Bairbre was SO wonderful! She had such great recommendations and walked us through them all on the map. Those recommendations (whether pubs or historical sites) really made our experience as full as it was.
She was so helpful and thorough with directions to her place and really walked it out for us with reassuring landmarks along the way (we decided to walk from train station which took a little time but not bad. There are short bus rides if you'd rather. )
Her place was very charming and clean. She had a thoughtful breakfast setting out for us even though we had to leave earlier.
All in all, Bairbre was just so nice and I would highly recommend staying here. I hope our paths cross again!
We had a truly wonderful time in Dublin, mainly thanks to Bairbre's generosity, her knowledge of the area and her incredibly charming and perfectly located home. With the city centre in walking distance (15 min), we loved the tranquility of the quaint neighbourhood and we would undoubtedly contact her again the next time we're Dublin bound. Bairbre, thanks for everything and please let us know if you ever make it across the pond.
Staying with Bairbre was one of the best things we did in Dublin! She was so nice and helpful! She gave us great recommendations on what to see and how to get around, and we had a great time just chatting with her! The house was great, too! It has everything we needed, and it was decorated with such charm. It was also at a great location, just a block away from a bike station! All in all, I would highly recommend staying with Bairbre to anyone!
Class spot...beautiful home...the bed was very comfortable....close to O' Connell street too...we will defiantly be back. Thank you Bairbre
Bairbre was very nice and kind.
The room, the bathroom and the house are wonderful!
A bit far (by foot) from the city center, especially to go to the south of Liffey.
Had a wonderful stay!! The place is so beautiful and charming, even more so than the pictures show. Bairbre spent a lot of time with us when we arrived mapping things out for us in the city and giving us recommendations and answering our questions. About a 20 minute walk from the city centre/temple bar area, totally manageable, and an inexpensive cab ride back at night when it was too late to walk. Definitely recommend!
About the Host, Bairbre
I’m a native Dubliner. I live in Phibsborough a vibrant, multicultural neighbourhood just ten minutes walk from the city centre and half an hour from the Airport. There’s lots to see and do in Dublin and I’ll be happy to fill you in on places of interest and activities you might enjoy during your visit.
My house is old, built in 1883 and full of character ( including creaky floorboards). The bedroom is on the ground floor and is quiet and looks out on the garden. I do have a fluffy cat so probably not a good choice if you have allergies.
If you’re looking to take a break from the busyness of the city both the National Botanic Gardens and Phoenix Park are in walking distance and well worth a visit and the charming Blessington St. Basin is just around the corner.
Great local place for coffee, sandwiches, soup and main meals open. 7.30- 6 p.m. And they serve a massive Irish breakfast all day. Great coffee and great music too!Frederick St N Dublin Dublin
