Eric and Diana welcome you to join them in their warm and accepting log home, quaint and somewhat rustic, but with modern amenities, nestled in the Pine River Valley, an hour north of Pearson Airport. Relax, hike the Bruce Trail, hot tub, bonfire…. Enjoy a full breakfast.

During Covid we accept only one booking at a time, but can accommodate a group of 10.

We expect our guests to have adhered to social isolation government guidelines. Thanks for your co-operation.

The space
Our open concept space offers an experience of community and family if you wish, although during these COVID times, we are limiting our guests to one couple/pod/family per night. Bedrooms are cozy, comfortable and private. Hike the Bruce Trail, enjoy the beauty of the Pine River Fishing Park, relax on our front deck, soak in the hot tub and take in the view, or enjoy a pretty country drive down River Road. Only steps away from scenic hiking trails just outside of our front door. Seasonal opportunities of skiing, hiking and many more activities are a short drive away.

Guest access
Access to all common areas and decks on main floor of house. Shared use of kitchen,BBQ, hot tub etc. Private bathroom. The yard has a fire pit.

Other things to note
Because the house is set into the hillside, access is by several flights of stairs and not wheelchair friendly, sorry.

During these COVID times, guests are restricted to one pod/family per night, so once you book, we will block the other rooms. So you will have a private bathroom for your group, but since we live here the kitchen space will be shared.

Please note that we have 3 other rooms which are available for rental but as we are limited our bookings to one couple/group/family/pod per evening, its a great time to consider booking with a group, as there are discounts available. Ask for details.

Pets and children are welcome, but please let us know.

The Second Line of Mulmur is unpaved and, although maintained, can pose seasonal access challenges to some vehicles.

School teacher, musician, songwriter and mother of 6 children in a blended family, I live my life as an adventure. I was a single mom with 4 children when I built The Log House in the Pine River Valley Mulmur Ontario with help from family and friends. I'm passionate about community and have hosted many retreats at The Log House since 1989. After teaching and working in the music business, I now own a store in Shelburne Ontario called Second Fiddle. My husband Eric and I also produced workshops in love, intimacy and sexuality for many years. This year I added our family home on Pine Island Florida to our listings. My parents chose Pine Island to spend their winters because they loved bird watching, fishing, the friendly neighbours, and the quiet laid back island with the huge pine trees that reminded them of their Ontario home. I share the Pine Island hosting with my sister Erin, who has an organic farm with her husband, Ron and their family in Lytton BC. On Pine Island Erin and Ron are passionate about kayaking, exploring the nature preserves, and biking and Eric and I enjoy the amazing garage sales and flea markets where we find great treasures for our store.
