Staying at Deer Ridge in the woods can be peaceful and serene if you are a nature lover and love being in the woods. You will feel like you are in the middle of no where yet conveniently located just off of highway 112 that leads you here.

In any season you will find tranquility amongst the trees and wildlife right out your door . . . enjoy a nice glass of wine on one of the decks, or cold beer . . . maybe a fire in one of the fire pits. Taking a stroll on the property can still your mind.

The space
I’ve heard many people say this is a hidden gem. It can be quite, serene and hidden by the trees as it sits in the woods just on the edge of Mark Twain National Forest. Roaring River State Park is with in 2 miles which is a destination for many. If you like lakes and rivers, fishing, hiking or birding and the Ozark Mountains this is the place to be.

Truly being amongst the trees is the uniqueness here, witnessing it's splendor from the wild life to the night sky. This extra large spacious bed room with a queen size bed, closet, two sitting areas, a TV and frig, a walk out private entrance onto a patio with a fire pit, and a huge shared common area with everything from a screened in porch with a gas grill out door heater and table and chairs, to the indoor mini kitchen, game table, bar, dinner table and large wrap around couch to enjoy the large Smart TV viewing . . . and workout equipment . . . I have folks calling this space the 'play' room. The common area or play room is shared by those renting either the Walnut Room or the Oak Room. This Room has two private entrances as well as one common entrance shared with the guests from the Oak Room that comes in through the common area room.

I DO NOT live in this area/ floor of the lodging facility it is for guests only during their stay. I live on the floor above.

Guest access
You will have access, not only to your private room from inside but also from outside at the shared patio. This means your private room has two entrances.

You also have access to the rec room, screen porch and outdoor deck shared with those in the Walnut Room.

There is a fire pit on both outdoor deck for your enjoyment.

Other things to note
Make note of check in times between 3pm and 5pm unless other special arrangements have been made with me.

....also, I borrowed this from AirBNB Article about being a considerate Guest.

The beauty and the charm here is being away and unplugging in the serenity one can feel surrounded by nature and trees, yet being close enough (with in 15 to 30 minutes) to find some unique dinning experiences with fine food and unique shopping.

Of course The State Park and National Forest just down the road a mile and the Recreational Lakes within an easy 15 to 25 minute drive makes this place all the more true ‘gem’ of a get away . . . Taking in all of mother nature’s bounty.

I love to travel to places where I can spend most of my time outdoors hiking. I have spend most of my life staying at B & B's. Meeting new people sharing adventures and good food is great comfort to me. I can be an advid reader as well. I love to learn about new things exploring is my passion. If I am not hiking on my time off you can find me kayaking on the near by lakes and rivers. Now in my 50's I am feeling very blessed to be opening up my own B & B to be a host for others on their travels and serve the best breakfasts I can for all to allow me to be their host. I love to explore in the kitchen just as much as I do anywhere (Website hidden by Airbnb) my breakfasts you will be served, will be always changing and engaging, and sure to please. I love to get ideas from others also in my travels and now from my guests.
