Our 4 Bedroom home sits in the Upper Kalihi Valley in Honolulu along the Kalihi Stream off the Like Like highway which is 5 minutes from the airport. This home is central to all things Oahu and 15 minutes to Waikiki and 5 minutes to Kaneohe. I am originally from Portland, Oregon USA and have lived here for 10 years, my wife is from Milan, Italy. The stream runs behind the home in the backyard. High speed internet and cable for free. We are near the end of a road so there isn't any street noise nearby.
There is plenty of parking space directly in front of our house on the street. The room has it's own refrigerator. Of course you'll have access to our morning coffee and kitchen and fridge. Kids are up at 8am. We also have most anything you'll need for water or beach activities including coolers, towels, umbrellas, and ice.
The pictures are of the large 10 window off the kitchen and carport.
We share our house with our guests and don't expect you to stay quietly huddled away without disturbing us. If you prefer to stay private that's ok too.
You actually don't pay a thing until you've already stayed here one night.
Because our prices aren't outrageous, we receive a lot of inquiries. I have had long personal discussions with people who haven't booked and I've had to tell them sorry because someone else booked first. Please don't make me have to tell someone no, it doesn't feel good. When you are approved that means you will need to accept the approval and then the room is yours.
Koʻolau Range is a name given to the fragmented remnant of the eastern or windward shield volcano of the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu. It is not a mountain range in the normal sense, because it was formed as a single mountain called Koʻolau Volcano. Our house is directly above Honolulu.

Kind, accommodating family...not the place for someone with an allergy to cat hair.
I was only there for one night but it was perfect. It is close to the airport and all things Oahu. My three year old daughter loved to play with Kenny's kids. The place is very basic but if you are on a budget it is perfect place.
Had a great stay there!
I was only staying two nights, the place is very basic, but if you're on a budget, it is the perfect place
Kenny was enthusiastic kids are cute as well with mother.
Andy & Enid.
We had a great time with Ken and Elly, they are very hospitiable, friendly and welcoming hosts. They were more than willing to help with our requests and Ken gave us a lift home from the city which was so generous of him.
The room was very clean and we were provided with everything we could have wanted.
We would definitely recommend this to people going to Honolulu.
Probably the best deal in Oahu. Room is very comfortable and clean and you fall asleep to the relaxing sound of a stream in the backyard. Hosts are accommodating and very friendly. I already miss their lovely kids. Very close to airport, Pearl Harbor. A good base from which to explore the island.
This was my longer stay with Ken, Elle, Bella & Noah. This time I had a rental car, and this really is necessary if you going to stay there for any period, as there are few convenient buses (although the #7 bus goes from the end of Numana Road). I found this location to be perfect for getting around Honolulu, and particularly loved the nearby Kamehameha Shopping Centre on the corner of Likelike Hwy and School St. There is a great supermarket, drug store and other wonderful shops and it's very convenient. I can personally recommend the 'Sumo Ramen & Curry' shop - yum! It was great to be in an 'everyday' part of Honolulu rather than in the relative glitz of Waikiki. When I spent time in Waikiki later, I decided that I was glad that I wasn't staying there. During my stay, Elle, very kindly, let me do some laundry at no extra charge, and the free wi-fi was wonderful. The kids are great but they are hesitant to leave your room if they get in there (I had to pick Bella up and lift her out a couple of times, but not before we had played several rounds of 'peek-a-boo'!). Elle does like incense, so if this annoys you, you just need to close the door and stay in your room. The TV in the room is great - there are many channels, but a remote control would be nice. The TV in the main lounge is almost always on kids programmes, but that's kind of fun too! My experience is that the coffee often wasn't on, but that's only a small thing. For friendly, comfortable, and cheap accommodation in Honolulu, you can't beat this place.
This place is what I hoped for on my first trip to Hawaii. This family is active but friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed feeling like part of the action. The hosts were accommodating, everything was clean and comfy on my four-night stay. I hope to stay again on my next trip.
This brief stay before my Hawaiian cruise was great. With a fairly late flight arrival into Honolulu, Elle welcomed me warmly and ensured that I had everything I needed. Next morning, it was really fun to play with the two kids, Bella & Noah, and I appreciated being able to leave the house late morning rather than having to check out early.
A nice and economical option for Honolulu. We were only looking for an affordable place to sleep and clean up and Kenny's home was a good fit. The family and pets are friendly, but if you're looking for resort-like features this isn't the place for you. Definitely give it a look!
