It is 4 Blocks from the beach. To 5 minutes in bus from Valparaiso. The house was built in 1918 and is located in a neighborhood that looks like an outdoor museum.
It's very close to the summer palace of the president of the country, ensuring a very safe neighborhood.

All the good things people have said about Patricio and The Little Castle are correct. He is warm, funny, very helpful and welcoming. Do keep in mind this is not a traditional B&B, it is more like a hostel-there are rooms with bunks, as well as private rooms, with shared bathrooms. Everything is very clean and comfortable. I was staying in a room that opened right into the kitchen. The room itself was nice, with a double bed of my own (I paid extra for a private room), but the noise and cooking smells from the kitchen were sometimes bothersome. I stayed for 5 nights the 3rd week of February, when many tourists are in town, so there is also noise from the bars right below The Little Castle. This is a tourist town, and is to be expected, so no one should complain about the noise-just know it will be there. Also note that this hostel is at the top of a very steep hill-you will have nice city views, but if you have trouble walking, or need an accessible building, this is not for you.
I felt my stay at the Little Castle was better than a hotel, because I met interesting people and got helpful advice about apartment hunting.
Many thanks, Patricio, Inna and Claudia, I appreciate your kindness!
Spent a few days with Patricio in vina. Great spot perched on to of cerro Castillo. Easy walking to Vina's beaches, market etc and buses on the doorstep other locations on the coast. Patricio is very easy going and a wealth of info. Would certainly recommend his home to any thinking of the area.
Little Castle is a great place to stay Viña del Mar. We stayed in a private room with a queen bed that included plenty of closet space for our things and a beautiful view of the city. The bed was a little bit hard, but I had no trouble sleeping. The place is kept very clean and Patricio is an awesome host. He'll help you out however he can and suggest places to go and things to do. Breakfast was always a nice occasion, and we met several other interesting travelers over breakfast. We stayed over the New Year and he put together an awesome dinner for all the guests on the terrace overlooking the city, and then we walked a little ways to watch the fireworks. Because we're located on a hill, we had an incredible view of the fireworks. Needless to say, if I come back to Viña in the future, I will first check for availability at Little Castle.
Hola, I spent fifteen nights at Little Castle. Patricio was truly a gracious host. He grew up in the area, so he has much local information to share. He is also a traveler himself, so he has compared other hostels and made an effort to make it convenient for travelers, most of all (for me) a kitchen, a washing machine, and internet access. In the morning, on the terrace, there is sunshine. He gave me a ride to the bus station for the return.
We loved the location and the grandure of the hostel. We were close to a lot of eating places and getting to the beach was no problem. Patricio was a helpful and charming host who was good company and also provided transportation by arrangement with us to collect us from the bus station on arrival and to take us to the ship wharf so we could get on the Holland America cruise. We enjoyed the light breakfast and were happy staying here for the three nights prior to our cruise.
Great location and Patricio's a nice guy. We didn't stay there long, but it's clean and a pretty good price. Nice little hostel for the money.
