Quick, before it's gone! As every house in Venice turns into a Bauhaus box, enjoy our Beach Bungalow in the heart of Venice - A 5 minute walk to Abbot Kinney Blvd (named 'the coolest street in America' - GQ), to the famous Venice Boardwalk, Venice Canals, and the beach.
-Bedroom: A large wood-floored room with a super-comfortable tempurpedic queen bed, a nightstand and closet. The blackout curtains keep the sun out, and you can open them when you want to flood your room with the never-ending sun at the beach!
-Kitchen: Fully-stocked with local coffee, a french press, glassware, flatware, pots/pans, eco-friendly cleaning products, refrigerator, kettle, organic vegetables, vintage stove, etc. etc.
-Living Room: Spacious wood flooring, a very comfortable love-seat, a couch, workspace. A great place to read and rest after exploring the city!
-Back Yard: A cozy space with a large fireplace and outdoor seats. There is also a yurt that doubles as my room.
Our house is next door to a community garden, with a nice shaded outdoor table which you're welcome to eat at. Your stay includes all linens and towels, heater, fan, anything you need, etc.
I make every effort to be as eco-friendly as possible, using only 'green' cleaning products, energy-saving bulbs, recycled paper towels, and so on. There is always plenty of street parking available, and I have bikes/skateboards for borrowing.
Venice is also California's famous hub for vegan, organic, raw eating and the place to be on a Sunday evening if you're looking to catch a drum circle on the beach or watch the sunset from a rooftop bar.
o 10 minutes to Downtown Santa Monica, LAX, Downtown Culver City
o 30 minutes Hollywood, Downtown L.A. and Malibu o 35 minutes to Universal studios

Check-in time is 1pm, and check-out time is 11am. (You're welcome to drop your bags off earlier if you let me know in advance).
The other rooms in the house are rented out to airbnb guests as well. There is an average of 4-6 people at the house at any given time. You are welcome to use any of the communal space in the house for lunches, dinners, working, whatever you'd like. I live on-site, and I work full-time, so I am not always around but I am always reachable. When I'm home, I'd love to share a meal and get to know you, and I'm happy to keep to myself if that's what you prefer. I am looking for clean, respectful guests. I enjoy company and gatherings, however this is not a party house. I am always happy to recommend restaurants, bars, clubs, neighborhoods, activities, etc. Just let me know what you're looking for! I am very friendly and love to meet travelers and I invite you to make yourself at home during your stay!

This place is in a great location, but there are some details about the house itself that could use a little attention. In comparison with other airbnb places where I've stayed in the same price range, this one was not quite as neat, not quite as well-served. However, Leah was very sweet and helpful. Overall my stay was good.
Leah was very nice. The house was pretty dirty! Im not a clean freak nor am i a negative nancy. But huge amounts of dust under my bed plus garbage from the guest before me, the bathroom was gross. dirt and grime in the shower. The shower mat was dingy and made my skin crawl. I even mentioned how gross it was. she said "you should have seen the other one" I didnt even want to put my soap on the showers window ledge cause it was so nasty. Trash in the living room hidden by a privacy screen!! WTF I even took photos cause nobody would believe that. On a bright note the other guests where nice. I have traveled all over the world and stayed in some questionable places This was certainly the dirtiest place i have ever stayed. I was only there for two nights. I considered leaving but It would have been too much of a hassle. If the place gets cleaned up it will be nice. Oh and there are three other guest rooms and none of the doors lock. That was a bit strange to me. Maybe its better now and i hope it is. I normally talk about the silver lining and see the best in things but as a traveler i would have like to see a true post on the quality of this place. So I will be the one. Apparently this house sold and is going to be demoed soon.
I wonder if thats why they dont care about the upkeep... Not a bad place to stay for a night or two if they clean it up. thats my silver lining
Lovely big sunlit room, comfy bed - looks exactly like the photos.Very quiet residential street. The house was clean and tidy. There were other guests staying, but I didn't see them the whole weekend. Marlon is really nice and friendly, made you feel at home. The house is really close to the canals (which are gorgeous), and a few minutes walk to Venice Beach. You can walk to Santa Monica in about 40 mins - or there are buses nearby (I'm a walker). Abbot Kinney is about 5 mins around the corner, a safe walk to do at night. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone, can't fault the price, the location or the house. And the locals in the veggie garden next door are all very friendly and smiley - which coming from New York, was a BIG attitude change.
Although Marlon is a nice host with a great personality, this bungalow seems to have not been cleaned in months. The floors were so dirty I was inclined to leave my shoes on while walking around the place. The bathroom floor was filthy as was the shower/tub. The bathroom rug looks like it has never been washed and was cringe worthy to stand on. If you're going to rent out your place and don't want to do the cleaning, hire a maid!!! It's a business after all!
Marlon was, easygoing, kind... just perfect!!
Dave and I had a great time staying here. Marlon is a very accommodating host -- he even let us come back the evening we'd checked out as we had nowhere to change for New Year's. The room is very clean and comfortable and the location is great. I just want to highlight that you are staying with other airbnb guests as Marlon rents out multiple rooms in his house, so you have to be ready to share the bathroom with 4-5 other people -- but it's not a big deal. Overall, its a great place to stay. Thanks so much, Marlon!
Friendly host, great location cmose to Venice Beach and nice bars and restaurants.
Marlon was a great host. He was always responsive, provided us with a map and gave us practical advice on where to go. He also invited us to a bon fire in his backyard where we met his friends.
The place was in a really accessible neighborhood of Venice, close to the canals. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable.
I really enjoyed staying at Marlon's place! Very nice guy as was his roommate Scott. Plenty of privacy, and very close to the Venice Canals, Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey. I would definitely stay here again.
