I stayed with Jabari for a almost two months during a medical rotation at Bronx-Lebanon hospital. It took me about 20-30 minutes door to door to get to the hospital. The room looks just like the photos and the place is very spacious for NYC. Close to the subway stop and plenty of aces to eat etc. nearby. Jabari is a very nice guy- easy to live with and get along with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Great person, great place, great value.
I stayed at Jabari's for a month, while doing a rotation as a medical student in a hospital in the bronx. It was a great place to be. The room was big and comfortable and the apartment was clean and tidy and close to the trains. The neighborhood is very safe and has everything you need. Jabari is a great host and makes you feel at home.
The room is much bigger, more clean and comfortable than the photos. The area is safe and 5 mins to subway. Jabari is an AMAZING person, the nicest person I 've ever met. A person you would make friends for a whole life, not just one single time host. It was really great that Jabari allowed us to keep our luggage in his apartment during the daytime and come back to get it later. He also let us get into his apartment to charge our cellphones after the check out time and we have a wonderful, sweet and warm chat that night. A perfect time in Jabari's apartment and will come back again.
We had a great time stayin at Jabari his place. Everything is the same as shown on here. Jabari was a great host. Always made sure we have everything we needed and that we feel comfortable. It was great chatting with him whenever there was a chance.
The area is good - i never felt unsafe or anything. The trainstation 155th st is only a few walking minutes away. There is a corner store right down the street if there is anything u need to get real quick - even if its jst a delicious bagel with cream cheese :)
i def recommand this place to everyone - i def would stay here again.
Jabari was very nice and welcoming. Very nice place too. The room looks really good, exactly like in the picture.
The apartment is one block away from the subway. Great place to stay. Thanks again.
I am very pleased with my stay at Jabari's place. The room is exactly how it is in his pictures and it was clean on arrival. A lot of amenities are provided from towels to kitchen supplies. Almost nothing is off limits except for one room which Jabari occupies. His brother Seneca seems to help out with check-in and check-out in times when Jabari isn't available. Seneca is very pleasant and helpful as well, so you can't wrong with either Gray in your company.
I have one complaint concerning the locks for the front door. There are three of them and one of them is a bit finicky. Unless you know what you're doing you could spend an inordinate amount of time outside trying to get in. For me, it was 30+ minutes. So my advice would be to make sure you fully understand how to unlock the door before occupying the apartment. The top two locks open with a counterclockwise key turn. And the bottom opens with a clockwise key turn. However, for the bottom lock you need to continue holding it in its clockwise direction while pushing the door forward. Once you know the trick it's easy to open. What makes Jabari such a great host is how quickly he eased my pain when he became aware of it by taking his time to walk me through the door opening process. Ultimately there shouldn't be such ceremony to open a door but there is and Jabari is there willing to help not just in this situation but in any that may arise.
You can't go wrong selecting this place for your stay.
I was at Jabari's for three months. Great host and a really nice person, always ready to help and very friendly. The room is cozy and quite big compared to the NYC standards. The neighborhood is safe and all amenities are nearby (supermarket, delis, laundry, wine shop). Perfect.
Is a great location and great amenities for the price. I lived there for a summer internship and the AC was a blessing. Jabari is a great host, never any problems and always very helpfull. I highly recomend the place.
Very clean and comfy, close to metro station. People at neighborhood are very friendly and welcoming. Jabari is a great host! Would definitely love to come back!
Jabari was a wonderful host, super friendly and always available to help.
The room was spacious and very cosy and it is 3 min walking from the subway.
In the last day he let as leave the baggage in the house until 5.00pm.
Keep in mind that the place is in a quite old neighborhood, at first I was a little scared but it comes out as a safe area during night and day.
If you are looking for saving some money and have comfort it's the right place, we would stay there again.
