of the community once you walked or drove the little back road to the local supermecado, in fact the local grocery store.

Ivania is a most attentive and wonderful host, always ready to help. Just ask and she anwers with a smile.

Definitely the place to book for a couple of days when you pass through the region if you are still the type who doesn't mind to walk a bit or a couple of turns and up and downs on less than a kilometer or so of country road leading to your peaceful little place on the fringe of the park .

  • This is a wonderful small apartment. Ivania and her family are great hosts. The kitchen is small with the basics. Lots of good hot water and a great balcony that one can sit on and listen and watch the wildlife of Miguel Antonio. The only real problem is the roads getting to the apartment. One absolutely needs a car. It is a real hike from where the buses let you off and the road is really difficult and dangerous even in a 4x4. This is not anyone's fault and not Ivania's responsibility but guests should know.

A normal car is not a problem at all, just drive slowly. And some guests like the walk of 15 min. a lot. Thanks for staying with us!

  • Although I had a problem with water pressure on my first night... no pressure, no water on the second floor, that was the only time it happened. I stayed 2 weeks and really enjoyed my time. Ivanias daughter and her husband were very helpful and friendly despite the language barrier. It is a 20 min. hike up to the main road to get the bus to the beach so it is a bit out of the way, but worth it for the peace and quiet. No big trucks rumbling by just a lot of dogs barking. You are basically where the locals live and that's a nice change from the touristy area. I chose the end apartment away from the road and sat out on the deck watching birds in the trees right next to the apartment. The apartment itself was clean, the bed very comfy. The fridge and stove worked well and I cooked almost all my own meals which saved on costs. If you stay for an extended period like I did you will have to ask for towels and tie up your garbage as most people seem to stay for only a day or two and there is no one in your room daily, cleaning, etc. Also, be sure to have a tablet or phone to keep in touch with Ivania as she is a wealth of information about how to get around, when and where the markets are, etc. I would definitely stay here again. Great value for the price point.

Thank you for staying with us, we have changed the garbage collection and cleaning according to your feedback.

  • Ivania is very helpful and nice, she helped us a lot with advice on the local transportation, restaurants, all the necessary infos. She really takes good care of her guests. The apartment is super clean, nice and with everything you need and has a terrace to the wild hill behind. And there is a family of beautiful iguanas on the roof below. The house is near Manuel Antonio park but not near the entrance, you have to walk on a little hill upwards and downwards and then take a bus. It is super convenient if you like walking or if you are traveling by car. We warmly recommend the place.

  • The unit was smaller than expected, furnished with the basics, and immaculate. Unfortunately there was a problem with the electricity and consequently no wifi, hot water, TV, or proper functioning of the AC and fridge. Hopefully this has been resolved so that future guests may avail themselves of these amenities.
The two most problematic aspects of Casa Ivania for me had to do with its relative isolation and the absence of on-site help. Ivania, who was most helpful in providing information via email prior to my arrival, was traveling abroad, and her sister in the unit below, given as a back-up resource, was nowhere to be found. I don't speak Spanish so could not communicate with the brother-in-law, who met me when I arrived.
Casa Ivania is located in a peaceful, generally quiet (you will hear nature sounds, dogs, roosters, kids, and the occasional motorcycle or car) rural village off the main road, two-thirds of the way (guesstimate) from Quepos to Manual Antonio. To get to the public bus that takes you the rest of the way to Manuel Antonio is a 15-min. strenuous (at least for me, a reasonably fit albeit asthmatic woman of 70) up-and-down hike on a gravel road. Try doing it toting heavy backpacks. Believe me, I wished for a way to call a taxi! Of course, this caveat is only applicable for some, not all by any means.

Thanks for staying with us. Electricity can not be guarantied neither in Manuel Antonio nor in Costa Rica and you were unlucky that a outrage has affected your stay ... will be updating the site according to your review. Thanks.

  • Ivania's home was a great place to stay. We arrived at the home late one evening after a long drive. Ivania was super responsive with her e-mails and was flexible with our check in time so that was really nice. The directions she provided were good so we could find it easily enough. The home is a studio on the 2nd floor. Everything in the home was new. The water and orange juice provided was a nice touch. It was also really nice to have TV with cable and wi-fi too. We felt safe here, which was really nice. The location is really good. It's close to the park and close to restaurants and other places you will want to go to (close by car or taxi). The home was also very clean, which was really refreshing. We had a great time here. We would highly recommend it. Ivania is a wonderful host.

  • The apartement was new and very clean.
To get to the next bus station you have to walk about 10 to 15 minutes but there are a lot of singing birds outside the house and the nature is beautiful and its more silent then at the main street...

Ivania gave us a lot of goog tipps for activities around Manuel Antonio.

I would go there a second time.

  • I stayed in Iviana's place for two nights. It was the best place I stayed in during my trip through Panama and Costa Rica so far (and i stayed in a couple of high scaled hotels as well). The appartment is brand new, superclean, has a nice bathroom and a decent kitchen. The room is airconditioned. Another big plus for me was the location. The appartment is situated in a local area, away from the other tourists, and on the edge of the manuel antonio park. Yes, you do need to walk a bit before you get to the restaurants and bars, but its a pretty nice walk and you might spot some monkey or parrot on your way. The family is very helpful and they will call a taxi in case needed.
