On this 3 acre land, there is another small space, sometimes rented to guests. It is called 'Glamping' and it is hard to see or hear them due to the distance, topography and vegetation. Glampers and the house do not share any common facilities. At the most, you will see the Glampers car parked at the entrance to the land, and they will walk down the driveway near the house to access their space.
Things we value: the rural nature, peaceful abundance, incredible beauty and landscaping. Amazing beach within a 10-15 min walk down a country lane, and several more world class beaches within bike, moped or short drive distance.
Most guests have a car and it is highly recommended. If not, the nearest bus stop is 2 miles away and has bike/ride facilities. Believe it or not, hitchhiking on Kauai is regarded as a safe, effective and accepted local custom.
Other Things to Note
Ideally suited for a couple, a couple with 1 or 2 singles, or with preparation on this end, 2 couples. The second bedroom represented is a convertible lanai with a twin size teak bali day bed. This can be modified to be a king bed for a couple. I've had people ask me why I don't sleep there as they think it's the most desirable and beautiful space due to the view and breeze. Things to watch out for: Natural bodies of water, a spiral staircase in the house can be challenging for those with mobility issues or dangerous for small children. Hilly terrain, Hot tub, steep [paved] driveway, intermittent utility outages are common on Kauai. The road into our sub-divison serves high end residences, agricultural estates, and is unpaved. Vegetation, and natural standing water make mosquitos a fact of life here.

Gregory was an awesome Airbnb host and his place was absolutely STUNNING! To start, the location is simply ideal. You're only a 10-15 minute drive from most of the attractions on the North Shore and the place itself is set back off the street and away from other houses in a beautiful setting in the forest. The space itself is beautifully furnished with a peaceful Eastern aesthetic that's amazing to return home to. Other details that made my stay especially comfortable were the stocked Yogi tea's, the Vitamix blender, and the organic soaps and lotions. I really couldn't ask for a better Airbnb accommodation or a better host. Thanks again Gregory!
Gregory's home definitely lived up to my expectations from other reviews! Living in the city back home, I was taken back by the complete and TOTAL darkness at night, the sounds of nature outside, and the bright stars as I stared out the window laying on the bed. And of course, the wild roaming roosters woke me up promptly after 6am each day! Gregory has a Sonos wireless sound system on both levels of his home that was just awesome for listening to music! Just a few things to keep in mind if you are considering his place - surrounded by so much lush vegetation, there are a lot of insects outside, that do find their way inside. There were mosquitos inside of the house every hour of the day. At night, tiny little flies attracted to light bulbs came in as well. Also, there are several geckos taking residence inside. This is to be expected in such a wet environment. Another important factor to keep in mind is that Gregory's place does not have A/C, like most of the residences in Kauai. He did have a very good fan that I used most of the time and I was comfortable. As long as you are cozy with all of the above, you will absolutely love your experience at Gregory's place!!
Gregory's amazing home was truly an oasis for my husband and myself during our honeymoon. The house itself is beautifully appointed, and the setting is astounding. We loved the access we had to both the North and East shore and had everything we needed. Gregory was very easy to communicate before and during our day. A magical experience!
Staying at Soul Land for a week was our first experience with AirBnb. When they asked us to tell you what we loved and what you might do better, I laughed. The only thing in the “do better” category is the impossible task of leveling your steep driveway. We loved every other aspect of our visit. Although you have heard it from others, I want to gush a little.
We sat for hours relaxing with our private view of open space surrounded by tropical vegetation with the lake in the distance. The sky constantly changed from sun to shower to pouring rain and back again. The sounds and smells were sweet and varied. The song of the little creek beside your home became operatic after a black cloud dumped its load. A wide variety of birds came out to serenade us after each shower and the local chickens had something to say morning and evening. Inside when the spirit moved, we used your Sonos sound system.
We felt comfortable in your home immediately. Your aloha spirit is manifested by trusting people you have never met to appreciate and respect your collection of art and textiles. You anticipated all our practical needs and wants including a detailed binder to help us find everything from who to call in an emergency to a list of great local places to eat.
Thank you for the privilege of sharing your home with us. We’d love to return again.
Tucked away in a seemingly remote and spacious landscaped setting, Gregory's Soul Landing offers a truly divine escape from the mainstream and worldly. Well-appointed furnishings and art along with a fully equipped kitchen make any duration of stay comfortable and pleasant. I'd happily return again!
We loved this house! My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and couldn't be happier. It was such a good value in comparison to a lot of the resort hotels on the island and much more unique. The photos represent this house very accurately, it is a one of a kind property and very secluded. The house is well equipped, clean, comfortable, well decorated, eco-friendly, and the property is beautiful (not to mention a private hot tub!). It's also minutes from the Kiluea town center where there are great shops, restaurants, cafes, a great yoga studio, etc. It's also only about 10 minutes from Princeville and ~15 minutes from Hanalei Bay and Kapa'a. Gregory was very responsive when I had questions.
The only noteworthy "downsides", but by no means deal breakers, would be the following: 1) no air conditioning, but we went into town and bought a fan and obviously we left it behind! 2) No cable TV, or at least we couldn't get it to work, but we didn't really care too much about this and there was Netflix when we wanted to watch something. As long as you are open to being a little off the grid and being more connected to the natural beauty of the island, you will love this house no matter what. I'd totally recommend this property to anyone looking for the true Kauai experience!
We had the most amazing stay at Gregory's place in Kauai. The photo's can't do this place justice - it's stunning and surrounded by fruit trees, lush rainforest and the sound of tropical birds. Gregory was also a wonderful host and very responsive to our questions (though we never saw him in person). Thank you for an amazing stay!!
