Dear Taylor, thank you for such accurate review, this will allow us to explain a little better the desert yacht club experience and what to expect when you book it.
The DYC is an off grid facility and art project, everything is vintage or recycled so unique and fragile at the same time. We always hope that our guests realize that they are staying in a livable art installation rather than a vacation rental kind of thing. from the yacht to our trailers everything is old and delicate, so please : yes, make sure to check everything with the owner or the stuff upon arrival. we constantly have parties, weddings, art productions and so on, so far very seldom happens that something get damaged . We always explain all of it and we placed instruction and welcome print out in each unit to allow guests to get the purpose of the experience that we offer.
About heating the pool: We removed the jacuzzi we had installed in the property because it was out of the vibe when we invite you to experience the off grid gateway, the nature call out to the desert, the artsy interpretation of the old west mixed with mediterranean style. Heated pool, to us, sounds like a/c in the tents:) it is not our style and we try to describe what to expect in our listings. having a pool in the middle of the desert and maintain it operational and clean is a big luxury for those who seeks contact with the desert and peace. Same is with lights and music volume. We encourage to respect and listen to nature although we are equipped for big parties for those who want to have fun.
About the address : Airbnb recently activated a new feature called self check-in instructions. we use it and all our guests get here easily since few weeks. I tried to get in touch with you upon your arrival to allow you an earlier check in (as you requested) and to make sure you received all the info (as we always do) but you couldn't answer the phone, so this is the reason of the confusion. I always suggest to read all the info in the listings accurately so you know what to expect. Ive been answering all your question in real time , you just forgot to inform me about your arrival procedures.
anyway me or someone of the staff is always present in the property ( I came several time to check on you guys , you could have asked me about all these things and i would have helped right away).
we prefer guests to interact with us for any necessity rather than take initiative especially about the electric since not everybody is familiar with off-grid living:)
Thank you again for pointing all these things out and hope that this will help Airbnb community to be aware of how the DYC experience can be enjoyed in full.
looking forward to have you guys back here soon
