The check – in time must be set prior the guest's arrival therefore it is very important to communicate with us through airbnb message board in order to make your check – in arrangements! Once the check – in arrangement is made it is very important to show up on time or in case of delay inform us as soon as you know that you're gonna be late. Brilliant location. Its bang in the middle of all the action. Neat and clean lodging. Anita was sweet and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying at her place when visiting Gothenburg!
Wir waren sehr Willkommen. Schönes Haus in einer sehr schönen Gegend
A great location and lovely, big rooms with a homely feel. Lovely interior and all conveniences you would need.
The good news about this apartment is that it is in the center of town and it would be very hard to find similarly decent, safe accommodations at a similar affordable cost in this location. But you need to know that it is basically a hostel, not a B&B. The host owns a number of properties and has a manager who meets guests and settles them in. We had one comfortably large room that matched the photo. As the listing states, there were more beds than we signed up for, so it could acommodate a larger group. During our 2 day stay there were at least 5 other people in other bedrooms, all of which seemed able to accommodate more than 2 and up to 5-7 people, and the manager told us they have had as many as 14 staying in the location at one time.
There is only one bath facility for all these people, and it is as basic as it gets -- a small room with a shower crammed into one side with a steep climb up, a sink takes up the rest of the space, which has marginal ventilation. The toilet is literally a water closet across the hallway. It's fine if you're standing, but if or when you need to sit down there really isn't enough room to do so comfortably. While small and cramped, it's all clean.
The home itself is crammed with storage of clothing, bedding and other items, giving the whole place a cramped feel. It's clean, but cluttered. Guests have access to a full kitchen with plenty of dishes and cookware, though we were asked to leave dishes in the sink for the manager/owner to clean. The ones there when we arrived seemed to be still there when we left, along with a few more. But there didn't seem to be much cooking going on, mostly cold breakfast stuff. As the listing states, no breakfast is offered at this B&B.
Its great location is also a drawback -- the nightlife in this neighborhood in summer is robust and loud. With no air conditioning open windows on summer nights are a must. While these only opened a small amount, apparently because of concerns with damage from any sudden wind gusts, they were open enough in our street-side room to make sleep difficult if you are sensitive to noise. Earplugs recommended.
We have stayed in lots of "exotic" 2 and 3 star hotels in our travels around the world, and I stayed in many real youth hostels in my younger days. I have to say that this apartment stretched the limits of our mid-60 year old tolerances. Younger travelers might find this less challenging.
Ingen frukost serverades. Kunde koka kaffe eller te på morgonen.
