About the area
We are only a short drive (3min) away from porthmeor, porthminster and carbis bay beaches. Or you can leisurely stroll down steeple lane which is always enjoyable. The nearby campsite offers a regular bus service to town for a small fee.
Hendra farm is very close (0. 5 miles) to tregenna castle where you can challenge yourself at the 18 hole president golf course or enjoy great leisure facilities such as spa, tennis and indoor/outdoor swimming pool for external guests at a small fee.
There are a good choice of quality restaurants and stylish shops but if you like a change from the hustle and bustle of St. Ives town we dearly recommend a walk up to the ancient "Knills Monument" 200 mtrs. from hendra, where you catch striking views to Godrevy Lighthouse and Gwithian Sands and hike through the Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve.
There is a local tesco's supermarket nearby, just off the main road before Steeple Lane, which makes shopping really easy.
Arrive by care or train.
We have private parking.
Pick ups can be arranged for a small fee.

We had a fantastic time in the Shepherd's hut. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking about heading to St Ives!
We arrived by train and were picked up at the station by Dale who is a very welcoming host. The hut is in a very quiet place with all amenities and great views. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return during the summer.
It was great. Amazing views over the bay. Excellent facilities - shower always warm, microwave and good parking space. Even when it was chilly outside, with the heater, it got toasty in the hut. Will definitely recommend to others!
What a fantastic place!!!!! Dale the host is a diamond/surf guru and couldn't have made our stay more welcoming. The hut, "Godrevy", was a very beautiful cosy space that was packed with EVERYTHING you'd need. The surrounding countryside is stunning with views that destroy all competition. Dale has made it special simply with hard work and knowledge gained from travelling. Its the little things though that made this stay special..... Dropping off surf boards to Porthmeor for us, taking us on a walk around the land and giving my missus a hot water bottle on arrival. We arrived on a cold blustery December night and it was great to be cocooned in the huts whilst the elements were hooling outside. I could not recommend this place enough, and if your crazy or stupid enough to pass it off then good, cos there'll be more room for the rest of us. Take it easy Dale. Big ups Tom and Linda.
Dale was a fantastic fella who immediately made me feel welcome. He is also very passionate about the huts that he has built and rightly so. What you get by staying here is a perfect mix between camping and staying at a hotel. Yes, there are seeming inconveniences such as washroom being 30 seconds walk away from the door, but what you get instead is a beautiful, serene setting where you are left alone and feel quite a part of nature. The outdoor fireplace that was right outside of my hut (named "Godrevy" i think?) definitely enhanced my experience as well.
The hut itself is VERY clean with a portable heater and warm blankets; the cooking hut (?) is fully equipped with 2 gas stoves, fridge, a nice table, and every possible cooking ware / utensils -> sink is just outside about 15 min away next to the washroom; and the washroom is VERY clean (2 washrooms next to each other) with very nice hot showers, toilets and... whatever else you look for in (website hidden). Ives itself is about 15-20 min walk, but the walk is thoroughly enjoyable and really not that long / far. Also, because the campsite / farm is on top of a hill that's a bit removed from St. Ives, the view from where you'd be staying is absolutely killing, so ya, again, give and (website hidden). Ives is absolutely picturesque and I'd love to come back and stay at Dale's hut again sometime soonish.
The Shepherds Huts were even better than we expected. Ours was beautifully furnished and there were hot water bottles waiting for us! The huts had everything you needed, including WiFi, plenty of plugs, a kettle and a heater. The bed was very comfy, the shower was hot and the view from the hut was amazing. Dale made us feel very welcome and we even got to play with the chickens.
I had a very pleasant time in St. Ives, I was looking for an isolated place to write and the shepherd's hut was perfect. The huts are on a hill outside the town centre, with a stunning view over St. Ives and the sea. It's easy to reach walking of by cab.
The hut was warm and cosy, and Dale took great care in every detail, and I think those little touches really make the difference! There was a kettle and a toaster and he left a big bottle of water so I wouldn't have to go out to the kitchen to make a tea, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a hot water bottle on the bed! There are plenty of sockets and a table so the whole space is very well equipped for a comfortable stay.
The toilets and the kitchen are outside so it is closer to camping that to a hotel room, but if you are looking fro a quiet stay and like the outdoors, I would definitely recommend it!
