This property is 8 miles south of Kailua Kona Village. It is at 1500 feet elevation which gives cool nights and warm days.
The house is like your own. Great kitchen, large dining room that seats 8 at the table, spacious living room, wireless internet throughout the house and property, Newly renovated baths.
For your safety, please do not enter areas where gates are closed. This is a working farm.
Interaction with Guests
If I am on island I will interact as often as you desire.
The area is agricultural, so there is distance between farms. It feels like you are really out in the country. Very quiet except for early morning wild roosters.
Like almost everywhere on this island a car is necessary.
Other Things to Note
The home is an open air Island style home. Please bring warm clothes for the evenings.
There is parking for 2 cars only. If your group has more than two cars, the third car must park outside the property.
The property is NOT child friendly. There is lots of lava and rough terrain. Please call to chat before booking, if you are traveling with someone under 10.
Please read House Manual that is emailed after booking.
Fantastic home with stunning views of Pacific and sunsets from the huge and private lanai. The home is beautifully furnished and very well maintained. Pleasant breezes throughout the house. Very convenient base for exploring the Big Island. Special thanks to Elaine for her hospitality.
This is one of the nicest homes that my wife and I have ever stayed in, bar none. The place is beautiful and the grounds are also. Kitchen has everything you will need to cook. Beds were very comfortable and the whole place if finely decorated. We stayed here 5 days and could easily stayed a month.
The house is absolutely beautiful. We woke up every morning to panoramic views of the ocean and it felt like a dream! If you need anything there is always someone available to help and the house and kitchen is really well stocked in general. You definitely need a car to get around the big island, and it is a drive to get to closest shops and restaurants. Also have to be really careful about noise after 10pm. Would definitely recommend the property though, will never forget the beautiful sunsets on the Lanai :-)
This home is amazing, we highly recommend without a doubt for anyone to stay here. Elaine welcomed us and gave us a very thorough introduction to the house, so well cared for by such a generous and kind hearted woman. The views are spectacular. You are obviously not right in the touristy area (which for us was the appeal) but this is minutes away should you choose this. For our family of my husband, myself and his parents, it was much nicer to be in a private secluded location with the lushness of the garden and the sounds of nature, a respite from the activities of the day. The home itself is open, airy, artistically designed and very comfortable. The kitchen was outstanding, a joy to use, eating out on the lanai or in the beautiful dining area made for many positive memories. This place is a gem, very secluded but also completely accessible, five to ten minutes away from Kailua Kona area. Just writing about it brings a smile to my face.
We had a great time there.
We loved a big kitchen and lanai.
Bed was clean and comfortable.
The sunset view was fantastic from lanai.
Thank you for everything:)
Very disenchanted by our stay here. The strict cancellation policy gets you stuck- what Warren doesn't include in his listing is his long, meticulous house rules. For example, the quiet times aren't listed nor described. The "quiet hours" are more like "silent hours." During "quiet hours", which is after 10pm, you literally are not allowed to have any activity, including any walking or talking inside the house.
His pictures aren't accurate. The business center with computer and printer no longer exists. It has been replaced by a day bed that has an irregular yellow stain on the non-fitted sheet.
Although a beautiful front yard and backyard, I wouldn't recommend this house to anyone because of the owner.
What should I say - the house is great, peacefull, eco-designed, near the center and beaches (10-20 minutes drive), overlooking the sea, the best stay we ever had in a rented house. The bath and master bed room w/o windows (only with moscito nets) is more than great - we are speachless - and Warren and Elaine are such great hosts - we will definitely will come back - only because the house is so great (but do not miss manta night dive and manta night snorkeling which you never find on an other edge of the world, too). Warren, we love you house !!!!! Thanks for letting us staying in your private house.
