The neighborhood was a great location, central to downtown but not on a busy street. Cheryl made me feel at home by being in contact with me so I was set up in her place with keys, clean sheets, wifi etc. I appreciated the extremely neat accomodations, access to an iron and basic amenities that Cheryl was extremely helpful in showing me where in the apartment these items were. The building was very safe and high tech access system. Overall a great central Austin place to stay.
The home was beautifully decorated and very home-y. I loved all the natural lighting! The location was perfect as well. 2 thumbs up!!!
This apartment was great. Very tidy, positive messages throughout every room. Great location - make sure you walk to Casa de luz for a meal. Quick ride downtown, very good common areas, easy building access. Will certainly stay again.
Mark: Let me start by saying that Cheryl was an incredible host. We started communicating back and forth about a week before our trip. Cheryl wanted to make sure we worked out all of the important details of our trip before we got there -- Loved that!
Her place is exactly how you see it in the pictures on Airbnb. Cozy, warm, and inviting are some great words to describe it. I'm really happy we choose to stay in Cheryl's place as opposed to staying in a hotel, which we almost did.
Her place located perfectly (IMO). We were a few minutes drive from almost everything we wanted to do and see. The first whole foods? 2 minutes away. Lick Ice Cream? 3 minutes down the road. Odd Duck? Just a minute away. Food, obviously, is a big part of any trip we take.
Long story short, we will definitely be staying in Cheryl's place again in the future. If you get the chance to stay in her Modern Zliker Park Apt., do it and don't think twice!
My husband and 2 daughters (ages 3 and 1) rented Cheryl's apartment and it is just as pictured. It is tastefully decorated, the kitchen is fully stocked (I even made beef stew in her crockpot), plenty of cleaning agents and detergents and anything else you would have at your own home. We loved how comfortable her King sized bed was (like a 5 start hotel) and it was nice to have plenty of space for our daughters to curl up with us in the morning. She also provided a bed for them to sleep in in the living room.
The house was safe, clean and did I mention...comfortable!
The condo is located in an open concept apartment building with a swimming pool where the girls and I spent some time dipping our feet to cool off. It's a 20 minute scenic walk to Zilker park (with yummy restaurants along the way), and another 20 minute walk to Whole Foods in the opposite direction (which we frequented regularly for food AND their cool rooftop playground). It's also about 25 minutes walk to downtown via the pedestrian walk way (which honestly is a destination within itself).
As for Cheryl, she was the perfect host. She greeted us upon arrival and helped us schelp our gear (which included 2 car seats, 1 stroller, 2 overnight bags and a few smaller bags) up to her apartment and then back down again when we were departing. It was totally beyond the call of duty and very much appreciated. Her home is as organized as she is and she was gracious enough to give me a heads up on things to do in the area while my Hubby was busy at the SXSW conference. She also provided us with a little breakfast food to jump start our visit and granted us permission to use any toiletries that we might need during our stay. She was a gracious host.
Thanks Cheryl for renting us your apartment for the week. It honestly felt like home!
Comfortable apartment in a great location just south of the Lake and close to many bars, restaurants and cool neighborhoods. Cheryl is a warm host. I would definitely stay there again.
All exactly as described. Great location, easy interaction to check in, fantastic apartment.
I moved to Austin, TX in 2011 for my job in Medical Device Sales. I grew up on a dairy farm in Illinois, so I love to cook and enjoy the outdoors. My friends would tell you that I'm a good person, optimistic, fun and have a silly sense of humor.
I love to travel, try new things, workout, eat good food, and hang out with good friends. I very rarely watch television because I'm working towards achieving the "4-Hour Workweek" lifestyle design!
When I travel for vacation, I like to do what I want, when I want. I don't like itineraries and I don't like schedules, but I do love a good meal and a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay in the heart of everything.
When you're a guest at my house, you'll have fresh sheets and towels and you'll easily find everything you need, as I am very organized and clean.
5 things I can't live without would be good friends, a comfortable bed, clean clothes, a nice shower, and fresh air.
