The Space

Our cottage is a brand new, 400 square foot private getaway full of farmhouse inspired charm! It features one bedroom with a comfy queen size bed with handmade reclaimed wood headboard and a spacious armoire.

The kitchen comes equipped with a vintage 1960 GE refrigerator, 4 burner stove, toaster and microwave. It is stocked with cooking utensils and pots/pans should the need to whip up a meal strike you. We also have a French press, tea pot and blender.

The main room has cable TV and a futon that coverts into a full sized bed. Extra linens and a snuggly duvet are available. We also have a dining table for two and a full supply of glassware and utensils.

The bathroom is a full 3 piece washroom with roomy shower. The shelves are handmade from wine boxes and the hardware from galvanized steel!

Guest Access

Guests have their own dedicated space to relax and enjoy the beauty of wine country. We offer guests a complimentary bottle of wine as well as all the supplies to make 'smores! In the outdoor space, guests can relax around their own fire pit or grill up dinner on their own BBQ. We will also be extending the use of 2 bikes for guests to use...the Sonoma plaza is a quick 2 mile pedal away!

Interaction with Guests

The cottage is located behind our home, so we are usually here to greet our guests and get them settled in. My husband, Alex, grew up right here in Sonoma and is so knowledgeable about the area. We love to provide guests with suggestions on our favorite wineries, shops, places to eat and things to do from a locals perspective!

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is laid back and family oriented, and just a few minute walk to Maxwell Park. It is also conveniently located close to 3 grocery stores, restaurants (including a great Mexican spot with our favorite burritos and salsa verde) and a coffee shop, and is only 2 miles away from the downtown Sonoma Plaza. We are also located just a mile or so from the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, which has a fantastic spa that features thermal mineral pools unique to Sonoma (they do welcome day guests).

Getting around

We do offer dedicated parking at the cottage. Having a car is the easiest way to get around but if you want to enjoy the MANY wineries in Sonoma without worry, there are a number of companies that offer car service (we would be happy to provide recommendations!)

Check In
  • This is the cutest cottage. The landscaping in the back yard is outstanding (water features to die for) and the cottage is removed so to feel separate and isolated. It was so quiet that I did not check to see if there were neighbors. Heather was a sweet heart and the cottage offered more than we expected. We spent two nights but needed seven!

    Response from Heather:

Thanks for the feedback John! We were able to fix the door the weekend after you left-we had to take it off the hinges and plane it down and remove the bottom trim so it turned out to be a bit of a project-we needed a day no one was staying!

  • The cottage is lovely - exactly what we were looking for and exactly as advertised. The place is comfortable, beautifully designed, and has everything you might need. Heather was friendly and flexible. And the location was quiet and just a quick drive to downtown Sonoma. We had a fantastic stay!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Annabelle's cottage! Heather met us and walked us back to our private cottage. Everything was so clean! Easy access to downtown Sonoma. Peaceful morning coffee in the back garden!

  • I would definitely recommend the cottage to others. It was private, clean and very cool. The owners were very flexible in our arrival check-in, and very responsive to messages and texts. I wished we had more time to enjoy the outside area and the bikes. The yard itself is one of the coolest I have ever seen!

  • The cottage was beautifully decorated and cozy. Very welcoming. They even left a bottle of wine and s'more makings for our private fire pit in the beautifully landscaped back yard. Heather and her family were there to greet us, and to make sure we were settled in. They even provided bikes that we happily road around Sonoma. It was a perfect way to visit a bunch of the local vineyards! This was a wonderful home away from home in a beautiful setting. Thanks Heather!!

  • Beautiful cottage. Host went out of their way to make it as comfortable a trip as possible. I would definitely return.

  • Wow! Perfect from start to finish. We were greeted by Heather who gave us a tour of her lovely unit. It was sparkling clean, comfortable and in a great location. After checking out Sonoma (you have to drive, not walk), we sat outside around the fire pit and made s'mores- kit kindly provided by Heather and also drank some yummy wine she left for us as well. I highly recommend this place for relaxing away from the hubub of Sonoma. It is quiet, clean and is well stocked in case you want to cook. It has AC too!

  • Heather could not have made us feel more at home, and she was super easy to communicate with. From driving directions to recommendations for a local babysitter for our sixth month old, Heather was exceedingly helpful and hospitable. She and her husband have thoughtfully created a really lovely backyard retreat. A five minute drive from the bustle of the square, we appreciated the quiet and loved being able to sleep in. Such a great getaway!

  • The cottage was wonderful! We were a group of 3 travelers, and it was a perfect size for us. Heather was so friendly and welcoming, and had thought of all the details, from kitchen necessities for making dinner to all the makings for s'mores. The back yard was a little paradise and was just a lovely place to hang out. We would definitely go back!

  • Awesome little cottage just outside of downtown Sonoma. The distance is too far to comfortably walk, but it's a nice short drive. Perfect for a couple doing a few nights in wine country.
