I had a wonderful couple of nights at Eugenia's, who was incredibly welcoming and warm. The flat is beautiful and very well placed to explore the city: av. Paulista and a metro station are 2 mins away. Eugenia introduced me to the centre of São Paulo too, which is very much worth exploring. She also prepared a delicious breakfast, which included her own home made sauces and jams. Basically, I could not have wished for more. Thanks again.
I had stayed here 3 years ago and had forgotten how convenient the location is - one block from the Metro, restaurants of all price ranges nearby - but more, the warmth and attentiveness of Eugenia. Muita simpatica! No need to wander. Anymore!
It was my first time in Brazil and I was quite nervous to say the least! I was by myself and chose to book via airbnb so I would have the assistance of a local and some home comforts. Eugenia was lovely, she waited as long as she could for my arrival which was very kind. I was heavily delayed due to getting lost! When I did finally arrive I was greeted by the housekeeper who is very kind but doesn't speak a word of English. It was quite a funny start but with the help of google translate I was shown the shower, bedroom etc. The neighbourhood is in in great location (5 minutes walk to Green Metro line and Av. Paulista). The house is beautiful and there is plenty of space, I was slightly disappointed with the bed in the guests room. It is a very small single, but I still managed to zonk out comfortably when I went to bed. I had sole use of a bathroom and breakfast included was a very nice touch. Eugenia was very accommodating and I felt at ease in her home.
Eugenia's place was very comfortable and welcoming! She did everything she could to help me explore Sao Paulo ad went above and beyond with helping me with transfers to the airport.
Be advised that if you are allergic or fearful, she does have two dogs (Bulldogs-protective but friendly) that are not included in the listing. She keeps them away from guests for the most part but they are sweet dogs.
The apartment is well located, but in the map, originally, it appeared to be further down Av. Paulista, near MASP, hence why I chose it. The location was different, but fine. It would be good for AirBnB to adjust the correct location.
The host was polite, although a bit edgy at times, and I never quite knew in which mood I would find her. The apartment is very nice and clean, but full of knick-knacks, and I was a bit afraid of knocking things over.
I stayed in the office, which is a nice room, but I was a bit disappointed with the sofabed, which was rather small. Due to previous reviews, I expected a bigger and more comfortable bed.
Again, I had to remove a few ornaments in order to lay my stuff out, but I took care to put it all back before leaving. Access to plugs was difficult, and I had to unplug the bed side lamp to charge my devices. And in order to reach the other plug in the room, I had to move all cushions from the sofabed that had been placed behind the armchair in order to use my computer to work.
In the bathroom I was using, I also had to get a plant out of the way to place my toiletries, but I put it back before I left. The shower is pretty good too.
All and all, it was a pleasant stay, but in comparison to the amazing reviews I read, I was disappointed with the small bed and lack of space to put my things and to plug my devices. Location is excellent for those who need easy access to the metro and Jardins.
Apart from the day that the housekeeper was there, I had to fix my own breakfast on the other two days that I was staying. As the host advertises the fact that she is a chef who provides breakfast as part of the stay, I had also expected an offer in that regard, but it never materialised.
A warning to atheists and agnostics, you may feel overwhelmed by the number of religious images and items around, but the host did not seem particularly religious. Personally, I did find the amount of iconography overwhelming to start with.
The kitchen is pretty good, with an ice machine, which is handy on warm days.
The housekeeper and doormen were very nice and polite. The entrance to the building is beautiful. It is pretty close to the metro too.
The dogs are kept away from guests and are well trained. I didn't hear them bark and the house was very clean.
Overall was good stay, although I didn't feel it warranted the gushing reviews on this listing.
