A converted drying loft in a historic building, this 85 square meter penthouse on the 5th floor overlooks the harbor with a direct view to the Opera house on the other side of the water. The Queen's castle, Amalienborg, is the next door neighbor. Extremely quiet in spite of the super central location.
Amenities include own balcony, broadband Wi-Fi, Mac computer hooked up to a 46" Sony Bravia flat-screen TV and stereo, double bed, open kitchen and bathroom with shower. Mint condition!
The area is filled with quality restaurants, cafés, bars, night clubs, stores, auction houses, art galleries and much more. The Royal Danish Theatre and the atmospheric Nyhavn with its sailing boats and old houses are literally just five minutes away.
If you stroll North, Copenhagen's historic Citadel (Kastellet) is a ten minute walk along the waterfront. An old fortress, it is the oldest functioning barracks in the world and a green and beautiful place for a walk. The Little Mermaid is also within walking distance if you feel like hanging out with Japanese tourists :-)
In terms of transportation, the Kongens Nytorv Metro station is just a 10 minute walk away and there are bus lines nearby to take you anywhere you want to go.
A lovely stay and a lovely apartment. Even though it was at very short notice, Stefen was able to accommodate me and everything went very smoothly. Great interior design and bookshelf too! As with other reviewers, I'll stress that you need to prepare for many flights of stairs; and bear in mind it's a huge studio and not a one bedroom.
Perfect location, very nice apartment, with all amenities and nice views over the harbor. Stefan is a very friendly and helpful host. Please note that this place is all in one loft space, including bedroom. Recommended!
This apartment is amazing. I stayed for 20 days and really enjoyed it. The location is central, but in a quiet area of the city. Stefan was very flexible in arranging move in, so I could go straight from the airport.
My first choice next time I need a place in Copenhagen.
Stefan was a great host. Communication was efficient and the apartment was spacious, well appointed, bright, with a beautiful view of the opera house and Queens gardens. Lots of steps up to the apartment but worth the effort.
Stefan is a true gentleman and the perfect host. He made us feel at home and offered us tips to get around the neighborhood.
His apartment is in a very nice neighborhood in Copenhagen (right next door from an embassy) within walking distance to everything you may want or need, yet situated on a quieter street; it's spotless, tasteful and super-comfy, so much so that I had even a harder time than usual to leave my favorite city behind.
We are already looking forward to our next stay ;)
I booked Stefan's apartment for an employee for a business trip and he was very satisfied and would stay there again.
Stefan is a fantastic host. He did a lot of research about transport and supermarket shopping to make my stay easy and comfortable. He carried my case up the 82 steps to his apartment upon my arrival. But don't let the steps deter you. There are 12 landings and the steps are wide, so the climb is easy to do. Stefan greeted me himself as I arrived, and he welcomed me with a bottle of red wine and a block of dark chocolate ( yum!), and a heap of info as to local attractions and street maps. His penthouse apartment is delightful, and the bed is a dream! Best sleep ever! The apartment is set amidst a number of Consulates ( ie Netherlands, Portugal, etc), as well as having the Amalienborg Palace (where the Danish royals reside) next door and a view of the Opera House across the water. The Admiral Hotel, and Salt, a famous restaurant are directly opposite, as is the bus stop for the Hop On - Hop Off buses to the Kastelet and the Little Mermaid. As a result, there is easy access to taxis if needed.
You couldn't have a better host than Stefan. Warm, welcoming, communicative, and flexible. I really felt at home in his apartment, and with him as host. Thank you Stefan.
Staying at Stefan's place was truly a great experience! The apartment was well equipped, presentable and tidy upon arrival. Stefan was great with respect to maintaining an open line of communication both prior to my arrival and during my stay.
The view of the Opera, the harbour and the Amaliehaven gardens is wonderful.
The living area is very nice and relaxing.
The huge dining and working table is amazing.
Stefan is a very friendly person.
Stefan's place in Copenhagen was home away from home for us. Within 15 minutes of arriving, we were totally comfortable and relaxed.
Some of the special things:
-comfortable bed and living space
-awesome tv, cable, speakers
-tons of windows, light, breeze
-great location, close to the stroget, multiple parks and the magasin department store - its a beautiful, storybook part of copenhagen
Stefan was helpful, friendly and very fast to respond. He made everything easy for us. Thank you!
