About This Listing
Escape from it all and watch the sun set as you listen to the soothing ocean waves from the solace and shade of our porch swing. Our charming Blue Ocean Mist Room sleeps up to three between a twin bed and full-size trundle bed.
Enjoy a getaway at our quaint and quiet family home in the lovely Fort Dick area. We are located only ten minutes from Crescent City and twenty minutes from Brookings, Oregon in a friendly farming community. Peace and tranquility abound on our pleasant 2 acre abode.
The Blue Ocean Mist room is decorated in lovely blue and white tones that match the sound of the sea distantly audible. The two beds in this room will accommodate up to three; one bed is an old fashioned iron twin bed and the other is an expandable trundle bed which pulls to a full size bed.
Our home is inviting and we offer two rooms (listed separately) with comfortable beds, a twin and a trundle in one room and a full in the other. The rooms are comfortable and homey but nothing fancy. You are welcome to spend time feeding or playing with our animals which include chickens, dwarf bunnies, goats, and two silly and affectionate doggies. You are provided limited kitchen access to heat any left over goodies from nearby or in town restaurants or enjoy a cup of tea while sitting on the porch swing of the large shaded front lawn. The bathroom is shared but if you are the only guest, you will have sole access to the bathroom.
We have a busy schedule so we can usually only offer you cereal, a bagel or some toast with homemade jam for breakfast. There are a hot tub, small badminton net and rackets, and horseshoe pit on the premises which you are welcome to use. Or take a leisurely stroll through our pasture to sit and relax in the comfortable shade of the picnic table that is nestled in the woods in the back.
We truly enjoy sharing our home and this beautiful area with you and we hope you will enjoy your stay!

Only stayed one night but it was a quiet, country setting and Ed and Elsie were super accommodating.
Nice and clean room. Ed and Elsie are excellent hosts. We very much enjoyed meeting them and staying at their farm.
Ed and Elsie are such genuine and warm-hearted hosts. I would seriously consider going back to Crescent City just for them. I enjoy the conversation with Ed. He's such a nice and intelligent person. As for the bnb, it's a lovely room with a twin bed and a full-size bed for my parents. We love the decorations by Elsie, very elegant and cosy. You two really made our day on our road trip!
My daughter and I spent the night at Ed and Elsie's place. The room was very comfortable, clean and charming. Ed was very accommodating. Unfortunately we did not get to meet Elsie. The stay included a very nice breakfast. A bonus was all the animals on the property, especially the two super cute dogs! Would definitely come back again if we return to the area!
The bedroom and bathroom were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Ed was top-notch about communication before we arrived. We didn't get to meet Elsie. We arrived late in the evening, and the other guest room adjacent to ours was occupied and we could hear a bit of snoring coming from there. Not a big problem, just a possibility to be aware of. The breakfast was simple, but good, and included hard-boiled eggs from the hens in the backyard.
Ed and Elsie were great! Breakfast was delicious and they were very friendly. Their location was great- we loved Gordi Bro's Mexican food
Ed and Elsie were wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful, exactly as pictured and the area was wooded and very close to the ocean. We drove in as the sun was setting which made it extra special. They also provided an amazing breakfast with fresh eggs from their chickens, homemade muffins, and an impressive spread of breads, jams, and juice. They also recommended a great hike that we did the next morning. I was traveling with a friend and he stayed in the day bed - both beds were very comfortable and the room was very comfortable for two people. It was a great stay and would definitely stay with them again if I return to the area.

About the Host, Ed And Elsie
Ed and Elsie are two young professionals who escaped from the city life to return back to their roots in Northern California. While not busy at work, we keep ourselves busy transforming our home into the Sky and the Woods Ranch, tending to our micro-farm which includes a fledgling garden and fruit trees, dwarf and lionhead rabbits, two bumbling goats, seven chickens, one unruly rooster, a parrotlet, a finch, two fun-loving puppies, and an outdoor cat.. We love the Fort Dick area for its relaxing rural lifestyle and its proximity to the wonderful sites the area has to offer.
We love heading to the beach at any given time and the ability to walk for miles with nobody in sight. We enjoy hiking and biking and viewing the farmland that surrounds the area we live.
We are eager to welcome you to our home and help you encounter some of the treasured sites and tasty restaurants that are nearby. Elsie is proud to show off the decor in the house which changes from holiday to holiday and Ed is always ready to recommend a nearby place to take a great photograph.
