Basic kitchen that functions well as a wet bar
Guest controlled high efficiency central air conditioning and natural gas forced air furnace heating
Wifi
Washer/Dryer

Interaction with Guests

Upon arrival you can expect an initial greeting, key exchange and introduction to the space and surrounding area. Other than responding to your requests, guests can expect minimal contact from me.

The Neighborhood

I love that Chicago landmarked this block of Newport Avenue to preserve its architectural significance as representative of high quality working class dwellings completed in the 1890's. Today, Newport Avenue and its big city surroundings are a vibrant example of what a diverse community of many cultures can be.

My staff and I are happy to make suggestions and use our resources to help you find what you're looking for to make your stay informed and memorable.

  • We had a family reunion in Chicago, Henry is a great host and his place is awesome!

    April 2014
  • Henry has an incredible flat. I loved everything about it. The interior design is clean and beautiful. Simple and elegant, with wonderful posters and art work. Everything from the choice of paint colors, the cabinets, the hardwood floors and the wonderful simple kitchen are remarkably tasteful. The flat itself is of high quality construction being an old brownstone type, so the walls are solid and thick. It is quiet and on a fabulous street walking distance to restaurants and downtown. Henry met us when we arrived and showed us the place, gave us the keys, gave us parking permits for our entire stay which made our transitions of arriving and departing perfectly easy. We thought it would be difficult to find parking but this was not the case thanks to Henry's foresight of giving us permits for our entire stay. What was also striking was how clean the place was. Towels and sheets were wonderfully fresh and clean. The bathrooms were impeccable. There is no doubt where I'll be staying on our next trip to Chicago. Lastly, Henry is a really nice guy.

  • A really great place. Clean and appointed with the things we needed. Easy to catch a cab at the end of the street and easy walking to as well.

  • This place is AMAZING. It's SUPER close to many restaurants and bars, yet not right on Halstead. We were able to have separate rooms for each of my friends and I, which is a TOTAL bonus when traveling with buddies. Henry was on point and available when we needed items, such as an iron and ironing board. The house is immaculate and decorated with a modern touch. We will stay here again on our next trip to Chicago!

  • Henry's apartment is as amazing as the pics shown. The apt is very well maintain and spotless. The neighborhood is great and convenient. For me who use to live in chicago myself, I am beating myself up for not having such a great apt when i was there.

Also henry is such a great host. He is very responsive to any queries or request we had for him.

It's a 5 stars listing for sure and we will come back again and again and again and again.

  • Wow, this place was perfect! The host, Henry, was amazing. Not only was he responsive, he was very helpful, which is important to those who had not visited Chicago before. The place itself was very spacious, clean, and well decorated - which made us immediately feel comfortable and at home. The location was prime, less than a 5 minute walk to the "L" Red Line. The neighborhood itself, while busy, was very quiet and we encountered zero-issues during our stay.

If you're visiting Chicago, North-end or otherwise, I'd highly recommend Henry & his place. We hope to stay again!

  • This appartment is really amazing, modern and has everything you need. The location is perfect, near train/bus and grocery. Henry is the best host you can find, answers always very fast and takes good care of you.
We ate one night at his restaurant, named Ping Pong which is also very good.
I recommend this appartment and definitely know we will come back!

  • I came back to Henry's condo again, because I know a good thing when I see it. Staying at this condo, you experience Chicago at a great location, and Henry has this condo to meet whatever needs you might need with great style! I am always confident that if I need anything or assistance Henry will help me out. Thanks Henry for the great experience!

  • Our stay at Henry's place was absolutely amazing. Henry was very accommodating and always available to answer any questions we had. The apartment was beautiful and just perfect for our stay. The location was perfect for easy access to the other parts of the city since it was only about 2 block from the L-train; we didn't have to use our vehicle once during our 5 day trip. We will definitely be staying with Henry again during our next trip to Chicago.

About
Howdy, My name is Henry. I'm a longtime Chicago resident and local restauranteur in the Lakeview neighborhood. I recently started a boutique hotel in a historically preserved 3-flat on Newport Avenue nearby where I live. Most people would say I'm easy-going personally but enthusiastic when it comes to hospitality. Since I'm brand new, my focus at the Newport Inn will be about making your experience relaxing, simple and spotless. I think airbnb is going to be a great way to meet guests and friends.
