Lovely house for family and friends looking to explore the national park or to escape and just spend evenings relaxing by the fire at the sounds of the forest. Master bathroom downstairs, and 2 upstairs, one of which has 2 separate single beds.
So you may have seen the pictures of the individual rooms and wondered if the whole house could be yours instead? You found the listing! This it!
Located only 2.5 miles from the entrance of the Hawaii Volcanos National Park, in the village of Volcano (not in Mountain View, and not in the community across the road from Volcano - this is the real thing). One mile each way from the Cooper Center and Volcano Art Center.
Escape to a secluded rainforest paradise, where the only noises are raindrops on the many skylights and birds in the morning. Located in the cozy little village of Volcano, you are only about a mile away from the entrance to the Hawaii Volcanos National Park, making this the your perfect home base to explore the park and spend evenings by the fire. We are only 45 minutes from Hilo and the Hamakua coast, and about an hour away from South Point and the wonders of its wild beaches (including the famous Green Sands Beach).
You will have a private room with a queen size bed in a fully equipped home with kitchen, wireless broadband, free laundry facilities, a warm fire stove, a beautiful and sunny covered lanai (outside porch), verdant gardens, board games and a shower room to die for. The only place in the house without a view to beautiful greenery is probably underneath your bed. After a visit to Madam Pele, you will come home to a cozy spot where the stars are so bright it looks like you could touch them. The pictures do not come close to doing this beautiful place justice
Come enjoy the cool mountain climate of Volcano, visit its arts center, drive down Chain of Craters Road, wander outside amongst the giant tree ferns or just retreat for a couple of quiet days to relax and recharge your batteries.
The house was very nice. It was particularly well prepared and very comfortable. Totally recommend it. The only minor drawback was the condition of the road. We were in an SUV which made it a non-issue, In a small car it would have been a challenge,
Thanks, Mike. The road is indeed unpaved, but it is passable for small cars. We drive a small Toyota Yaris on it, and while one needs to go slow it does work. Having said that, one of the upcoming projects for the house is to get some gravel and spread it on the road to make it better - we do that regularly and it is getting to the time to do it. Thanks for the pointer!
Loved it! A cleverly designed light-filled house with beautiful wooden interior, comfortable furnishings, and tropical leafy views. Location was perfect for our visit to Volcanoes National Park. The space worked well for our group of six (two couples and two 20ish brothers.) The huge walk-in shower was luxurious. Alex provided coffee, home-made yogurt, and other amenities. Cheery wood-burning stove and plenty of blankets took the chill off a January night. We'd happily return.
