Come discover what the locals know: any activity, from backcountry skiing to snowshoeing, shopping to gaming, hottubbing to dining, is best in North Lake Tahoe because our winter wonderland is blessed with more than 274 days of sun annually.

Unfortunately, we do not provide fire wood for the fire places nor pellets for the pellet stove. So sorry but we stopped doing this because it is difficult for us to manage it from the Bay Area and because we want to discourage fires because of the drought. Too dangerous. We hope you understand.

Hello fellow Airbnb user,
Thank you for choosing our home for your Tahoe vacation. We hope you and your guests have a fabulous time at the cabin.
The house is located at Clayton Way, Carnelian Bay Heights, California 96145 (off Old County Road on the North Shore). The lock box is the black rubber box to the left of the front door. Just pull the plastic off it and you will see it. The lock box combination will be set and emailed to you about a week before your arrival date. In the lock box you will find one garage opener, 2 copies of the front door and 1 copy of the door inside the garage.
Due to the drought - NO OUTSIDE FIRES! NOT EVEN IN THE FIRE PIT! Sorry lots of ordinances going on in North Tahoe for obvious reasons... This is the worst drought in history. To dangerous.
Pets are not allowed anywhere in the house as the owner is super allergic to all furry animals -even allergic to the so called hypoallergenic breads- :-(. The wireless internet access codes are posted on the tall kitchen cabinet wall. Please plan on bringing your own wood and pellets for the fire place as we are not always able to provide some for you. Also, please keep in mind that this is our second home, we live 4 hours away and unfortunately we do not have concierge services like hotels do but will do our best to accommodate your needs. I am always available via text.
When you arrive, please inspect the house for cleanliness; if anything is not acceptable call or text me at (phone number hidden).:

NOW THE REAL RULES: ;-)
1. NO OUTSIDE FIRES - not even in the fire place.
2. Place all used towels and bed sheets (not comforters) on the floor.
2. Set the dishwasher and make sure there is no food or crumbs out for rodents.
3. Clean your own wine or food stains from the carpets.
4.****Set thermostat back to 55 degrees****
5. Close all doors and windows – especially make sure the upstairs balcony glass French door is locked (if not locked this door can open up – since this is a vacation home it would mean no one there to close it and a huge gas and electric bill will come out of your deposit.
6. Take all trash out and put inside the bear box. If it does not fit in the bear box it goes home with you. Do not leave trash anywhere in the house – especially in the garage as animals have broken the garage door to get in before.
7. All recyclables must be in blue bags (blue bags are under kitchen sink) and all recyclables must be rinsed (to prevent animals from ripping bags looking for food- we get fined if animals rip bags – such fine will come from your deposit- make sure what you put in blue bags is rinsed- or take with you). Recycle truck will only pick up blue recycle bags.
8. Trash and recycle is picked up Thursday mornings (normally anytime from 8am to 11am).
9. Out of respect for the neighbors please try to not use the hot tub past 10pm.
10. Do not rearrange furniture –make sure all furniture is exactly how you found it. The cleaning crew charges for repositioning furniture.
11. Leave all keys and garage opener in the lock box.

The house is amazing. 4 private rooms with queen beds in each room and another room with bunk beds. Couples have no problem with privacy at the end of the day. Great hot tub outside. On site laundry. All the cooking equipment you need. Lots of storage in fridges for all the beer you will need to keep cold. Plenty of games hidden in the closets. The ONLY problem we had was the lack of toilet paper and paper towels. One roll of TP in each of the three bathrooms for 3 days and one roll of paper towels in the kitchen. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal but when you're paying over $500 a night, you tend to expect more. We were, however, told by our hosts that this was the case and to expect it. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend staying here. The hosts were also easy to contact and fast at responding.
Sandy is a great host. She answered all of my questions promptly. The house is great. Love the decks and the relaxing atmosphere. Convenient location to everything you would want to do on North Shore. Would definitely book again.
Sandy was prompt and helpful with the rental. The house is great for up to 12 people who want to be close to either the lake, Tahoe City, or Squaw Alpine. The upstairs living room area and deck are really nice places to hang out on a summer day.
Note that the house has some funky 1970's design: a random fire place here, a tiny kitchen, and some of the bedroom windows don't open leading to stuffy bedrooms
Sandy was very welcoming and quick to get back to me when I had questions. The property was unique and eclectic. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. Very close to town, just a few minutes to anything you could want. Would stay there again without question.
Great home, property as described, and responsive hosts! Would definitely recommend for groups staying in Tahoe.
Sandy was prompt in answering questions and was a pleasant host. The house was well stocked with kids' toys and board games, and we even enjoyed a fun evening of karaoke. The house is convenient, just minutes to markets, restaurants and other amenities. I'm thinking, though, that the house might work better in the winter than during the summer. It got quite stuffy, and several of the rooms had no cross ventilation and was uncomfortable to sleep in. Maybe AC in those rooms for the future? Also, mattresses were not super comfy, and the multiple stairs could be challenging for some people. But generally a good value for the price.
Sandy' house was a great place for our group to spend the weekend. With close proximity to the beach and to town for supplies, we were able to keep ourselves entertained and well stocked. Would book again.
