"He’s the kind of guy who can find something in common with just about everyone." -Seth Kugel New York Times.
The Pecan Room, is on the Southeast corner of the house. It features incredible morning light, and a very comfortable firm queen bed. The room opens up to the large upstairs back porch and hammock, making it one of the most relaxing room in the house. It also has a fullsize closet, a small desk, and a direct door to the upstairs bathroom.
Cool Air Conditioning & Fast Wifi
This house is perfect for people who enjoy relaxing in the hammock, listening to birds, feeling the sea breeze, and reading a good book :) If you would prefer blaring TVs, and convenience to the airport, this is not the place you will enjoy. I'm very easy-going and happy to share many fun activities:
**Bicycling -- I have a Tandem you can use!
**Kayaks & Canoeing -- Right here from the house, with a boat launch 2 houses away!
**I'm a Boat Captain -- For a small fee, I offer sunset sailboat rides and Remote Island exploring!
**Beautiful Running Trail -- Completely safe, high-end neighborhood.
The house has two guest rooms, sharing 1 very nice upstairs bathroom. You're more than welcomed to use the kitchen. I love having great conversation while making dinner or breakfast with new friends from around the world. There are many fun activities, and great eats in Savannah, and close to Mi Casa! I love being a host and sharing tips and ideas with my guests! I love to keep this house full of laughter and good vibes, this house is very peaceful and magical. I'm a traveler myself, and I love the opportunity to show this amazing city to other travelers enjoying the journey of life.
Interesting Facts of this House:
This is a beautiful tree house built in 1932, making it one of the oldest houses on Whitemarsh Island. This house has been recently remodeled to show off its original all-wood charm and keep you feeling like you are high up in the island forest.
**Next door to an Native American Mound
**Also next door to a civil war battery (there's a mote besides the driveway remaining)
You really need a car or motorcycle to stay here.
99% of my guests are amazing people! ...I mean really awesome people! However, there is that 1%.
(IF YOU VOTED FOR MITT ROMNEY, PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!) It's not about politics, it's just you don't get this whole "shared" concept and that doesn't lend itself to being a good guest...
Max. 2 people per room.
Please no one under 18.
(kids are cute and I like them, but this is not a good place for the little ones. I do have full houses for almost the same price.)
No smoking in the house. It's 2015. Be kind to your body. :)
No pets. ( I love dogs, but I keep the house really clean for people who have allergies).
Be respectful of the age of the house and the tranquillity here.
Thanks for reading. you probably already knew all of this. and therefore is it intended for someone else. Please enjoy your day, you are a good person. :)
Jonathan made sure that he was there to greet me when I arrived, which I really appreciated. He gave me a quick tour of the house and had a great cheat sheet of house rules.
We spent 2 nights at Jonathans beautiful home! We felt very welcome and the house is great, the only thing is that it is a little bit clairaudient. But it is just beautiful to sit at the porch and relax!!!
We had a wonderful time staying in the pecan room and will definitely be back to Savannah many more times. The location is right between downtown and the beach and neighborhood is beautiful and relaxing. The back deck was very tranquil and a nice way to start the day or end the evening just spending time hanging out there. We recommend using uber while staying here to get in and out of Savannah especially if you will be drinking but the ubers are not too pricey. If you are not a morning person, there are always breakfast munchies available in the kitchen for a quick bite before heading out.
Jonathan was very hospitable! He made us right at home! We loved the location it was perfect to get to the beach and downtown in no time. The room was perfect and the porch is to die for! Would stay again!
This is a great place to stay if you're lucky enough for it to be available. The house is super cute, unique, and has the right amount of lived-in feeling. If you're wanting a cookie cutter bed and breakfast experience, this isn't it. If you're looking for a positive, one of a kind airbnb experience, this is it.
Jonathan (and Carmen if you're fortunate to meet her) is an excellent host who will make you feel right at home. He's probably even got a story about the area you live in. And if he doesn't know one, he's got plenty of other great stories to share if you want to listen. But if you also don't want to be bothered, he's happy letting you be. The room is exactly as pictured, comfy bed and TONS of windows with natural lighting. Awesomely quiet neighborhood and great back porch for enjoying your morning coffee. I hope the next time I come to Savannah, this room is available for me again.
The Pecan Room was (email hidden)e morning light was beautiful and we enjoyed the easy access to the porch. This was our first time in Savannah and first time using Airbnb, and both we're a pleasant experience!
We only stayed for one night but Jonathan's place was cozy and in a perfect location for getting to Tybee Island or downtown Savannah.
