Houseboat in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen, Denmark
Houseboat hosted by Jette
2 guests1 bedroom1 bed1 bath
Entire home
You’ll have the houseboat to yourself.
Come and live on a houseboat. We have rebuild one end of our boat, used recycled materials. There is a nice bedroom, kitchen and dinning room, bathroom and upstairs you have a nice bright living room. You also have your own private space on deck.

The space
The whole appartment has been rebuild with recycled and second hand materials. Its in two levels. Upstairs there is the livingroom, very bright and with big windows, so you can enjoy the beautiful view of the water and the other houseboats, from either the blue sofa or the cozy corner! A ladder will take you downstairs to the kitchen/dinningroom, bathroom and bedroom.

The kitchen is simple, but well equipped, with everything that you need to make a nice meal. Cookingplates, fridge with a small freezer, coffeemaker.

The bedroom is a half rounded room. Bright and has a roof window and a small window, that looks out on the water, where ducks sometimes passes by. Its has a queen size bed.
There is linnens for 2.

The bathroom is small, but sweet and very funktionel. It has a beautiful rounded celling, which brings sunlight down to the room. Toilet, shower, sink and a retro cabinet with towels and room for your bathroom articles.

Smoking is prohibited inside, but you can easily walk outside and smoke on the deck, where you have your own space in the front, with chairs and table.

Guest access
You will have your own entrance and the 3 rooms, plus the space in the front of the boat. So its very private. We are living on the rest of the boat, we also have our own entrance aswell.

Other things to note
Living on a boat, has its charm, but there might be other sounds then what you are use to. The boat does move a little bit, but nothing that will make you seasick!
As the flat is in two levels, you have to be able to get up and down from a ladder. Saying that, its a very easy ladder to use!
We have to older bikes that you can use. Since we have already lost one bike and often there is damage on them, we have decided to have old bikes, but they work and if there is anything wrong with them, please let us no, so we can fix it. If you loose a bike or make big damage on them, we will keep the deposit. But for small things, we will not change you!
If you prefer newer bikes, there is places all over Copenhagen that rent out bikes and very close by the boat, you can rent the electrical city bike!

Location

Copenhagen, Denmark

The boat is located in the old industrial area, where the B&W Hallerne is, which was the old shipyard. This area was once Denmarks biggest workplace, so the whole area has a raw industrial feeling to it. Now the buildings are full of small or bigger companies, workshops, art-studios and every second weekend, there is a big fleamarked in one of the big halls.
Over the summer there is also many different festivals, such as Distortion, Copenhell, food festival and many more. In 2014, in may, the Eurovision Song contest will be held at the B&W hallerne.
In 2018 The famous Street Food market is moving out here.
The Blocs&Walls, is a climbing center, opened in 2013.
The former first chef de Cuisine, from the critically acclaimed restaurant Noma, has opened his own restaurant Amass, just cross from our boat.
We have now a little local cafe/restaurant, which opened 1st of may 2016. Its a very small, but cosy cafe, with the best view, as its just down to the water. Its open every day, from 8am-11pm, where they serve homemade organic croissant and bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner is nice simple italian inspired seafood and vegetable dishes and nice organic wines!
They now have a sauna installed next to the cafe, which you can use for a small amount and then jump in the water, all year round.
The area close to the boat, has many interresting things to ofter, but if you like to eighter walk abit further or get on the bike, there is the Operahouse, Christiania, which is this amazing alternativ town in the middle of Copenhagen. Close to that, there is the very old and beautiful Christianshavn, which has many nice small shops, cafees, restaurants and canals with boats and more cafees.
