Interaction with Guests
We believe in peaceful enjoyment by our guests. Therefore interaction with owner or manager will be only if necessary mainly through email and telephone for routine business. Contact Person is available for check ins / outs and any issues that arise.
On this 3 acre land, there is another small space, sometimes rented to guests. It is called 'Glamping' and it is hard to see or hear them due to the distance, topography and vegetation. Glampers and the house do not share any common facilities. At the most, you will see the Glampers car parked at the entrance to the land, and they will walk down the driveway near the house to access their space.
Things we value: the rural nature, peaceful abundance, incredible beauty and landscaping. Amazing beach within a 10-15 min walk down a country lane, and several more world class beaches within bike, moped or short drive distance.
The nearest bus stop is 2 miles away and has bike/ride facilities. Believe it or not, hitchhiking on Kauai is regarded as a safe, effective and accepted local custom.
Other Things to Note
Ideally suited for a couple, a couple with 1 or 2 singles, or with preparation on this end, 2 couples. The second bedroom represented is a convertible lanai with a twin size teak bali day bed. This can be modified to be a king bed for a couple. I've had people ask me why I don't sleep there as they think it's the most desirable and beautiful space due to the view and breeze. Things to watch out for: Natural bodies of water, a spiral staircase in the house can be challenging for those with mobility issues or dangerous for small children. Hilly terrain, Hot tub, steep [paved] driveway, intermittent utility outages are common on Kauai. The road into our sub-divison serves high end residences, agricultural estates, and is unpaved. Vegetation, and natural standing water make mosquitos a fact of life here.
We ask our guest to feed the land kitty cat, 'Dosha' She is sweet and will love you for it. She strictly stays outside though as some of us have allergies.
The property is listed for sale and there is a minimal possibility of a showing during your stay, however no guest yet has had one. It is likely there will be no effect on you and this will be invisible but you are notified. We will make every effort to let you know the day before. I understand notifying you is the most important thing, so you are informed, not surprised or anything unexpected occurs. A showing will likely be 15-30 min max inside the house, likely to be at a time when you are out anyway, between the hours of 10-5. If you have any questions contact Gregory on my cell numb(phone number hidden). We ask that you do not speak to any of the parties on the showing no matter who they are or what they say or ask. Just pleasantly direct them to speak with Gregory and provide my cell. Thank you for understanding.

We had the most amazing stay at Gregory's place in Kauai. The photo's can't do this place justice - it's stunning and surrounded by fruit trees, lush rainforest and the sound of tropical birds. Gregory was also a wonderful host and very responsive to our questions (though we never saw him in person). Thank you for an amazing stay!!
Greg was quick to respond when we raised concerns over the number of security cameras monitoring the house. This combined with the lack of any window coverings didn't feel like Pristine Privacy:) Otherwise the accom was fine though massively over priced.
One guests opinion is certainly an exception to the dozens of positive reviews. We responded immediately when the concern was raised and asked repeatedly if they were satisfied without hearing back from them. Security cameras for the exterior only are a necessity when the home is vacant. None are in the interior. We suggested they turn them off, as the controls are in the house and no-one has access beyond that. Interesting they would include that into a review of their experience, when actually their experience was without cameras.
Many have said Michelle and Barack or any celebrities privacy needs would be met at this property. Apparently not good enough for these folks. Not one other house or structure or anyone from off property can see into the house. Window coverings would be a travesty blocking the incredible views, and harbor dust and geckos to boot.
Overpriced ? An upscale house and 3 gorgeous lakefront acres on the exclusive and world class North Shore for less than a mediocre hotel room. Hmmm. Air bnb constantly asks me to raise the rate to be more inline with other offerings in the community but I resist.
Try as we may to make all guests happy, there is bound to be one that no matter what, wont be.
Gregory welcomed us with arrival fruit and an informative notebook about the property and its surroundings. The neighborhood was fine and the property was everything we hoped for.
Josh also wrote this and sent it to me privately: " The property is everything you see and that is described. Indeed a pristine paradise nestled within a sprawling jungle-esque landscape. The property offers privacy and tranquility for those willing to veer off the typical accommodations path. A great experience."
Thanks Josh, You were a great guest. I appreciate your stay.
Our stay at Soul Land was amazing! What a wonderful place and serene environment - it felt like paradise! We did not have the chance to meet Greg or Jennifer but communication was very smooth and Greg recommended great restaurants before we even arrived on the island. Overall a wonderful stay and host that I would recommend to anyone who wants to live the full Kauai experience!
We had a great time at Pristine Privacy - it was definitely as advertised! The house is lovely and isolated without being hard to find (or requiring four-wheel drive). We enjoyed picking fruit on the grounds, sipping coffee each morning on the porches, and relaxing in the hot tub after days of exploring Kauai.
Gregory was a very respectful host - the house is kept very clean and has everything you need (big bed, kitchen appliances, streaming movies on the TVs, wifi, great guide to local food and activities). He was in touch with us leading up to the visit to make sure we had what we needed, but respectful of our privacy while there. Don't expect to run into either Gregory or neighbors during your time here, though you might see their very friendly cat, who stays outside the house.
The house is about 40 minutes from the airport and centrally located on the island, accessible to the amazing Na Pali Coast as well as the main towns of Hanalei, Princeville, Kapaa and Li'hue. However, visitors should know that nothing in Kauai is "close" (if you are used to mainland city life) and you need a car pretty much every day. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to most towns and beaches, which is well worth it but is the cost of staying at a house rather than an all-inclusive resort. For us, this was a perfect way to see the island and get to know Kauai, but it's best for people who like to explore on their own.
What an amazing week in Kauai on the North Shore! The highlight of our trip, we went to Queen's Bath, Ke'e Beach, Hanalei Bay, Kapa'a, and more! Greg's place is quite secluded, with ample visual obstruction between the property and the neighbors, yet an easy 15 minute drive to Princeville/Hanalei Bay. Greg was really friendly, and was super enthusiastic to show/share his fruit trees, and the story of his place. When we had concerns upon arrival, he went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable, and it made the stay really special.
Greg, good luck in your next adventure!
Mahalo from all of us!
My wife and I stayed at Gregory's wonderful home for 3 nights in early May, 2015. Gregory was very helpful and accommodating, and his home was amazing. Staying here gave us a wonderful experience on Kauai, and was such a nice change of pace from the traditional hotel experience. We loved the space, the sounds and scents of the surroundings, and overall were extremely glad we stayed here!
