Burlingame is known for its high residential quality of life and is often referred to as the City of Trees. Burlingame has many beautiful stores and restaurants and is a significant vacation spot for people wishing to visit the San Francisco Bay Area.
The city offers quiet stretches to walk amid wetlands dotted with egrets, pelicans and great blue herons, as well as bustling streets lined with stores featuring the latest fashions, designer home furnishings, handcrafted gifts and first-class restaurants.
The Burlingame Trolley provides free transportation to Burlingame’s two major shopping and dining districts: Burlingame Avenue and Broadway. The city is also well connected to San Francisco to the north and Palo Alto and other cities in Silicon Valley to the south via a subway, trains, buses and shuttles. If you’re driving, the city has free and low-cost lots parking.
There are lots of free events in Burlingame, including Sunday afternoon concerts, family movie nights, Shakespeare in the Park, an annual pet parade and arts festivals.
Downtown Burlingame Avenue area, from California Drive to El Camino Real, is the liveliest area, with hundreds of stores and restaurants. This pedestrian-friendly district offers more discoveries on the Avenue's side streets between Howard and Chapin Avenues. This area offers independent emporiums as well as outlets for national chains and designer names.
Broadway, between California Drive and El Camino, offers a quieter shopping experience. This small shopping street, reminiscent of the Fifties, has a variety of restaurants and mom-and-pop stores.

The host was great. The apartment had everything we needed. We had a great stay at the place and loved the neighborhood, nice restaurants and breakfast places.
A little bit disturbing was the noise from the caltrain
Keith’s Burlingame apartment was our first AirBNB experience. It was an excellent introduction.
The apartment is in a terrific location, well served by public transit. The bus stop is just steps away and provides frequent access to the airport (13-17 minutes) and San Francisco. The CalTrain station is a comfortable walk even with luggage and provides even faster service to San Francisco (22-33 minutes). The library is only a couple blocks away. Shopping for everything you need is also an easy walk. If you want to cook in Keith’s kitchen, there is a Safeway a short walk away.
The apartment is spacious, clean and comfortably Spartan with hardwood flooring throughout. Comfortable sleeping accommodations for up to six. It is apparent that Keith uses the apartment when he is in town. His clothes, etc. are neatly stowed so nothing is in your way and there is plenty of space for your things.
The wifi worked great with both wireless and wired connection available.
If you have business or pleasure in San Mateo, Keith’s apartment would be an excellent accommodation.
We were able to connect with Keith via e-mail, he is an out of the area owner. The unit is as advertised large and sparsely furnished. It had what we needed, but no extra furniture. The master bed and twin matresses on the floor were comfortable. The hide-a-bed matress is not suitable for adults, it sags and bends.
It is within easy walking distance of downtown Burlingame with it's ample supply of restaurants and shopping. The neighborhood is nice apartments so parking on the street is tight. There is one off-street site available in this very quiet complex.
The train to San Francisco is close enough for convenience, yet far enough away for uninterrupted sleeping.
A couple of drawbacks, the unit was not cleaned until after 7:00 PM our first day and we were left less than a roll of toilet paper for our 4 night stay. We did not
use the kitchen much as we are from this area and were visiting family. There is a French press and Keurig coffee maker. We brought our own coffee. None was provided. Also no microwave.
This is a new undertaking for the owners, I'm sure they will make improvements to add a few personal touches to make your stay more pleasurable.
The apartment was in a great location, which sometimes made parking a challenge. The space was sparse with nice energy and very spacious. We loved the heater in the bathroom as well as the shower. Good value.
Very spacious nice clean flat at a great location. We had a fun time walking around downtown Burlingame, which is 2 to 3 mins walking distance from the apartment. Good neighborhood spots for local food and shopping.
Although Seith was out of town, it was easy to communicate with him by email and text. Communication was on time and accurate. Thanks for hosting us!
