Teo had communicated clearly with me before our arrival, I had responded by text, unfortunately Teo did not receive my message. She greeted us warmly after we had arrived, although we did get lost with the last turn into the property.
What wonderful accomodation, it was exactly as Air BnB had advertised. We were shown around the apartment and property, and given a small account of the history. We found some lovely surprises with the home cooked biscuits, jam tart and freshly baked bread. We had fresh organic eggs in our fridge ready for breakfast. We were free to explore the property and felt relaxed as we strolled down to the river, wanderer through the stables, watched the beautiful horses being exercised, fed the unusual breed of cattle, and we were offen accompanied by the dogs, cats and chickens. Our favourite was "Biscuit" the rescue greyhound who greeted us at breakfast with her cute face at the door. Toe and Francescia were wonderful hosts, and we found the history of the farm of great interest. My absolute favourite was the amazing vintage collectables through out, crystal decanter stoppers, and chandelier pieces, jugs, pottery, colanders and books, and window frames and tapestries.
All in all, we had a very short but wonderful time at Podere Capannacce, we would love to revisit, but stay longer next time. Our only negative to the whole experience was the bed. It was very hard, and a bit uncomfortable for sleep.
I have visited Tuscany three times, each time staying at a agriturismo location. Our visit to Podere Capannacce was by far the best. Francesca and Teo are fantastic, and thoughtful hosts that genuinely welcome you to their wonderful working farm. The rental flat is beautiful, charming and very comfortable with real fire place, perfect little kitchen for preparing small meals, comfortable bed. A car is a must here and local supermarket is only 10 mins away, at the base of Rapolano Terms village. My wife and I enjoyed the podere so much we gladly gave up a day of driving to nearby hill towns to simply enjoy the farm, the horses, chickens, dogs, cats, cows, stream, garden and fields. Truly cant say enough good things about this lovely location and lovely Tuscan hosts. Next time we are staying longer...
Tuscany is such a beautiful part of the world and Capannacce a little paradise. Our flat was as described. We chose this apartment because of the fire place. It's pretty dark compared to the other ones. But for the cold nights we had the fire place to keep us warm. The mattress was a bit too hard for us but the bed was huge and warm. Teo is an amazing host (we didn't meet Francesca, her mother) with a talented hand and good taste in interior design. For breakfast she made bread and two cakes, all amazingly delicious. She even made a gluten-free and no-dairy cake for me. She called it an experiment, I called it a blast.
With the apartment come discount vouchers for the Terme Rapolano, a nice place to relax and open till 12pm.
Toe will also recommend you places to go and where to eat. And all of them were worth seeing. Just follow her suggestions and you'll see some of Tusany's nicest areas.
Overall, we had a great time!
Everybody knows that Tuscany is an amazing part of Italy, and this farm is situated right in the middle of it, thus the perfect starting point to explore it in all directions: no big news, you just need a map to figure this out. So what is the big news? -- The big news is that this place is the secret little paradise that one is always looking for as a getaway, but one never quite finds! The moment I arrived I fell in love with the old house, the beautiful garden, and more than anything all the inhabitants: chicken walking by, semi feral cats, dogs and two baby calves who would drop by for breakfast. Oh, and I forgot: the most terrific hosts Teo and Francesca (as well as Nono), who invited me for pizza with their friends in the evening, and who brought me homemade jam, bread and pies. (Nevertheless there is complete privacy ensured.) Everything was simply perfect and I am looking extremely forward to coming back! -- I'd say: if you don't like this place, then you don't deserve the privilege of being here. It's as simple as that!
Otro día fui a Assisi, Cortona y Siena.
Otro delicioso día solamente disfruté el apartamento, el jardín y un buen libro.
El pueblo de Rapolano Terme es muy lindo también y ofrece vistas espectaculares del valle.
Me parece una opción muy buena para disfrutar La Toscana.
tks for your suggestion, i think the same, a door for the shower will be a nice things, and for the next season we do that.
Just one things, for precision, at the firs time you choice la Casetta, who is a part of hour home, so the photo is correct, the bilding is the same...
after we have talk togheter about the connection, and i have take decision to accomodate you in poderino...
In the poderino photos aren't picks of Capannacce...
Teo e Francesca.
Our stay at Capannacce Horse Farm was incredibly great. This place is really a hidden treasure.
The apartment is like a little historic museum with all (modern) facilities you need. The place is greatly decorated and very very cosy.
The kitchen is fantastic and the fireplace brings a great atmosphere.
At our arrival we were warmly welcomed with homemade bread (great for bruchetta) and cake.
We enjoyed walking around the farm with all animals. Every morning and evening we made a stroll over the horse racetrack.
I would recommend this place to everybody and definitely hope to come back as I didn't want to leave:-)
Francesca and her daughter are very friendly & helpful and give you all the privacy you could wish for.
