Sunny, clean, relaxed space in the best hood in Portland. Big, friendly home (big kitchen/dining area). You never need leave St Johns with theaters, markets, restaurants, dives, vegan, PO, hookah lounge & live music. But downtown is just 20 min away.
Welcome to Casa Buchanan in the St Johns neighborhood of Portland. The house is sunny and quite large (3,000 sq ft over 3 floors). It's clean and well maintained - In short - it's as nice as it looks in the pictures. Two shared living spaces, three (yes, 3) full bathrooms, a full dining room an large kitchen with all you need to prepare a great meal or bake cookies.
Your room is small, sunny and cozy. Comfy queen sized (website hidden) with cable and a small walk-in closet.
Our yard is big enough to invite folks for a bbq, throw a game of darts, or start a fire in the firepit - have at it!
And don't even pay attention to the street view - I just looked at it for the first time. I don't even know where that old beater truck filled with crap is! But feel free to find it when you arrive for extra points.
Please note: 24 hour's advance notice is preferred and often needed.
We are a home with nice people (30s - 50s) who will happily show you where to play disc golf or the best bike route or how to find the artsy part of town... We sometimes share meals (esp around the holidays when I cant stop cooking) and often share stories and beers. And sometimes... you'll barely see another person.
We have two wonderful short-haired tabby cats who wont bother you much, your pet may be welcome in my home- depending on the animal and my cats' moods. Smoking allowed outside on the porch.
The house is clean and well kept - sunny, airy and friendly!
Big kitchen, living & dining space. Yard with bbq, laundry.

St Johns is the best hood in Portland... at least those of us who live here think so. The bridge and adjacent Cathedral park are just breathtaking! It's the most diverse neighborhood in Portland!
Walk to supermarkets, bodega, dollar store. Less than a mile to downtown St Johns - with theaters serving beer, restaurants (great thai and mexican among others), cafes, bars (slim's and the Fixin To are my favorite dives), vegan market, vintage stores, PO, and (website hidden) Johns has lots of charm and lots to do! Jazz festival, Trek in the Park will start in August, a lovely farmers market every saturday in the square.
A 20 minute drive to downtown Portland over the St John's bridge. Walk to the #4, #16 and #75 bus and others leaving from St Johns and nearby.
Folks may smoke on the front and back porch. No weapons please (unless locked up). There is driveway parking as is available. Folks may block in cars as long as they are willing to move them, or have made arrangements. Treat each other respectfully and please show common courtesy.
Andrea made me feel very welcome. She was flexible and accommodating with meeting times and good with communication. I had a (website hidden) meeting (in my room) and I appreciated the quiet and privacy. Since I was spending time with my parents from early in the day to late in the evening it was easy to come and go as I needed. It was generally quiet in the house which was wonderful. The neighborhood is a bit mellow. It's about a mile from downtown St. John's. Not very commercial, more residential. It worked for us because I borrowed my parents car to zip back and forth. I slept well both nights.
Had a great time. World stay again when next in Portland
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Andrea was friendly and available. The house is beautiful. The
bedroom was a bit small for the bed but comfortable. Coffee was
available in the morning but breakfast was on your own.

I'm an east coast girl who moved here from Boston 6 years ago. Just climbed over that 50 mark, but still manage to get out to live shows and all the fun stuff Portland has to offer. I also spend time writing a screenplay, make funky crafts, adoring my cat. I love to cook and you cant keep me away from good yard sale, been running an art class with refugee kids for catholic charities - too cute!
