About this listing

Cozy cottage with charming bedroom, bath and kitchen 2 miles from Sonoma Plaza.

The space

Our cottage is a brand new, 400 square foot private getaway full of farmhouse inspired charm! It features one bedroom with a comfy queen size bed with handmade reclaimed wood headboard and a spacious armoire.

The kitchen comes equipped with a vintage 1960 GE refrigerator, 4 burner stove, toaster and microwave. It is stocked with cooking utensils and pots/pans should the need to whip up a meal strike you. We also have a French press, tea pot and blender.

The main room has cable TV and a futon that coverts into a full sized bed. Extra linens and a snuggly duvet are available. We also have a dining table for two and a full supply of glassware and utensils.

The bathroom is a full 3 piece washroom with roomy shower. The shelves are handmade from wine boxes and the hardware from galvanized steel!

Guest access

Guests have their own dedicated space to relax and enjoy the beauty of wine country. We offer guests a complimentary bottle of wine (with a two night stay or longer) as well as all the supplies to make 'smores! In the outdoor space, guests can relax around their own fire pit or grill up dinner on their own BBQ. We will also be extending the use of 2 bikes for guests to use...the Sonoma plaza is a quick 2 mile pedal away!

Interaction with guests

The cottage is located behind our home, so we are usually here to greet our guests and get them settled in. My husband, Alex, grew up right here in Sonoma and is so knowledgeable about the area. We love to provide guests with suggestions on our favorite wineries, shops, places to eat and things to do from a locals perspective!

We love our little cottage and ask that you please treat it well! We don't allow smoking inside the cottage, please. Also, as much as we love them, there are no pets allowed. Our home does share the space with the cottage, so we ask that guests keep music and voices to a reasonable level, especially when enjoying the outdoor areas.
When you leave, please tidy up. I don't expect the house to be sparkling (you are on vacation) but please try to leave the cottage as close to how you found it as possible. Dirty linens (sheets and towels) can be left on the floor. Please wash your dishes and put them away. Thanks!!

Heather's cottage was gorgeous! The place is very rustic and is super cute and well decorated inside. The space is small, but definitely enough room for 2-3 people. The cottage is located in the back of her home, which was easy to access by a side path through the back yard so it was still private and we didn't feel like we were disturbing anyone coming and going. There was a large backyard space at our disposal but we didn't have time to use it. The space sleeps three; there is a queen bedroom in one room and a single bed (twin) in the living area. The space would be ideal for 2 people as the person sleeping on the couch had to deal with all the traffic to the restroom/kitchen in the night, but that was just the nature of a shared common space. Additionally, the bedroom has a heavy barn door that closes it, but it wasn't exactly "sound proof" as it doesn't close tightly like a regular door, so if you are hoping for that kind of privacy from the person in the common space, don't expect it ;) Otherwise we loved the space, it was very cozy and convenient to everything in Sonoma and only 40 min to Napa area excursions. Thanks Heather!!

Wonderful stay! The cottage was exactly what my boyfriend and I wanted during our first trip to Sonoma.. cozy, great location, and practical for all of our needs. Heather and her family were very welcoming and made us feel right at home.. I'd definitely choose to stay here again!

Our first time in Sonoma. We will go back and we will be staying with Heather at this lovely place. My wife and I were very busy and as such did not meet Heather until the last day we were leaving. She was wonderful and would loved to have chatted more. This p[lace is a gem. Excellent on all fronts to ensure a very quiet and comfortable stay. Very thoughtfully had coffee, Smores and and a Nice Chardonnay waithing for us. Thanks you Heather.

Our stay was great! The guesthouse is so cozy and well-stocked, including the kitchen, which has everything you need to cook full meals. We enjoyed making ourselves brunch both mornings that we were there and took full advantage of the provided french press and coffee! The location is really pretty and quiet. Also, Heather was really nice and her daughter was hilarious. This is a perfect place for 1-2 people to stay. It is a 7 minute drive to downtown so if you're in town for a wedding (like we were) it's quite convenient!

Great place in a beautiful setting. Was very easy to get to the main square by bike and a quick uber. Highly recommended!

I am a Florida girl who met and married a Sonoma native, and now we have the pleasure of raising our baby girl in the beautiful Sonoma wine country!
After our daughter was born I left my career in the spa industry to be a stay at home mom. Over the last 2 years I have gone from renting just the cottage behind our home to managing 5 additional properties owned by my mother and father in law. We have build our own little "cottage industry" (no pun intended!). It is truly a family affair and I am so lucky to be able to spend time with my wonderful daughter and still enjoy being in the hospitality business!
