Newport between Halsted & Clark
New to airbnb is my vintage Chicago greystone with modern amenities on a historically landmarked street in the Lake View/Boystown neighborhood.
Our humble home - built in 1890, is a restored Lake View vintage greystone building located on a quiet tree-lined residential street tucked between the bustle of Wrigleyville and Boystown. Walk to all local amenities, transportation, the beach, shops, cafes, restaurants and nightlife. Three double bedrooms and two marble full baths make this completely modernized living space perfect for 2-6 people.
Basic kitchen for light meals and snacks that functions well as a wet bar
Guest controlled high efficiency central air conditioning and natural gas forced air furnace heating
Interaction with Guests
Upon arrival you can expect an initial greeting, key exchange and introduction to the space and surrounding area. Other than responding to your requests, guests can expect minimal contact from me.
I love that Chicago landmarked this block of Newport Avenue to preserve its architectural significance as representative of high quality working class dwellings completed in the 1890's. Today, Newport Avenue and its big city surroundings are a vibrant example of what a diverse community of many cultures can be.

We had a wonderful stay in Chicago!
The home was exactly as described. The place is absolutely spotless! It is comfortable and a great location for catching public transportation to explore all of Chicago. Henry was a very kind host and easy to stay in contact with.
Wow what an amazing experience! The house is located in central location, heart of BT, very convenient for all of the activities and fun things to do around. It is in between 2 "L" train locations. We took the red line all the way to downtown and China town for sightseeing and even to the beach. The house is very charming and in great condition. Henry did a great job decorating it and he did everything he could to make us feel welcomed. We appreciated his flexibility and promptness very much. We would return and recommend to everyone!
We spent 4 days at Chicago and the Henry appartment fit exactly with what we needed : close to downtown (15 min with the red line), very spacious (ok for 6 adults), without noise, very cosy and clean, usefull with all the equipment needed.
Henry was really a nice host and we enjoyed a lot our Chicago visit thanks to his perfect and lovely appartment.
Our family of 6 had a perfect stay. Henry's attention to detail was reflected in the cleanliness and comfort of our experience. There's a reason his places are so highly rated.
The apartment was exactly as advertised. The host met us with the keys, a warm smile and some helpful and friendly advice about the neighborhood (restaurants, kids' playgrounds, grocery stores, etc). He was not intrusive at all but extremely responsive if we needed anything. The apartment is very nice and slept 7 of us (my wife and me, her parents, and our 3 kids, 6, 4, 1 yrs old) perfectly. It was hot and the A/C worked great. Kitchen was just as we needed to eat some take out dinners at home and have a stove and fridge when necessary. The neighborhood is very nice as well. Free street parking is no problem and the host provided us the required window stickers. I highly recommend this apartment if you need a 3 bedroom place in this area of Chicago.
Henry was fantastic, the apartment is beautiful and located right in the hub of Boystown. The wifi worked well. The common spaces were a really great addition and made it better than a hotel. I highly recommend this place.
Henry was very nice we had no problems the accommodation was lovely. We enjoyed our stay the neighbourhood was a good choice lots of places to eat and a short walk to the lake. We loved Chicago and will be back would stay here again easy to get to downtown from his place.

About the Host, Henry
My name is Henry. I'm a longtime Chicago resident and local restauranteur in the East Lake View neighborhood. I enjoy hosting airbnb guests in private apartments located in a historically preserved greystone building on Newport Avenue. I live nearby with my two golden retrievers Abe and Noah.
Most people would say I'm easy-going personally but enthusiastic when it comes to hospitality. My focus is about enhancing your experience in Chicago by making your stay easy and simple. With almost a year of hosting under my belt, I can honestly say airbnb has been a rewarding experience and a great way to meet new friends from all over the world.
