Interaction with Guests
I live in an out building a short private distance from the house.
Wonderful 24 acres of serenity, but just a 10 minute drive to Sebastopol where you will find shops, Whole Foods and more.
Only a 10 min bike ride finds you in Graton, hosting a number of road bike friendly hot spots like The Underwood Bar and Bistro and Willow Wood Market Café both have great reviews. 10 min to the north in Forestville, finds our coveted "Backyard" restaurant with seasonal and sustainable produce and local meats on the menu. For the exotic tastes the "Himalayan Tandoori & Curry House" has a 4 star review and has lit the hearts of many.
Sebastopol Bike Center in downtown, rents bikes. It's just 6 miles, or 14 minutes away.
My two favorite wineries are
1. Chalk Hill Estate Winery, great Chardonnay, beautiful grounds
2. Preston of Dry Creek Vineyards, organic reds, small production, outstanding quality.
There is also a very cool collection of breweries and wineries in the Barlow, downtown Sebastopol, that is fun to look around in.
The wine guy, at Andy's a local market just 4 miles, 8 minutes from here stocks wine from all over the area and could advise you on visiting the wineries that may be of best interest to you.
Our local roads are idealic for road bicyclist and local walking trails.
Property has plenty of parking.

Catherine was an amazing host. She graciously allowed us to stop by before check-in to drop off our bags and freshen up for an event we were attending. She left us a dozen fresh eggs with sourdough bread and butter for breakfast. The home was fabulous! Larger than expected and extremely comfortable for the 4 of us. We'd love to stay at Catherine's home again in the future.
Staying here was a totally wonderful experience. Catherine met us as we arrived and introduced us to the farm and its inhabitants, which included beautiful chickens and two adorable dogs. The site includes magnificent vintage trees. The house we stayed in was spacious, well-appointed, very comfortable and beautifully crafted. We needed two bedrooms, but for larger groups, more beds are available. The upstairs bedroom has a generous veranda overlooking a scenic vista. There are porches outside every room. The kitchen/living room area is a spacious two stories in height. The location is very secluded and peaceful. Catherine was a delightful host and even brought out some baby chicks for our 5-yr. old grandson to look at and hold. Catherine had left a basket of a dozen fresh eggs for a delicious breakfast. Staying here was a very special experience and we hope to return soon.
The hostess Catherine was extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the fresh eggs from the chickens outside, the wine her boyfriend made, and bar soap her daughter made. The house is in a beautiful setting in the country, and the view is just lovely in the morning with the fog settling over the fields.
My wife and I have stayed at a number of Airbnb places and without a doubt this place is the best of the lot. It is stunning. The view from the top bedroom is out of this world. The house and grounds are beautiful and the host and her dogs are lovely.
For those travelling to wine country, make sure to spend a night here. It's a perfect place to have dinner with friends and then enjoy the stars in the sky.
Very nice touches from the host to provide fresh eggs from here chickens, bread, milk coffee etc.
Big shout out to the hosts dogs. Sugar and Scooter are wonderful, our dog had a blast!
So much time to reflect and enjoy the silence. The serenity is just what the doctor ordered.
Catherine was extremely accommodating and made our group feel very welcomed upon arrival. Catherine greeted us at her home, and gave us a quick tour around her beautiful property. We were also greeted by her two ADORABLE small and friendly dogs. They stayed outside and played on their own, unless we invited them in the house, which we did often : )
The house was extremely easy to find, and it was located in a safe and lovely neighborhood. We woke up to a gorgeous foggy and warm morning overlooking horses and the open fields behind the home. Chickens and roosters roamed the property and as the sun came out, we enjoyed lounging around the house while our dog played with her two dogs. It was a perfect and relaxing get-a-way, and it felt like we had our own private farm for the weekend! This is a home we would come back and stay in again.
Thank you Catherine!
Dear Stephanie and All, It was an absolute pleasure to host you all! Such bright conversation and fun loving energy. Hope the Track went well too. Your Boston Terrier was the best, all the dogs had so much fun. It was a holiday for them too. Thank you so much for visiting. Now you know where we are! Please come back for another stay~ CM + kids
Lovely experience this past weekend staying at Catherine's home. Rustic farmhouse feel, with Horses, chickens, and dogs you can see out the back windows! What really differentiated Catherine's place for us was the location: Super close to Graton, Sebastopol, countless wineries. We rented bikes on Sunday and rode from sebastopol to forestville stopping at wineries en route. Catherine brought us tasty farm fresh eggs and other breakfast basics which gave us a great start on Sunday. We had plenty of space for 6 ladies. My only mild warning is to bring ear plugs - roosters wake up early and dogs can bark. Not a big deal if you are deep sleeper but otherwise come prepared.
About the Host, Catherine
I live in Sebastopol in a house next to the one I rent. I am an artist. I like to paint plein air landscapes and people. I am an avid cook and prepare all my own organic, gluten/casein free meals for several years now. I love my chickens, I currently have only 11 including a rooster but hope to have many more soon. My other past times are gardening for vegetables, butterfly's and bees.
