I have a nice room for two for rent in my appartment in Amsterdam. My appartment is situated in the western part of town. It's quite close to the airport and easily accesible by bus and tram. With the tram it's about twenty minutes to the town centre. There are two railway stations close by. There is a shopping centre in the vicinity, including a night shop. Also there's the largest park of Amsterdam and a lake at waling distance, if you feel like escaping the hustle and bustle of the town.
My appartment is 128 m² and I have one bedroom available for maximum two people. Besides the bedroom you are free to use the rest of the appartment off course. That means besides the room that I have rented to my housemate.
Renting the room implies the following;
- use of internet or computer (other via wifi or by guesthouse)
- use of washing machine and dryer;
- use two public transport chip cards (you need to charge them yourself)
- city map;
- use of travel guide and other touristic information;
- fresh towels every other day;
- a stay of at least two nights (at least a payment) otherwise it's too much hustle.
Smoking is prohibited inside, if you feel like smoking please do so on the balcony. I also can't alow any pets.
I hope to see you soon in Amsterdam. If you have any requests or questions don't hesitate to ask.
(website hidden). This place i s ideal for the IBC. Only twenty minutes by public transport.

Han was caught up in a meeting when we arrived late in the evening hence his friendly housemate let us in. The place was clean and tidy though we gotta lug up our luggage 3 floors to the bedroom! Living room looks really cosy but sadly we did not have time to enjoy the space.
The house is slightly further from the airport (~40mins) and central (~25mins) than I initially thought, buses/trams are usually on time so if you miss them, you need to wait about 20-30mins for the next one.
If distance is not an issue, Han's place is really recommended and the host himself is friendly and very accommodating.
Spending a few days at Han's apartment was a real pleasure. The room was clean, cozy. The kitchen and living room were well equipped and we enjoyed using them a bid. And Han offers the full package - maps, metro cards, information about what to do and when, washing machines, fresh towels etc - that was really nice. He did care about us during our stay, offered help and support and I felt were welcomed and cared about. The real airbnb experience and why I love traveling via this platform. Thank you Han.
Han is the perfect host! He waited for us, we were kinda lost so we called him and he came to us with a big smile on his face! And his house: WAOUH! Perfectly clean, conveniently located (many tramways and BUS, the center is 20mn away) We are very very happy we stayed at his place! We highly recommend it!
I had a great time staying at Han's place in Amsterdam. If you scroll down, one of the more recent reviews is a scathing insult towards Han. Having met Han, I can say with absolute certainty that that review is completely inaccurate. Han is a very polite, friendly, and helpful host. His housemate is a lovely lady and I couldn't have enjoyed my stay more. The apartment is only a short trip away from Dam, and there is plenty to do on the way there. I highly recommend a stay at Han's.
The location was perfect with easy access to bus and tram stops that conveniently leads to Amsterdam central and Schipol airport. It's also a stone's throw away from coffee shops, supermarkets and eateries.
There won't be a dull moment as Han's housemate was very friendly and helpful. Her son, Masai (hoped I got the spelling correct), was a cheerful toddler
Thank you for accommodating us. We had a wonderful time in this cosy house being welcomed by Anna. We returned to Malaysia with fond memories and definitely to visit again. We also liked the idea that we were able to cook and do laundry since there was an infant with us (including the extra effort of providing a baby cot). Han's place was exactly what we had imagined during the days leading up to our visit - clean, quiet, homely and comfy!
We had a wonderful stay at Han's place. The apartment is spacious and clean as is the bedroom. The location is perfect as it's one bus from the airport and it's one tram to the heart of Amsterdam. We would definitely stay there again.
wonderful place,very big and (website hidden) friend and I had a good time there!Han was very gentil and helpful!
Based on Han's reviews we were looking forward to staying there but our stay was the worst experience we've had. We have been backpacking since Jan this year (5 months so far) and have stayed at several places with the use of this site.
Here are some pros and cons about our 5 day stay at Han's:
Pros: access to bathroom, kitchen and dining areas + extra room connected to the bedroom gave access to computer/desk and closet + half of a shelf reserved space in the refridgerator + close to tram/bus and 3 restaurants
Cons: Han gave bad directions, we called 3 times & Han refused to meet us, after 40 min. he sent his girlfriend to meet us + when we met him he wasn't nice + it was an uncomfortable environment, like walking on eggshells, not welcoming + roommate's kid running around & yelling downstairs that kept us awake at 1 in the morning + next day got yelled at by roommate because we asked her to keep it down the night before + Han wouldn't agree to a refund but bought us drinks & a box of chocolaes & kept telling us to forget about it + we forgot the keys in the house the day before we left & asked if anyone could meet us, he responded several hours later that he would get back to us by 7:30 we waited 45min then took the tram to a restaurant by his place to wait for him then received an email from him saying he's been waiting there since 9pm and that he was angry for making him wait + that night he shut off the wifi (the night before we left)
Amsterdam is a vibrant city in which we had a great time visiting, walking around & tried our best to stay out of the house because of the uncomfortable feeling there. We do not recommend staying here but Amsterdam is a great place to visit.
