  • If you are looking for a nice get-away house, this is the perfect place. Three of us were looking for a peaceful vacation away from our tour life with Cirque Du Soleil, and we really enjoyed our first time stay on the big island.
Susan and her husband Andre were very helpful and sweet to us, and made our stay feel like home. I would recommend this 3 story house to anyone. The house is huge and comes with everything you need. Check in and out was very easy. It was nice to have a full kitchen, free parking, wifi, laundry, and cable tv. The house was in a nice quiet neighborhood and not far from the black sand beaches.
Thank you Susan and Andre for a beautiful stay on the Big Island.

  • This was a great place..the house totally met our needs and the hosts were very helpful. We were happy to be able to do our laundry and use a free land line. It is also conveniently located near the Wonderful Sat. Morning Space market. We slept well here and that is always important to me.

  • I really enjoyed my weeks stay at Coconut Palms and Susan and Andre made my stay very comfortable. They met me there upon arrival and it was all "easy street" from there. The apartment was pristine with many extra amenities.
I found the location perfect for relaxing on the Big Island and the scenery at this locale is stunning in it's own right! Can't wait to return

Hey Steve, We loved having you and 'we too' are looking forward to your return. We will have a bottle of wine chilling for you in the refer. You will love living here if you chose to relocate as we do.
    mahalo and aloha for now...andre/susan

  • Thank you Susan and Andre for your kind hospitality. My sister and I enjoyed our stay at Coconut Palms. The place was clean and comfortable. It was exactly what we expected from seeing the pictures. Kalapana was such a cute town. For anyone staying here, I would advise arriving before dark. The place was really hard to find at night as the roads are narrow and not lighted. Andre and his son were very helpful with directing us when we were lost. It was just complicated as certain areas there was no reception.

  • Susan and Andre,
Thank you so much for your kind hospitality! The suite is a great place to stay if you are venturing off the beaten tourist path into the Puna area of the Big Island. Puna has a very tropical, more local feel than other parts of the Island (especially Kona Coast).
The suite is located just 10 Minutes from an active lava viewing site (as of mid March 2012) - watching the flowing lava at night was one of the highlights of our trip! The suite was new and VERY clean as as per description on the website: full private bathroom, 2 queen beds, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster (no oven), WLAN.
Susan and Andre were very friendly and gracious hosts - we even stayed at their home/office for the second night because the studio was already booked.

  • The house is very nice, ,clean and very big. It is just about an hour away from the volcano and form Hilo. Lava viewing is possible from the end of the road (if Lava is flowing). We went for a hike on the cold lava, which was very impressive as well. Very nice.

  • Huge house in a nice little community just off the old red road that we're glad we stayed in. Really modern kitchen and comfortable beds and couches for an awesome price. The best in the area if traveling with a big group of friends.

One night, the fire alarm malfunctioned due to bugs, but the owners (who live offsite) were there in a flash to solve the problem. At 3am, that kind of dedication to looking after guests is really impressive.

Highly recommended! Just remember to bring in some groceries from nearby Hilo before getting there.

  • Wh had a wonderful three day stay in the three bedroom house. Andre was a great host who advised us on nice activities in the area. Checking in and out was very easy. Would love to stay as the area is so peaceful and interesting.

  • Susan's place was just perfect. As advertised it was huge. If you like the area it is one of the best homes there. We were welcomed without any hassle and made to feel at home. Looking forward to my next big island visit.
