The Space

Welcome to Casa de la Ceiba!

This magical, eclectic retreat is only a 10min. drive from the historic district and 10min. from Tybee Beach! I've been hosting Airbnb from the very beginning, and it is my pleasure to share with you my spacious, yet quaint, nature-lovers paradise!

"He’s the kind of guy who can find something in common with just about everyone." -Seth Kugel New York Times.

The Pecan Room, is on the Southeast corner of the house. It features incredible morning light, and a very comfortable firm queen bed. The room opens up to the large upstairs back porch and hammock, making it one of the most relaxing room in the house. It also has a fullsize closet, a small desk, and a direct door to the upstairs bathroom.

Cool Air Conditioning & Fast Wifi

This house is perfect for people who enjoy relaxing in the hammock, listening to birds, feeling the sea breeze, and reading a good book :) If you would prefer blaring TVs, and convenience to the airport, this is not the place you will enjoy. I'm very easy-going and happy to share many fun activities:

**Bicycling -- I have a Tandem you can use!

**Kayaks & Canoeing -- Right here from the house, with a boat launch 2 houses away!

**I'm a Boat Captain -- For a small fee, I offer sunset sailboat rides and Remote Island exploring!

**Beautiful Running Trail -- Completely safe, high-end neighborhood.

The house has two guest rooms, sharing 1 very nice upstairs bathroom. You're more than welcomed to use the kitchen. I love having great conversation while making dinner or breakfast with new friends from around the world. There are many fun activities, and great eats in Savannah, and close to Mi Casa! I love being a host and sharing tips and ideas with my guests! I love to keep this house full of laughter and good vibes, this house is very peaceful and magical. I'm a traveler myself, and I love the opportunity to show this amazing city to other travelers enjoying the journey of life.

Interesting Facts of this House:
This is a beautiful tree house built in 1932, making it one of the oldest houses on Whitemarsh Island. This house has been recently remodeled to show off its original all-wood charm and keep you feeling like you are high up in the island forest.

**Next door to an Native American Mound
**Also next door to a civil war battery (there's a mote besides the driveway remaining)

  • Jonathan was very friendly and helpful. He told us about great things to do in the area and which restaurants we should go to. The room was beautiful, and the house is located in a great neighborhood near the beach. We enjoyed our stay!

  • We stayed in Savannah for a quick 2 night trip. Johnathan was a very accommodating and nice host. He even provides delicious coffee and breakfast! The neighborhood is quiet but beautiful and filled with old oak trees and spanish moss. It is also about a block away from the river. I would recommend staying here for anyone who likes staying off the beaten path.

  • Perfect location and a beautiful house. I was in desperate need of an escape from reality, and Jonathan provided just that. I would highly recommend experiencing all that he/his house has to offer.

  • Jonathan was very helpful and easy to talk to. He also told us a lot about the area and places to eat. The house is very charming and green. The room was comfortable and clean with a beautiful wraparound patio.
The neighborhod is quiet and just ten minutes away from tybee island and downtown Savannah. Its filled with southern oaks and spanish moss that adds to the southern charm ( at least for us notherners) We loved Savannah and our experience there.

  • Lovely stay, highly recommended. Took advantage of the kayaking, which was a lot of fun. Jonathan helped me with this and was very hospitable overall. Bedroom was clean and I melted into the comfortable bed. Loved the abundance of natural light streaming through in the mornings and afternoons. Hammock and large outdoor seating area are right outside your door. Check out the Flying Fish (local seafood, scrumptious) or Ele Fusion restaurants, both of which are 5 minutes from the house. However, this is humid Georgia - they have bug spray, so use it!

  • Lovely, light room full of sunshine. Jonathan and Arda were really welcoming. If you need anything, it's probably best to ask and not assume it will be provided.

  • My fiance and I enjoyed our weekend stay in Savannah, especially our dreamy little "Pecan Room". Jonathan and his girlfriend were wonderful hosts, very accommodating and super friendly! The space itself is clean, comfy and the air conditioning works great. We were treated to pancakes our first morning that were yummy... thanks for the secret ingredients tip! : )

This was a much better alternative than staying downtown at an overpriced hotel. You get the best of both worlds at this location, about 10-15 minutes from the beach and about 10-15 minutes to downtown Savannah. The back porch was a perfect spot for my fiance to lounge on the hammock and read while I got ready by the window inside (there is a nice makeup mirror provided). There is a closet to hang your clothes and an armoire to put away any other necessities. I must note that the bedrooms are in somewhat close proximity to one another and the bathroom is shared with other guests, but it was not an issue during our stay.

I would highly recommend to other airbnb guests. Thanks!!

  • Jonathan is a very friendly, open, laid back person. We arrived later then expected, this was not a problem at all since the door was unlocked, and we could just walk in and install ourselves in the lovely Pecan room. In fact we didn't need a key the whole time we were there, the door of his house was always open, also when Jonathan wasn't there, which was the case most of the time we spent in his house. He let us use his kitchen which was also very nice even though we had to do his dishes before we could cook our meals. The back porch is simply amazing and could even be more beautiful if the dead plants would be thrown away together with all the leaves laying on the floor. The room was clean and comfortable, only thing we missed were towels and toiletpaper.
