Charming studio in a lovely little townhouse. It is four flights up, sunny, North facing apartment--it is quiet--you forget you are in the city! Yet, it is in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side, five blocks to Lincoln Center, 11 blocks to The American Museum of Natural History. It is within easy walking distance to Central Park, Riverside Park, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle and so much more. Major subway hub two blocks away! You'll be at Macys in ten minutes on the train! The block is residential, safe, and very quiet at night.
The generous sized apartment faces north, but has pretty good light because it is on the top floor of the building. This apartment is old, vintage we like to say, dating from1937, but well-maintained, clean and comfortable. There is new paint throughout and freshened floors. The kitchenette has just been renovated with a new cabinet unit (plates, cups and utensils, all new). It is a 4th story walk-up with no doorman. It is rear facing, thus extremely quiet--despite being in such a vibrant area! (see reviews).
It has a fully working kitchenette (oven, stove, sink) and full sized refrigerator/microwave. It is furnished with a queen bed, vintage dining table and two comfortable upholstered chairs. The bathroom is NOT renovated, but is cleaned fastidiously between every guest. Tiles, tub and sink are unrenovated, but you can be assured the bathroom is VERY clean. There is a TV, DVD player, and WIFI included in the price. There is an alarm clock so you don't oversleep and miss how gorgeous the neighborhood is in the morning! We provide coffee and coffee maker (though Starbucks around the corner, too! ) We also provide shampoo and conditioner (helpful for airline travelers)--though 24 hour, new, drugstore (CVS) directly across the street should you prefer to buy your favorite toiletries upon arrival. Please note: The favorite Trader Joe's Market is only two short blocks away!
We will greet you personally and live on site. Though you will have privacy during your stay.
Of course we have the apartment professionally cleaned between guests!

The immediate neighborhood is chock full of great restaurants, theaters, parks (including Central Park) and museums. The apartment is 2 blocks from the West 72nd St. subway station on the 1/2/3 lines. If you are familiar with NYC transit, you know this is a tremendous luxury.
Please note we charge a $75 fee for check-in after 11:00PM.
We are just a short 2 blocks from the 1,2,3 train which is one express stop from Times Square and easy access to the whole city. Cabs and buses are also easy to find and just steps out our front door.
House rules are:
- No smoking
- No loud noise after 9PM, and be courteous of others living here and aware of noise all around since this is an old building with thin walls.
- No pets
There is an iron-clad, no-exception, strenuously-enforced no smoking policy in effect for the entire building. Other than that, we're pretty easy to get along with.
About the Host, Ted
Hi, we are seasoned and stable New Yorkers who love living in the small building we own on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It is a brownstone here in the Lincoln Center neighborhood-- the heart of the Upper West Side--one of the best neighborhoods in the city. We will be present in the building during your stay, making our rentals conform with city ordinances. Our friendly, secure, convenient building will have all the amenities you need. We like to make our guests feel that this is their home away from home and try to be accessible should they have questions on sightseeing, restaurants etc. We hope you will choose to stay in our lovely, owner-occupied, building!
