What a wonderful place! The apartment is as described in the listing, super clean and very comfortable. Very light and a beautiful view of the Banana River right out the front door and a two-minute walk to one of the nicest beaches on the east coast of Florida. Nice little touches all around, like a fully stocked kitchen, coffee maker, hair dryer and other supplies. Ready access to kayaks, beach chairs and anything else you might need for a great, relaxing trip. Jason is the right balance of helpful and friendly without being overbearing. We spent our last night there watching the pelicans dive for dinner!
We had a wonderful time and the apartment was fantastic! Everything was just as pictured, very comfortable for 3 of us. Jason went out of his way to make us feel welcome and make sure we had what we needed. The apartment had the necessary kitchen supplies for us to have full use of the kitchenette. It was very clean and comfortable.
After reading the reviews and looking at the photos for this property, our expectations were high. Delighted to say that the reviews were spot on and our expectations were more than met. Be sure to use the bikes provided to ride the beach at low tide. We were lucky enough to be able to do this all 5 days we spent here. Plenty of room for two in tastefully decorated rooms. Hard to believe, but true; one minute you're sitting on their dock enjoying the views of the Banana River and less than a 5 minute walk later, you get enjoy views of the ocean from Cocoa Beach on the comfortable beach chairs also provided. Jason and Dana very gracious and accommodating hosts.
Be sure to visit Florida Fresh Grill just a short ride away your first night; guaranteed you'll return at least one of your other nights. Please say hello to hostess Kimberlynn for us!
Just back from a 5 night break. Ideally located in a quiet area with the Banana river right at the end of the garden with a deck and 2 chairs to sit and watch the wonderful sunsets and watch the fish jumping from the water. We also saw Stingrays in the water. The uncrowded beach is a couple of minutes walk across the road which we visited every day with the Equipment supplied. Our Son loved the Body Board in the waves. We were given a list of recommended resturants which are all within a 10 minute drive. There are also a couple within walking distance. Jason and Dana are both available if anything is needed. Highly Recomended.
Jason was a great host. The flat was well presented, clean and had everything we need. The sunset and jetty were simply beautiful. I will be recommending it to my friends and would happily return.
This place is amazing...even better than we were expecting. The location could not be better and the hosts were incredibly kind and responsive.
Location: a few miles south of Cape Canaveral (we saw a rocket launch from a nearby restaurant on our first day!) and just south of the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop (where the beaches are busier). Jason and Dana's place is nestled between the beautiful Banana River (which is 3 miles wide) and the Atlantic Ocean. We alternated between to the two water fronts depending on the time of day (beach in the morning, river in the evening, sunrise/sunset). The ocean is a short walk away and the best part, for us, was that it was never crowded...the geography of the area really limits the number of hotels and other high density structures, which really limits the crowds. Even better, you literally just cross the street and you're there. The apartment is totally private, peaceful, and in a very safe neighborhood (many cars were parked with their windows open over night). We appreciated the full fridge and cook top, which allowed us to eat in several nights and enjoy the sunset view from the apartment.
Hosts: Jason and Dana are outstanding hosts! They really made us feel like house guests: loaning us beach equipment (chairs, towels, boogie boards) and offering us use of their kayaks (scheduling and weather just didn't cooperate for us to use them). Jason even brought by fresh oranges from a nearby grove, which we really appreciated. They also have a list of places to eat, conveniently categorized for types of meals...we especially like the Florida Fresh Grill.
I grew up in Cocoa Beach so being surrounded by water it was only natural to become an avid surfer and fisherman. Traveling to Surf has taken me all over the world. Some of my favorite trips include Central America, the Caribbean, Thailand and Indonesia.
