This spacious log cabin will make you feel like you're in Gatlinburg for the weekend! Decked out with log furniture, chainsaw carvings and a huge stone fireplace. Feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, when in reality you will be about 1 -2 miles from downtown Shelbyville antique malls & Horse shows, and only 15 minutes from Metro Louisville city limits. Also we are about 1 mile off I-64, just past a Cracker Barrel.

The space
This custom Real Log Home is 2240 sq ft with open floor plan. Master Bedroom, Master Bath, Half Bath and Laundry are on the main level in addition to living room, kitchen and dining areas. There are large glass windows overlooking several Koi ponds and extensive landscaping. Wrap-around porch with outdoor furniture And has grill. Large open loft, with queen-size bed , full-size bed, and additional seating area or play area for kids. Another private BR with Queen-size bed upstairs, along with an additional full bath.

& has been converted to a bed & breakfast.

Shelbyville, Kentucky, United States

Shelbyville is centrally located between Louisville (35 miles) and Lexington (45 miles). Just minutes off of I-64 your within 10 minutes of AMC Classic Theater, Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass and tons of restaurants. Interested in seeing a few Kentucky Bourbon distilleries? There are several very close by (Diageo Bulleit & Jeptha Creed, Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey) and most others within 30-40 minutes. We would be happy to arrange a bourbon excursion for our guests including Uber or limo service at an extra charge.

There are lots of things to do in Shelbyville: we have several antique shops, a winery (Talon), Gallreins Farm, outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. As for restaurants: Red Lion, Claudia Sanders Dinner House, Bell House Restaurant, 524 Bourbon Kitchen, 6th & Main Coffee house, Marimbas Mexican Restaurant (where you can sit outside on a nice evening),
La Cocina De Mama, (good!), Old Stone Inn, Kentucky BBQ, Cattleman’s (like Texas Roadhouse),Bungalow Joe’s. Lots of Fast Food too, all the usuals including White Castle & Cracker Barrel which are about 1 mile from us.
Shelbyville is a great location to do the Bourbon Trail. Jeptha Creed and Buffalo Trace are very close to us, & there are several others within 30-40 min. I would suggest you google Kentucky Bourbon Trail and make yourself a map of the ones you want to hit;) If your looking for a larger city, I would include Louisville on your itinerary. Nulu, Whiskey Row, 4th Street Live (nightlife can’t be beat) are all just waiting for you!

Semi-retired; love to read and started a book club with several friends about 15 years ago, and we are still going strong. I also love to travel, and enjoy staying in people's homes versus hotels. Oh, I guess I should tell you that I am still passionate about log homes, after building them and living in one for 34 years, I still can't get enough of them. If you decide to stay in my place, I guarantee you will not want to leave--it's clean, bright & spacious and most of all comfortable and welcoming!
