About this listing
An entire large 1-bedroom flat w/private garage parking, washer/dryer (in unit), gas oven & stove, top-floor corner unit with cable TV, dining room/office, big bed & location near UCSF, Golden Gate Park & the Inner Sunset. It's bright and homey.
This is the dining room/office. The table can be extended and can seat 10. There's a printer you can use too under the desk. And yes, there's wifi.
Sunny top-floor walk-up flat with private, remote-controlled covered garage parking included (think about how much you're saving considering what hotels charge!)
Anyway, my place has 1 bedroom, 1 living room & dinning room/office (double parlor layout), 1 bath (shower over tub) with wood floors throughout; nicely furnished. Kitchen with gas appliances, forced central air heat, in-unit laundry with washer & gas drier (approx. 800-900 sq ft) and is up two flights of stairs.
Also, amenity-wise: I have Comcast cable and WiFi internet. The flat is located near San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Park (de Young & Cal Academy), 9th & Irving neighborhood, and MUNI light rail/bus public transit system and UCSF.
I like to think it's very nicely decorated and comfortable. Great cookware (pots, pans, baking pans, food processor, roasting pan) and comfortable space to rest up.
I have a garage space that's big enough for most cars. If you're driving a tank though... you'll probably need to park on the street, which is relatively easy depending on the time of the day. And, the garage is not suitable for your plug-in car yet, but UCSF and neighborhood charging stations are nearby.
Otherwise, write me for more information if you have questions. And remind me to send you the detailed instructions on how to get in and the like once you're confirmed. Thank you!
P.S. I've only ever had to cancel a reservation once and that was due to a very minor pipe burst that has been since repaired.
P.P.S. Also, the place is a great starting off base if you're looking to move to SF too. Also, helpful is that I'm a real estate agent too that can help in your home search!
The whole place with a remote-control, private and secure garage.
Interaction with Guests
Text and notes.
It's central, easy, and close to the Park, the Beach, and UCSF. There are great restaurants at 9th Ave and Irving and there's a great vibe too.
The N-MUNI light rail line runs near as do many buses. Also, uber, lyft and taxi. And, of course, you can rent a car and park it in my garage.
Other Things to Note
This is my place that I have folks stay in. It's not a hotel of course but I try my hardest to make your stay comfortable — like you're staying with a friend who's out of town for the week but one who let you have your place. The place can be cool as it's near the ocean and sunny too.
The bed is a queen-sized bed, and there's a couch that is probably like a twin-sized bed. If you have an air mattress you can likely use it in the dining room/office.
Please treat the house as if it's your own.
Quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. (so we don't wake my neighbors downstairs).
Please tidy up after yourselves. Have the windows open a bit to have some fresh air.
Please, please, please take the garbage, recycling and compost bins out on THURSDAY nights and bring them back in FRIDAY afternoon.
Please let me know if I'm running low on supplies so I can replenish.
Please refrain from drinking from my wine collection.
Please toss out any food that will go off that you cannot finish.
Please don't overload the washing machine.
If you move furniture around, please put it back when you leave.
We're energy conscious and water conscious in California, so please switch off lights, switch off the thermostat when you leave and please don't take endless showers.
Please clear out the shower drain before you leave. Hair is eewy.
Kevin was a wonderful host with a marvelous apartment in the Sunset. Checking in was flawless and Kevin was easily reachable by text message. As parking can be quite a hassle in San Francisco, it was awesome to have a private garage at the house where we could store our car all weekend so we could take Muni to travel around the city. This is by far the best place we've stayed with AirBnb and we would happily stay here on our next trip!
This Apt is great! it is very close to a grocery store and various other amenities that make it feel like you're right at home. The Arizmendi Bakery and San Tung resturant are great places to eat and just a short walk near by. The view of golden gate park and the city was great as well.
Would like to thank Kevin for making his dig available to my Wife and I. While we never got to meet Kevin who was vacationing, we have found everything exactly as described.
We have enjoyed a week long stay in his apartment as we would have enjoyed a stay at our ... Grandma's place. Kevin has fondness for collecting things (photos, mementos, framed posters, framed dining menus) that would make my Grandma envious (if she had lived that long). So, the first time you get into Kevin's apartment, you get that feel like you actually had been there many times before, even the squeaky floor by the King sized bed sounds familiar...
Aside from that, description of the place is very accurate and everything was ready for our arrival. Kevin provides all the conveniences you need, so you actually feel like you are in your own house. While we did not do much cooking, preferring to dine out (many choices around), if you care to, you can be a gourmet chef in Kevin's place as he provides many tools, utensils and ingredients.
The apartment is quiet and heavy bedroom window covers can fool you that you may sleep till noon (we actually did one day!). Muni Line N is a short walk away (we got the weekly pass for $35 that made life much easier for us). There is a magnificent park just two blocks away and Union Sq is a short Muni ride away. So, in summary, it was very convenient and a nice accommodation for two of us. We would highly recommend Kevin's place. You will not be disappointed!
HOST: Prompt, answers questions appropriately and all around nice guy.
LOCATION: fantastic secure location, literally only two blocks walking distance from a great spread of restaurants as well as small shops. In addition, it is literally only three blocks walking distance to Golden Gate Park, a huge plus.
FEATURES: The parking garage was a huge plus, able to fit our four door car. Impossible to get parking in San Francisco on the street so this was a great perk.
APARTMENT: The apartment felt large and inviting, and was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day of fun. It was very neat and tidy, and exactly as the pictures show.
CONCLUSION: Stay here. We know we will when we return.
This place was perfect for us. It was two blocks from a main transit line that went to City Center and on to the Embarcadero. It was 3 blocks from Golden Gate Park, a terrific grocery store/deli, and more great restaurants than we could possibly try in one week. The kitchen was well-epuipped, the one car garage an fabulous amenity for our rental car, and access to the roof where I was one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen.
The one problem we had was that the garage door opener was being finicky and when we told Kevin he got it fixed immediately. Kevin is a great host and we would stay here again, no problem.
Had a great stay! It was super convenient to get into, the place was very clean, and the location was great. The private garage was also a big plus since we rented a car!!
Kevin has a wonderfully located home that provided us with a great home base for our explorations of San Francisco. Our experience was well-coordinated, easy and enjoyable. We appreciated the parking, the full kitchen and the cozy space (and the monkeys!). We also appreciated the central but quiet location. It was easy to see all the sights during the day and have a space to come home to, including good nearby takeout options when necessary. Thanks so much Kevin!
About the Host, Kevin
Young professional here in San Francisco - lawyer/realtor and mediator. I've got a great place in the Inner Sunset that is close to public transit and to Golden Gate Park. Not too far out so we're spared a lot of he fog, but anyway, I digress. I'm often in the Bay Area but not at home, so I figured why not try AirBnB? Looking forward to helping you have a great time in San Francisco!
