Private bedroom with Queen size bed, kitchen privledges available for temporary stay. Located in a brick two-family home on Boston harbor, this house has spectacular views of the ocean, airport and Boston skyline. Safe neighborhood, convenient to blue line, shops, restaurants and beach. Across from airport, parking available. We accept pets.
This was my second stay here. As before, a very nice place to be. Now with the newly re-built T station open, it's even better. Afiyah is a very friendly and accommodative host.
Afiyah was a great host, and the house was really nice. My husband and I were visiting Boston for a few days, and although the location is a bit out of town, it's super easy to get to by train, and worth the drop in price! The route to their house from the station is pleasant, and it's well lit at night. I highly recommend staying here!
Afiyah's home is located directly on the waterfront in East Boston
with incredible views. As we arrived very late, we did not have
the opportunity to meet. but her home is very welcoming and
everything we needed was provided. I would definitely recommend this for your visit to Boston.
A great old New England house, with lots of character, wonderful views out at the bay, and very little noise from the airport (though the runways are no more than 1/4 mile off). The house is well sound-protected. Afiyah is very nice, and helpful. The dog, Cazador, is a character.
Contrary to some earlier reviews, the front door of the house does lock, and there was no cigarette smoke in evidence during my stay.
I'll lodge at this house again, for sure, if it's available when I go back to Boston.
The only trouble is temporary: closest subway station is under construction, so getting into Boston takes a bit longer than it otherwise would.
- Friendly and responsive host
- Neat bed and room
- Clean towel
- Flexible, low-friction check-in/check-out
- 24/7 snacks (cereal, toast, PB&J, etc)
- Beautiful neighborhood with a great view
- No engine noise heard (despite proximity to the airport)
- Nearby subway station
- Nearby pharmacy (CVS)
- Woke-up to cigarette smoke-filled house on 3 out of 4 mornings
- Broken handles and no locks on guest rooms
A practical, no-frills place to crash for a few nights. Generally, I recommend it if you're OK with (the unadvertised) cons I listed.
I stayed for 4 nights, came late and left early each day so I only had the pleasure of talking to Afiyah once - she was really nice and seemed like an interesting person I would really enjoy talking to, had I had more down time, alas.
I met Afiyah on the morning I arrived, she was friendly, showed me my room and cleaned it directly after the other people left. The room was spacious enough and you share the bathroom with two other rooms (probably up to 6 people). The big disadvantage though is that there are no locks on the doors, not on the room doors and the outside door was also never locked. So if you bring valuable belongings, you have be OK with that. The place is near the airport which can be a advantage, however it takes you at least 30 minutes to get to the centre of Boston. What I didn't know when I booked, was that they nearest subway/train station was under construction. Trains didn't stop there and the bus service to that station was very poor!!! I had to walk three times from an earlier station to the house, which took me 30 minutes walking (since there were no busses). Keep that in mind. If I will visit Boston again, I would definitely book something downtown. I think this house was too expensive for what you get.
Thanks Afiyah, living at your place was really nice. I have appreciated your tips about Boston.
Nice and comfortable place. Very clean and -though the air port is very close- it's surprisingly calm. We had no problems to sleep during the night there. You have to share the bathroom with the other guests, but it is ok. Afiyah is a very friendly and helpful person.
We will stay there there again !
Great place to stay if you are in Boston. You get really fast to downtown Boston.
LA CASA ES MUY BONITA AUNQUE NO ES MUY NUEVA Y ES FÁCIL LLEGAR EN TRANSPORTE PÚBLICO AUNQUE AHORA LA ESTACIÓN DE METRO MÁS CERCANA ESTÁ EN OBRAS Y HAY UN AUTOBÚS QUE TE DESPLAZA A LA ANTERIOR CON LA CORRESPONDIENTE PÉRDIDA DE TIEMPO (PERO NO ES MUCHO). EL DESAYUNO QUE OFRECEN ES MUY POBRE Y CON BASTANTE MALA PRESENTACIÓN. AFIYAH ES ATENTA Y RESPONDE SI LE SOLICITAS ALGUNA COSA CON RAPIDEZ. EL WIFI FUNCIONA REGULAR (UNOS DÍAS BIEN Y OTROS MAL)
