This apartment in the West Rogers Park (or West Ridge) neighborhood of Chicago is spacious, welcoming, cozy, and quiet.
PLEASE BE CAUTIONED THAT THIS LOCATION IS NOT IDEAL FOR TRAVELERS LOOKING TO EXPLORE CHICAGO AS A VACATION, AS IT IS ONLY NEAR BUS LINES, NOT THE EL TRAIN.
As an additional potential perk, this apartment is toddler and child friendly! See full description for details. Thanks!
Hi there traveler.
Thanks for considering staying in this quiet, low-key area of Chicago. The West Ridge neighborhood is a safe, spacious, vibrant area that would help make your trip comfortable and easy.
I am a short walk to Devon Ave, which hosts the city's widest array of Indian cuisine, so if that is something that you're interested in, you'll find amazing dinners a stone's throw away.
The apartment is itself is spacious and very private feeling, as this is the top floor of a two flat with just two other people living in the building in the downstairs unit. The room available to you is spacious, cozy, and purposely simple. This room is just off the kitchen, which is open for you to use to cook and to store your own food.
There is a reliable air conditioner for the summer months, and toasty, reliable heat in the apartment for winter time.
The bed is either firm or very soft. It is a Tuft and Needle mattress, less than a year old. As such, it is quite firm. However, we provide a removable mattress topper if you prefer a softer bed.
You will have your private room, and you are welcome to use the kitchen to cook and store food in. There is a back yard you can hang out in, and if you smoke, you can indulge back there, just not in the house.
Parking on my block and further south is permit free, however, on Campbell NORTH and SOUTH of my apartment's block does have permit restrictions. There is further permit free parking around the corner and on the next block west.
The living room has a TV which you are free to use. I rarely watch it, but you are welcome to browse my netflix account if you want to relax after another awesome day in Chicago.
I welcome you to have any tea or fruit you find in the kitchen. I quit drinking coffee, but if you want to make some at home, I have a French press you can use if you bring your own coffee.
Interaction with guests
I do live in the master bedroom in this apartment, so to reiterate, this is a shared apartment. I'm happy to chat and offer advice on the city and places to go/see, but I'm not nosy by any means. And, truth is, I know you're probably busy with your itinerary, and I'm also busy with working days (I work weekends too) so we don't have to become instant travel buddies. I almost always need to leave by 8:30 a.m. on days that I have people staying with me. I'm very respectful of people who want to wind down in peace and quiet.
Other things to note
My home is open half the week, as the other half my twin five year olds live here with me, so there will be plenty of youthful paintings strewn about.

Not much to say outside of common sense. Bringing undeclared guests is not welcomed. We don't mind having a beer with you, and I don't mind how much you party outside of the house, but upon returning, peace and quiet is expected. I have no preference at all how late you choose to stay out, but I usually work in the morning.
