Location, Location, Location!
Newport between Halsted & Clark
New to airbnb is my vintage Chicago greystone with modern amenities on a historically landmarked street in the Lake View/Boystown neighborhood.
Our humble home - built in 1890, is a restored Lake View vintage greystone building located on a quiet tree-lined residential street tucked between the bustle of Wrigleyville and Boystown. Walk to all local amenities, transportation, the beach, shops, cafes, restaurants and nightlife. Three double bedrooms and two marble full baths make this completely modernized living space perfect for 2-6 people.
Basic kitchen for light meals and snacks that functions well as a wet bar
Guest controlled high efficiency central air conditioning and natural gas forced air furnace heating
Interaction with Guests
Upon arrival you can expect an initial greeting, key exchange and introduction to the space and surrounding area. Other than responding to your requests, guests can expect minimal contact from me.
I love that Chicago landmarked this block of Newport Avenue to preserve its architectural significance as representative of high quality working class dwellings completed in the 1890's. Today, Newport Avenue and its big city surroundings are a vibrant example of what a diverse community of many cultures can be.
I am to happy to make suggestions and use my resources to help you find what you're looking for to make your stay informed and memorable.

Henry was a fantastic host! The apartment was beautiful and very comfortable. It was 60 degrees one day and snowing another day but we didn't have any problems with temperature control in the apartment. Beds were comfortable, every room and both bathrooms were very clean. Henry provided clean towels and blankets for everyone. The neighborhood was great. Close to the Brown and Red Line. We also walked around quite a bit at night and never felt unsafe. Would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone. Thanks Henry!
Henry's place was the best possible space and location for our stay! We had 6 people total, three couples. We are all at the age finally where we love our privacy and don't like to "camp out" like we did in our younger days, all on top of each other! The three separate bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect for us. Henry was very gracious and provided us with additional parking passes for the street since we had two cars to deal with. He even met me early so we could leave our cars in the neighborhood before the official check-in time. The space had everything we needed; towels, bedding, kitchen-ware (i loved having a kettle for my tea!). He made himself easily accessible as he lived within the same building. Check in and check out were a breeze. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it anyone. Thanks Henry!
Hello All! Just would like to share with everyone that this place was amazing. I along with 5 others stayed here this past weekend. The decor was emasculate, the location was prime (walking distance to Wrigleyville bars, and 10 min cab ride to Michigan Ave), and the space it provided was perfection (enough for 3 couples). Though we didn't have much interaction with Henry- his hospitality was still present- every bedside had bottled water, toiletry products in every bathroom, etc. I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Chicago- an awesome experience for a larger group of people without the large price tag you'd get with a hotel right downtown.
Henry's house is clean, comfortable and sweet! We all love this sweet house for spring vacation. Location is a little far to downtown(about 15$ über) but neighbor is quite and peaceful.
Henry is a super nice host, and the apartment is super nice as well, the decoration is beautiful and make us feel as comfortable as home. This is the best air bnb I have ever experienced!
Henry is a wonderful host, attentive and relaxed. The 3 bedroom is exactly as pictued: stylish and comfortable. Lovely linens, cozy blankets and bottles of water in each room felt homey. Our family of four adults spent three days in frigid February looking at local colleges. We had plenty of space for privacy and time together. The location is great- great restaurants, stores, public transportation. After long days in the city, going back to the apartment felt like home away from home. We loved seeing his beautiful dogs Abe and Noah in the yard every day...another homey touch. We will be back when the lake unfreezes!

My name is Henry. I'm a longtime Chicago resident and local restauranteur in the East Lake View neighborhood. I enjoy hosting airbnb guests in private apartments located in a historically preserved greystone building on Newport Avenue. I live nearby with my two golden retrievers Abe and Noah.
Most people would say I'm easy-going personally but enthusiastic when it comes to hospitality. My focus is about enhancing your experience in Chicago by making your stay easy and simple. With almost a year of hosting under my belt, I can honestly say airbnb has been a rewarding experience and a great way to meet new friends from all over the world.