At first I didn''t'feel like saying much about this. I tried to end this in a polite way by giving them a reasonable comment, but this is truly a comment in which lies are being told. That's why I feel I do have to say something from my side.
Brandi and Isaac were not able to understand the directions, which doesn''t mean that they were bad. When they called via some stranger, I did not refuse to meet them. Truth is I gave instructions on which way to go as they had gone exactly the opposite way as the directions stated. After doing so I spotted them after about 15 minutes from the balcony and still they weren't able to spot the place. Then my girlfriend decided to pick them up across the street. Ok, they were tired, maybe that''s why they couldn't find the place when standing in front of it. I have no recollection of not being nice or being impolite to them, but hey... beauty is in eye of the beholder.
There was an incident in which a four year old kid, that was awake that night, was involved. He made some noise during the night. I was called the morning by the couple which immediatelly claimed a refund. I told them that I am not giving a refund after a single incident and that I would try to make things work by talking to my housemate, hear her side of the story and avoid any incidents during their stay. I heard from my roommate that Isaac and Brandi had made some racist remarks to her, something which off course is not done. I got quite uncomfortbale with this situation as I do feel like giving my guests a good time. My housemate decided that she would avoid any contact with the couple. Therefor this problem seemed to be solved. That''s why I asked Brandi and Isaac to join me for a drink and indeed I do admit I did give them a box of expensive chocolate. Such a bad host am I to do this. Even after what I heard and the apparent attitude of the two towards a woman of color. Thinking all would be settled by now, but how wrong I was.
The day before they left, they left the keys inside the house. Things like that can happen off course, but they were the first of all my guests with whom this happened. Off course there''s allways a first time after being a host for about 3 years. They asked or more or less demanded indeed if anyone could meet them.... I was so sorry that I could not run away from an important meeting at my office, I did however ask my girlfriend to see if she could get there to let them in. I even asked my housemate (the same one with whom they got into an argument making racist remarks) if she could be of assistance. All of this was not possible, which i do regret. So I let them know I would be there asap. I sent them about 5 consecutive messages stating that I would be there or was there, in the meantime calling them too. All without any response. After waiting for about 2,5 hours, they all of a sudden popped up. They stated that they weren''t able to message me or read my messages and off course that their phone didn''t work. In the meantime I had sent them a message that I felt a bit of a fool, rushing home to let them in and waiting in vain to of service. Shutting down the wifi system is a plain lie, nothing of the kind happened. That would be quite a stupid thing to do, as it would lead to bad reviews..... ;-) This statement is saying more about the guest than about the host. I left the house after a very tiring day. The wifi system was operational and is a state of the art 300 mb/s fast connection. So I don't know what they did, maybe the locked themselves out?
Brandi and Isaac have stated their viewpoint. I don''t think they realize that there might be another side to the story. Quite frankly I doubt if they are capapble of doing this whatsoever. In their behavior I have experienced them as very demanding, complacent and very disrespectful towards al the efforts that I have undertaken to make their stay an enjoyable one. With the hint of racism that their visit has been stained with, I think I would have been better off without guests like them. Nevertheless I am always trying my guests to make them have a good time. To me this is a matter of an incidental 'bad fruit', narrow minds will always be around.
Amsterdam is indeed a great place to visit as the the city has a lot to offer. One of the main reasons why the city has so much to offer is that there is a free athmosphere in which people are not biased by race.
Han's place was as pictured - clean, functional, comfortable. Han was a great host and gave us good information on our short 3 day holiday, as well as driving us to get train passes. Kitchen was fabulous and spacious. There is a really energetic boy living in the apartment who will brighten up your day indeed.
Han was the perfect kick off to our awesome trip through Europe. His flat was big, incredibly clean, and well maintained. He was so helpful in getting us information on all of the great things to do in Amsterdam. His place was just a 2 min walk around the corner to the tram stop and just a quick (and beautiful) 10 min. tram ride to the city. The room was great everything that we expected and more. Thank you so much for all of your help Han you were awesome! Next time in Amsterdam you will definitely be hearing from us!
