Our apartment's best feature is its location. It's two blocks from Dolores Park, the best place on earth on a sunny Saturday, and it's at the intersection of yuppy Noe Valley, hipster/Latino Mission District, and gay Castro. It's very safe, too, because it's a bit up a hill. Lastly, it's right by a J-line Muni stop and 10 minutes from the BART.
The apartment itself is nice, nothing too amazing. The living room and kitchen are fairly standard San Francisco size, but the molding, high ceilings, and windows give it a really pleasant feel. You get the whole place to yourself, so you can make yourself at home during your stay.
Utility-wise, we've got central heat, Internet, 42" HDTV hooked up to an Apple Mini (sorry, no cable), laundry downstairs, and probably a dozen Economists laying around at any one time.
You'd stay in a relatively small but A-OK room with an Ikea futon, which is actually quite comfortable; we've had people stay there for months and sleep better than they do in their own home. The futon is the size of a standard double bed, so two people can share it comfortably. Please note that there is only the one bed, so if you are interested in space for two people then you two should be willing to share the bed.
We live in a place with bizarrely plentiful street parking. Be sure to read the signs to avoid tickets, though! We can give you some tips on where parking near us is easiest. If you'd rather not deal with the risk and hassle of street parking, there is a garage about 6 blocks away that costs $22/day.
My boyfriend and I were so happy to be able to stay at Greg and Amy's for a week. They were super prepared for us and sent us a document ahead of time detailing all that we need to know about their place, their neighbors and the neighborhood. Their apartment was cozy and stylish, and definitely in an unbelievably convenient location. Many thanks to the both of them for making our stay in SF so comfortable!
Amy & Greg's place is great! The space is huge and light! We were surprised at the size of the space--the large kitchen and living room, the bathroom and bedroom. It was amazing to have so much space to relax in. Also, the instructions were very easy to follow. We had no problems at all. Finally--this is the perfect location: near Noe Valley but also near the Mission. We loved it!
Thank you Amy & Greg!
Amy (Greg's wife) was very helpful and friendly. I found the apartment to be quiet and the bed comfortable. This was only my second time using airbnb, so I would say that this is not really a complaint but just a takeaway lesson. Staying here is very much like staying at your friend's apartment, meaning (for example) you will be showering amidst the owners' personal items (soap, razor, shampoo, etc). Otherwise, it was a great bargain and as described.
Great place to stay in SF - cute, clean, and in a great location. Parking was easy on the verrrry steep hill just up the block from the apartment. The guest bedroom faces the street, but if you turn on the fan and close the blinds/curtain, you can't hear the train that's nearby. Thanks Greg and Amy!
From the process of booking the apartment, to checking out, Greg and his wife Amy were very helpful! Everyone else's reviews were spot on-- the location was perfect. My boyfriend and I walked two blocks down to 24th street where there was everything we needed! Restaurants, a gym, whole foods, etc. There really wasn't anything else we could have asked for.. the apartment was perfect for what we needed. Amy also made herself available through the weekend to answer any questions that came up. I would definitely look to stay here again for my next san francisco trip!
Had a wonderful stay. Greg's apartment was clean, comfortable, quiet, and still fairly close to the action.
Greg and Amy have a very nice apartment located ideally in the NOE valley.
Parking was available and it was an easy walk to the restaurants and shopping on 24th street.
We will definitely stay there again.
We stayed in this great apartment over 4th if July weekend. It has all the great amenities of home plus the amazing convenience of a Muni train out your doorstep. We appreciated the recommendations of places to eat in the area. El Farolito had an amazing quesadilla. Oh my!! Delores park is so close as well as the Bi Rite with delicious ice cream. I was a touch worried about the futon bed but my overly sensitive girlfriend was totally comfy on it. Would stay here again.
Cute place, low price, awesome location. My boyfriend and I stayed there for 2 nights. We checked in late and their little self check-in system is just so convenient. The apartment was clean, very cosy. Surprisingly enough, The futon was very comfortable as well! Overall no problems with this cute place. The only setback is that if you go drinking, upon returning, you have to go through uphills to get to the house. Make sure to have some money aside for cab fare!
The hosts are amazing. They are responsive, and they even had welcoming instructions with our names. They were very sweet, although we did not meet Greg and his wife Amy. I would stay here again! Its cheap and you're so close to everything!
Greg and Amy were awesome! They were very responsive to questions, their place is lovely and cozy, and the location can't be beat. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
