Unfortunately, we do not provide fire wood for the fire places nor pellets for the pellet stove. So sorry but we stopped doing this because it is difficult for us to manage it from the Bay Area and because we want to discourage fires because of the drought. Too dangerous. We hope you understand.

Hello fellow Airbnb user,
Thank you for choosing our home for your Tahoe vacation. We hope you and your guests have a fabulous time at the cabin.
The house is located at Clayton Way, Carnelian Bay Heights, California 96145 (off Old County Road on the North Shore). The lock box is the black rubber box to the left of the front door. Just pull the plastic off it and you will see it. The lock box combination will be set and emailed to you about a week before your arrival date. In the lock box you will find one garage opener, 2 copies of the front door and 1 copy of the door inside the garage.
Due to the drought - NO OUTSIDE FIRES! NOT EVEN IN THE FIRE PIT! Sorry lots of ordinances going on in North Tahoe for obvious reasons... This is the worst drought in history. To dangerous.
Pets are not allowed anywhere in the house as the owner is super allergic to all furry animals -even allergic to the so called hypoallergenic breads- :-(. The wireless internet access codes are posted on the tall kitchen cabinet wall. Please plan on bringing your own wood and pellets for the fire place as we are not always able to provide some for you. Also, please keep in mind that this is our second home, we live 4 hours away and unfortunately we do not have concierge services like hotels do but will do our best to accommodate your needs. I am always available via text.
When you arrive, please inspect the house for cleanliness; if anything is not acceptable call or text me at (phone number hidden).:

NOW THE REAL RULES: ;-)
1. NO OUTSIDE FIRES - not even in the fire place.
2. Place all used towels and bed sheets (not comforters) on the floor.
2. Set the dishwasher and make sure there is no food or crumbs out for rodents.
3. Clean your own wine or food stains from the carpets.
4.****Set thermostat back to 55 degrees****
5. Close all doors and windows – especially make sure the upstairs balcony glass French door is locked (if not locked this door can open up – since this is a vacation home it would mean no one there to close it and a huge gas and electric bill will come out of your deposit.
6. Take all trash out and put inside the bear box. If it does not fit in the bear box it goes home with you. Do not leave trash anywhere in the house – especially in the garage as animals have broken the garage door to get in before.
7. All recyclables must be in blue bags (blue bags are under kitchen sink) and all recyclables must be rinsed (to prevent animals from ripping bags looking for food- we get fined if animals rip bags – such fine will come from your deposit- make sure what you put in blue bags is rinsed- or take with you). Recycle truck will only pick up blue recycle bags.
8. Trash and recycle is picked up Thursday mornings (normally anytime from 8am to 11am).
9. Out of respect for the neighbors please try to not use the hot tub past 10pm.
10. Do not rearrange furniture –make sure all furniture is exactly how you found it. The cleaning crew charges for repositioning furniture.
11. Leave all keys and garage opener in the lock box.

We had a wonderful time and Sandy was a great host - gave clear instructions, answered questions quickly. We were 10 adults and a 14-month old. The couple sharing the full-sized bed felt a little cramped, as did the two adults in bunk room, but it's still something that everyone had a bed and a bedroom, and the home still had plenty of space for everyone to hang out together. As some other reviews say, it is important to get pellets for the pellet stove as that room can get cold (and owner doesn't provide, so come prepared!). It was an easy drive to Squaw, and adequate parking for our group's 4 cars. Kitchen was small, but had everything we needed, and the extra fridge by the garage was really helpful.
Sandy's house was amazing and was the perfect setting for our ski retreat! The house layout is absolutely unique but the living room and dining room were both big enough for our group of 12. The hot tub was a great perk as well. The house is not only close to Squaw, but also only about 10 mins from downtown Tahoe City where there is a Safeway. Sandy was an accommodating host and very responsive to our questions.
The home is spacious, in a great neighborhood, and Sandy was very responsive and accommodating. Also loved the hot tub. Overall, a good experience.
Here are some things that I wish could be improved: Would be nice if the owner provided wood for the fireplace, pellet for the master bedroom (probably the coldest room in the home) and hand soap for the washrooms. I knew these weren't provided coming in but they're minor things that would make one feel more welcomed. Two things that bothered me about the place is the old carpet and old couch (upstairs). We mostly stayed in the upstair couch because it is the warmest room but the couch was pretty beat up with patches. Those things make me uncomfortable about staying in another person's home. Probably not a big deal for most but thought I'd share so that you have a better idea about the place.
Great house. A short drive to Tahoe City or Squaw/Alpine Meadows. Enjoyed the hot tub. Very comfortable stay. Thanks!
My host Sandy was a pleasure to work with. The home was the right size for our family and easily accessible to Squaw and Northstar for skiing. Also, it was within a short distance to restaurants. It has a nice cabin charm. I would recommend this house highly.
