17 miles from Moab. Takes one hour. Take the road between Burger King and McDonalds. At stop sign go straight. River on right. Black top ends. Follow signs that say Hurrah Pass. You don't normally need 4 wheel drive but you should have some ground clearance. Five or six inches. If height is an issue you will have issues up and down Hurrah. We are 2.7 miles down Hurrah. Turn right at Base Camp sign and come to the lodge. I'll take you over to the hogan.

The location is beautiful and remote! The drive is intense but 4 wheel drive/high clearance works great... I appreciated the tip to come in while it was still light. We loved it!

Amazing experience! The view, hiking, renting side by side 4x4's to see some really interesting and adventurous areas was fantastic! I've never seen so many stars at night. Firewood was already there to start a camp fire. Hot shower too!

We had a great time l! The space was clean and spacious with a mini fridge. The outdoor shower was awesome! The drive is no joke. We came in after dark and I must say it’s less scary in the dark than during the day!

Tom's place is unique and amazing. From seeing the foxes, raccoons, skunks and the Ringtail at night to renting the side by side to see the Wind Caves, high cliffs along the Colorado River, hiking the 100 foot narrow path around Chicken Corners, finding petroglyphs and kayaking,…

Give yourself some time to get down to Tom’s and enjoy the scenery on the way down (don’t recommend attempting in the dark). We enjoyed staying in the Hogan, kayaking down the Colorado, renting the side by side and exploring the wind caves and chicken corner, and seeing the Milky…

Great remote location to get away from the rat race for a bit. Hiking is excellent. A visit to the Wind caves is recommended. Kobai the tortoise is amazing. Might be kind of warm in the male hogan at night June through August. We went in September.

We had a lovely stay in the hut! There were more amenities than we anticipated, including a refrigerator, 4-5 gallons of water, a coffeemaker, an A/C unit, and towels. As many have written, there are tons of things to do around the land (hiking, swimming, kayaking, etc.). Tom was…

Interaction with guests
