About this listing
Escape from it all and watch the sun set as you listen to the soothing ocean waves from the solace and shade of our porch swing. Our charming Blue Ocean Mist Room sleeps up to three between a twin bed and full-size trundle bed.
Enjoy a getaway at our quaint and quiet family home in the lovely Fort Dick area. We are located only ten minutes from Crescent City and twenty minutes from Brookings, Oregon in a friendly farming community. Peace and tranquility abound on our pleasant 2 acre abode.
The Blue Ocean Mist room is decorated in lovely blue and white tones that match the sound of the sea distantly audible. The two beds in this room will accommodate up to three; one bed is an old fashioned iron twin bed and the other is an expandable trundle bed which pulls to a full size bed.
Our home is inviting and we offer two rooms (listed separately) with comfortable beds, a twin and a trundle in one room and a full in the other. The rooms are comfortable and homey but nothing fancy. You are welcome to spend time feeding or playing with our animals which include chickens, dwarf and lion-head bunnies, goats, and two silly and affectionate doggies. You are provided limited kitchen access to heat any left over goodies from nearby or in town restaurants or enjoy a cup of tea while sitting on the porch swing of the large shaded front lawn. The bathroom is shared but if you are the only guest, you will have sole access to the bathroom.
In the morning, help yourself to a light self-serve breakfast including fresh hardboiled eggs from our chickens, bagels, cereal, and coffee.
Take a leisurely stroll through our pasture to see our goats or sit and relax in our gazebo as our rabbits meander about the garden and nearby pond.
We truly enjoy sharing our home and this beautiful area with you and we hope you will enjoy your stay!

Ed and Elsie are two young professionals who escaped from the city life to return back to their roots in Northern California. While not busy at work, we keep ourselves busy transforming our home into the Sky and the Woods Ranch, tending to our micro-farm which includes a fledgling garden and fruit trees, dwarf and lionhead rabbits, four bumbling goats, seventeen chickens, two peacocks, and two fun-loving puppies. We love the Fort Dick area for its relaxing rural lifestyle and its proximity to the wonderful sites the area has to offer.
We love heading to the beach at any given time and the ability to walk for miles with nobody in sight. We enjoy hiking and biking and viewing the farmland that surrounds the area we live.
We are eager to welcome you to our home and help you encounter some of the treasured sites and tasty restaurants that are nearby. Elsie is proud to show off the decor in the house which changes from holiday to holiday and Ed is always ready to recommend a nearby place to take a great photograph.
