An entire large 1-bedroom flat w/private garage parking, washer/dryer (in unit), gas oven & stove, top-floor corner unit with cable TV, dining room/office, big bed & location near UCSF, Golden Gate Park & the Inner Sunset. It's bright and homey.
This is the dining room/office. The table can be extended and can seat 10. There's a printer you can use too under the desk. And yes, there's wifi.
Sunny top-floor walk-up flat with private, remote-controlled covered garage parking included (think about how much you're saving considering what hotels charge!)
Anyway, my place has 1 bedroom, 1 living room & dinning room/office (double parlor layout), 1 bath (shower over tub) with wood floors throughout; nicely furnished. Kitchen with gas appliances, forced central air heat, in-unit laundry with washer & gas drier (approx. 800-900 sq ft) and is up two flights of stairs.
Also, amenity-wise: I have Comcast cable and WiFi internet. The flat is located near San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Park (de Young & Cal Academy), 9th & Irving neighborhood, and MUNI light rail/bus public transit system and UCSF.
I like to think it's very nicely decorated and comfortable. Great cookware (pots, pans, baking pans, food processor, roasting pan) and comfortable space to rest up.
I have a garage space that's big enough for most cars. If you're driving a tank though... you'll probably need to park on the street, which is relatively easy depending on the time of the day. And, the garage is not suitable for your plug-in car yet, but UCSF and neighborhood charging stations are nearby.
Otherwise, write me for more information if you have questions. And remind me to send you the detailed instructions on how to get in and the like once you're confirmed. Thank you!
P.S. I've only ever had to cancel a reservation once and that was due to a very minor pipe burst that has been since repaired.
P.P.S. Also, the place is a great starting off base if you're looking to move to SF too. Also, helpful is that I'm a real estate agent too that can help in your home search!
The whole place with a remote-control, private and secure garage.
Interaction with Guests
Text and notes.
It's central, easy, and close to the Park, the Beach, and UCSF. There are great restaurants at 9th Ave and Irving and there's a great vibe too.
The N-MUNI light rail line runs near as do many buses. Also, uber, lyft and taxi. And, of course, you can rent a car and park it in my garage.
Other Things to Note
This is my place that I have folks stay in. It's not a hotel of course but I try my hardest to make your stay comfortable — like you're staying with a friend who's out of town for the week but one who let you have your place. The place can be cool as it's near the ocean and sunny too.
The bed is a queen-sized bed, and there's a couch that is probably like a twin-sized bed. If you have an air mattress you can likely use it in the dining room/office.
Please treat the house as if it's your own.
Quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. (so we don't wake my neighbors downstairs).
Please tidy up after yourselves. Have the windows open a bit to have some fresh air.
Please, please, please take the garbage, recycling and compost bins out on THURSDAY nights and bring them back in FRIDAY afternoon.
Please let me know if I'm running low on supplies so I can replenish.
Please refrain from drinking from my wine collection.
Please toss out any food that will go off that you cannot finish.
Please don't overload the washing machine.
If you move furniture around, please put it back when you leave.
We're energy conscious and water conscious in California, so please switch off lights, switch off the thermostat when you leave and please don't take endless showers.
Please clear out the shower drain before you leave. Hair is eewy.
This is my forth time staying at this place and I still love it. The place is very spacious, homey, and I love the neighborhood. There are so many nice restaurants and shops, like the Arizmendi Bakery which makes delicious pizza.
I also love going for a run in Golden Gate park, around the de Young museum or simply the easy access to the muni N line.
Finally it's nice to see improvements made to the place (new very large screen TV and fresh coat of paint)
This was our first experience using Airbnb & we were quite satisfied with the entire experience. Kevin's one bedroom apartment in the Inner Sunset District of San Francisco was ideally located close to our son in the Richmond District. We'd not been to SF before so we weren't sure what to expect, but living in the neighborhood instead of a hotel downtown made for a much more enjoyable time in the city.
So, Kevin's place: Very clean & spacious, though the presence of all his stuff in every nook & cranny never lets you forget that you're staying in someone else's home. But it's all very tasteful & homey. The kitchen is very well-appointed which was great for my wife who cooked several great meals during our 6 day stay. We did miss having a dishwasher and a garbage disposal, but washing dishes by hand wasn't too bad. The washer/dryer combo was great and very handy. The bathroom was fine and the shower head was quite invigorating. The queen size bed was very comfy and the sheets clean & soft.
We spent several evenings at the flat and the big screen LED TV with xfinity cable was a real treat. We loved the fact that the place has its own one-car garage which was extremely useful, especially to help avoid the ridiculously crowded on-street parking. Be careful using the garage with any car bigger than a compact as it's very narrow, and watch out that no one parallel parks in front of the drive or you won't be able to get out.
Overall, we loved Kevin's place & give it a A+. There is one caveat, however, that may be important to anyone staying there in the next several months: There's a new house or condo being constructed right next door to Kevin's building. While we were there, workmen were breaking concrete & forming the new foundation. Thank goodness it was only during the day when we were mostly out, but several times when we were there, Kevin's house literally shook with the racket of construction. I'm sure the noise will abate as they finish they finish the outside work on the place, but in the coming weeks & months there'll likely be lots of noise, dust, & loud talking coming from next door. If you can easily ignore that kind of thing or will be out of the flat during working hours, it probably won't bother you. We were okay with it after a while, but at times it was quite annoying.
Thanks for everything Kevin! You helped make our vacation in San Francisco most enjoyable & memorable!
The listing description and photos were true as described. Location is about 10-15 min walk to GG Park.
Host communication was very prompt and instructions were very thorough and easy to follow.
Home was very cozy and just right for the price. Bed was a little too soft for us as well as pillows.
Everything else worked out great.
Beautiful apartment, awesome neighborhood, great host! I would totally stay here again.
This beautiful apartment is spacious, quiet, well-located, and well designed. In particular, I want to emphasize the design. The rooms, closets, and furniture are all set up in a way that is convenient for people in an unfamiliar space. And it really is a cool place -- with an urban feel and domestic comfort.
About location, it's two blocks from the liveliness of Irving and one block from the N-Judah line. In short, a great location!
The strongest recommendation I can give is that this is the only place I want to stay when I'm in the Inner Sunset.
We spent the better part of a week in Kevin’s apartment, a lovely experience. The apartment is well-appointed, comfortable and homey, both the apartment and neighborhood blissfully quiet. We were able to get to most every part of the city within 20 minutes by car, even at high traffic times. The local neighborhood had enough restaurants and shops, though, that we easily could have spent our time without a car.
The orientation information Kevin provided was detailed and complete. Although there was a minor SNAFU when we first arrived at the apartment, Kevin was accessible via text, and he jumped in immediately, personally, to resolve it hands-on. A hotel manager wouldn’t be as responsive.
We don’t give five stars lightly, but they're deserved here. Next time we visit San Francisco, Kevin’s apartment will be the first place we look for a home-away-from-home.
We had an amazing time staying at Kevin's place! It was very clean and even bigger than expected! We enjoyed exploring SF and right near by in The Inner Sunset area. Thanks so much!
Young professional here in San Francisco - lawyer/realtor and mediator. I've got a great place in the Inner Sunset that is close to public transit and to Golden Gate Park. Not too far out so we're spared a lot of he fog, but anyway, I digress. I'm often in the Bay Area but not at home, so I figured why not try AirBnB? Looking forward to helping you have a great time in San Francisco!
