Staying with Michelle and Jeffrey was an absolute pleasure. I immediately felt welcome, and they struck the perfect balance between socializing with them and privacy. They gave me some great tips about San Francisco, showed me around their neighborhood, and fed me warm croissants with French pressed coffee in the morning. What else could a traveler want? And the bed was very comfortable. Thank you, Michelle and Jeffrey, for a wonderful stay.
Michelle and Jeffrey are wonderful hosts. Both always made sure I felt comfortable and at home. I had a busy week during my stay and was able to come and go as I pleased. There was always fresh coffee and pastries in the morning, as well as good company which was greatly appreciated. There was also the offer of joining them for dinner which sadly I wasn't able to take them up on due to prior plans. They did however take the the time to show me the local area both during an evening and daytime. They have a real insight to the local scene and was always a pleasure talking with them.
The area is walking distance to Haight & Ashbury which has an array of brilliant shops, food and drink. It is also close to Golden Gate park and well connected via public transport to get around the city.
Their home is warm, clean and cosy. It was a great place to come back to after a busy day of running about the city. All in all, it was like staying with good family friends. Could not recommend enough.
The minute I walked into Jeffrey and Michelle's home, I felt immediately welcomed with warmth. We shared many laughs and stories during my stay. I felt like every day in their home was an opportunity for me to learn something, whether it was an interesting historical fact about the city of San Francisco or how to roll sushi. They were always open to sharing meals and wonderful conversation with me. Jeff and Michelle are full of vivid, incredible stories and their openness allows you to feel completely free to be as you are. The walks I went on with Jeff and Michelle are some of my fondest memories of being in San Francisco. They are kind, humorous, and free-spirited. Ask Jeff about his four principles and you will understand!
The Haight-Ashbury neighborhood is an amazing and beautiful place to wander and explore. There is such great support for local artisans and businesses, which is inspiring to witness. This is a place to stay if you want to experience a true taste of authentic San Francisco life.
P.S. If your stay with this amazing couple happens to land on the last Friday of the month, be sure to check out Critical Mass! It is BEAUTIFUL event to experience.
I can't say enough good things about Michelle and Jeffrey. They were so unbelievably kind, hospitable and welcoming. Their place is fantastic and is in a great location close to the Haight and Golden Gate Park. Michelle gave me the scoop on the local restaurants, recommending some tasty places and also a good place to rent a bike which I did. They were helpful with all the questions I had and coordinating with them was super smooth. Their place is very nicely decorated, with a great view out of the window of the room. Plus, its has direct access to outside and their garden so you can just open the door for some fresh air. I think the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept it. I didn't want to get up!
I think the best part of staying with Michelle and Jeffery is you could feel the strong and genuine desire they had to spend time with me and just get to know me. We had a long, leisurely (and tasty!) breakfast just chatting about SF and whatever else was on our minds. They took real interest in learning about where I was from, what I did, etc. Afterward they showed me the amazing local farmers market nearby. I had a ton of fun just hanging with both of them!
Could not have found a better base to have every kind of adventure I could have wanted to have in SF. Jeff and Michelle were incredibly friendly and welcoming - offering me beer and a lovely combination of croissant and bagels, and oranges, along with french press coffee. They provided good recommendations of places to eat and drink, as well as interesting sights to see in their neighborhood. If you want a real Haight-Ashbury experience, you really have no other option but to stay here. I already miss it.
Michelle and Jeffrey were the most welcoming and friendly hosts. They took me out for a walk to show me around the Haight which was a great start to SF and they did everything to make me feel relaxed and comfortable. The room was exactly as described. I only stayed there for one night because I had to travel further. I would highly recommend this place - thanks Michelle and Jeffrey.
Michelle and Jeffrey provided a wonderful space for me. Jeffrey gave me a quick tour when I arrived and was very friendly. When Michelle arrived back home later she also was very welcoming and kind. They really went out of their way to treat me to wonderful tea, coffee, and phenomenal homemade food. They truly welcomed me into their lives in such a generous way. Their kindness made my trip so much better than I had imagined it could be.
Jeffrey is a retired chef, baker and body therapist. He's an apprentice bee keeper brewing honey mead and ales. Michelle draws and paints. We love to make a cozy place to share with friends. We also like to send them off to local shopping and eating favorites. We always have coffee/tea, bread, cheese and fruit on hand. You will be offered a variety of breakfast choices and you will be invited to contribute to "beyond breakfast". If you let us know what you like we'll do our best to have the ingredients on hand.
