This circa 1830 storefront home was recently renovated. The second floor living quarters, fully furnished with a gourmet kitchen, super living room, study, large master bedroom and bath complete with antique claw-foot bathtub, sliding warehouse doors and much more can be yours for a surprisingly low price. Complete with original pine flooring and furnished with a combination of old and new touches. Walking distance to historic Old Towne Petersburg and ten minutes to Fort Lee.

The space
This is a "storefront house" built in the early 1830s, sitting adjacent to a sidewalk as opposed to a typical residential setback from the street. Designed for a business to be conducted on the first floor and the owner to live on the second floor. When you turn off the street, you are on part of the original cobblestone and brick driveway. At the back of the property is the concrete slab that the original carriage house sat on.

Inside you see some of the original concrete floor and pine wood flooring. A mix of antiques and other decorations greet you when you enter and as you walk up the stairs to the second floor. Original pine wood flooring was used when the house was renovated circa 2007. You see original wall studs complete with old nails plus ceiling joists salvaged during the renovation process. A huge four-post bed and claw-foot tub, church pew, pool hall chair combined with a new gourmet kitchen, appliances and furniture await you.

Step back in time for a truly unique, wonderful and relaxing experience. Located just 3.8 miles from Fort Lee and less than a mile from Virginia State University, also within easy walking distance of downtown Petersburg's locally owned dining, entertainment and other shopping options. House is also a short drive to Interstates 85 and 95, a large regional mall named Southpark Mall and convenient to anywhere in the Tri-Cities area. Centrally located with Virginia's capitol, Richmond, to the north, the mountains to the west and ocean beaches to the east and so much more in every direction, our house is an ideal place to stay.
