This is a great opportunity to be in a beautiful and artistic environment, since Santa Teresa is known as the home for the artists in Rio.
I live in a house located in the historical neighborhood of Santa Teresa, with lots of green around in a very peaceful place.
It’s a charming area, with bars and restaurants.
Very near to the best spots in the neighborhood (stores, restaurants and bars), only 10 minutes by taxi or 20 minutes walk from Lapa (the most bohemian neighborhood in Rio) you will be staying at a quiet street, in a pleasant house, with a garden to relax.
House Description: a living room, one bathroom, a kitchen, a yard with flowers and plants, a laundry and internet.
The house is located next to Largo das Neves. The transport (bus and taxi) is about 50 meters from my house.

I cannot say a single bad word about the room, or about Vera. She's friendly and helpful, and the room is clean. The problem here is only the price. 100USD for such a room is beyond my understanding. I was really shocked. For 100USD you could expect some luxury, at least a private bath, a complimentary breakfast... But here you just get a tiny bare-bones room. Basically, it's a hostel-like accomodation. In Europe it wouldn't cost more than 40-50USD, and Brazil is just a third-world country.... Something is very wrong with Rio which is unashamedly overpriced, but even for Rio's standards it's too expensive. We were planning to stay a couple of nights more, but with this price it's out of question.
Everything is as described. Santa Teresa is a lovely neighborhood. The flat is a 1mim walk to the bus to everywhere in Rio. It's quiet and the bed is big and comfortable. Best of all, Vera is very kind and gracious. I highly reccomend, will stay here again!
